5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I am very happy with this computer. I love the big screen and although I was concerned that the glossy screen would be annoying it is fine. It looks like a tv or a tablet on a stand and its not as delicate as a laptop screen. It is great for having two pages open at the same time. The computer seems to know how to fix itself when there is a problem. It can take some time and be considered annoying but it is good it does that. I just love the fast start up. I do plan to upgrade to windows 8.1. This is my first Lenovo and I did a lot of research before purchasing it. I have no regrets and would recommend it.

Cons: I do not believe it has bluetooth and it didn't come with a tv tuner. It doesn't lay completly flat and it is pretty heavy about 27 lbs. I was disappointed about one of the photo programs it came with which was one reason I chose this computer. I also had trouble starting it in safe mode using F8.There must be another button to get it to do that, I used the recovery or restore to fix it. The company isn't very helpful since everything is a software issue and they expect you to pay for tech support. I did purchase the one year warranty for in home repair if I need it. The could improve it with a bigger hard drive and battery power which they have on another model.

2 out of 5 eggsGood media/streaming machine

Pros: Nice screen. Specs are more than enough for my needs (see Other thoughts).

Cons: Touch interface on Windows 8 not as responsive as iOS/Android devices. Not sure if it's Windows 8 or the touch responsiveness of the display itself.

Lenovo includes too much bloat-ware. Had to spend some time removing unwanted apps/installations.

Wireless mouse included with bundle is defective. Waiting on Lenovo for replacement.

Other Thoughts: This purchase was intended purely as a home media / online streaming device. I have no intention of running high-end applications or games, so the review does not cover such uses.

Rating would have been higher had the mouse not been an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Buy

Pros: Screen is amazing. CPU, memory and hard drive are upgradable. Keybaord and mouse are slim.

Cons: HHD is slow. Keyboard layout is awkward. Upgrade to Win 8.1 can be tricky. Speakers leave a lot to be desired.

Other Thoughts: Upgrading to an SSD is a must. I went with a Samsung 250GB and their data migration utility had the drive cloned in under 6 minutes. Ordered Friday afternoon and it was delivered Monday @ 9am. Haven't pushed the GPU yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PC, but needs tweaking to become usable

Pros: Looks great, good QHD screen, mSATA slot, BD reader/DVD writer, bluetooth,USB 3.0, HDMI-in.

Cons: Extremely slow out of the box, to the point of being unusable. Factory-installed crapware plus 5200RPM HDD are the main causes.
Doesn't support 802.11ac.
Mouse could be better.

Other Thoughts: The machine was impossible to use right of the box, way too slow. Like many PC manufacturers, Lenovo put a lot of add-on software with questionable usefulness on it and saved on the HDD, putting a slow 5200RPM one in. Those two factors combined made the PC very slow.
Thankfully, there was an empty mSATA slot in it, and after adding an SSD drive (Plextor px-256m5m) and installing clean Windows 8.1 on it the machine is now a pure joy to use - boots in seconds and most apps start under a second.
If you need precise mouse movement (as I do when I work in Photoshop and Lightroom) you may want to upgrade the mouse, the included one is not very precise, depending on the surface there is a small delay between you starting to move the mouse and the movement being registered on the computer.
