1 out of 5 eggsShould have stayed away from referb

Pros: Arrived fast and in one piece

Cons: Hard drive failed within 60 days. This is the second time one of these refurbished units failed within that time frame. Now the joy of re-installing everything again.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst consumer experience of my life

Pros: It arrived in one piece.

Cons: 1. The first unit they shipped me functioned for approximately two hours. It then froze up and refused to reboot.

2. My request for return took them a week to respond to.

3. When I finally received my RMA, I shipped the unit back.

4. It took them another two weeks to ship me the replacement.

5. The replacement was both NOT the item I ordered, and was also dead on arrival. It didn't even boot to the OS.

6. I contacted newegg immediately upon receiving the defective and wrong item, but did not hear back from them despite repeated attempts to reach them. Finally, I threatened to dispute my charge through my credit card company, and they responded.

7. I immediately shipped the second (defective and incorrect) PC back to newegg, and it took them two weeks to post my refund.

Other Thoughts: In short, I am through dealing with Newegg. My net experience with them in attempting to purchase this product was 5 dollars of shipping money lost, as well as a great deal of my time and gas money spent shipping my defective items back to the company.

There was a time when newegg was the gold standard in computers and electronics, both new and refurbished. I can't speak to their new items, but their refurbished items are apparently total garbage. It saddens me to see a once-great company fall so low, but that's the way it goes.

Oh, and one last bit: they promised to have someone contact me to "follow up" and "investigate" what happened and why I received the wrong item. I have yet to hear a word from them three weeks later. This company offers low prices, but I could also do that if I provided horrible service and defective equipment.

1 out of 5 eggsWrong Version of Windows

Pros: The machine is fine. Cheap, good enough for office work.

Cons: Advertised as having Windows 7 Pro. Has a Windows 7 Pro license sticker on the case. Actually installed? Windows 7 Home Premium. Quality assurance fail. Thanks for the extra work to get that sorted out, kind of defeats the purpose of buying a cheap refurb if I have to sink man hours to get it right.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little PC

Pros: Very compact, well engineered and easy to work on. Fast unit with Windows 7 Pro. Can handle most any job. Excellent buy at an on sale price. Ordered another 2GB of ram, can use up up to 8GB. PCI slots for internal video card.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Reinstall disc came with wrong Win 7 version and Andy at Blair Tech immediately sent correct version. Great service! Thanks

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little system! Quick, quiet and clean!

Pros: Small form factor, black case, easy to open.
Refurbished- cleaned everything and it shows that they care about their customers and products.

Cons: Packaging as a little less than desirable.

Other Thoughts: Great system to run a NVR with Blue Iris software.
Was able to very easily remove the provided hard drive and install my own NVR/DVR quality unit. Used a good copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit and the provided license key to install the system. Have been running it for around two weeks without issue. Seems to be as rock solid as any Windows box will be.

Pros: Inexpensive, works like it should, runs Quick Books like a scalded dog.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Can't be beat for a small office/home office workhorse.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Computers, bad accessories.

Pros: The computers are great for refurbished units. The Windows 7 PRO 64-bit operating systems run great and installation on our existing network went nearly perfect.

Cons: The keyboards and mice are the cheapest stuff I have ever seen. The keyboards have to be unplugged and plugged back in frequently as they just stop working out of the blue. The mice are so cheaply made that the red optical lights shine through every crack in the case and they also have to be unplugged and plugged back in frequently.

Other Thoughts: We bought 9 of these computers and they work great for our office, but the accessories leave much to be desired. I would have paid a few extra dollars for some decent accessories. If you buy these computers plan on buying your own mouse and keyboard.
