5 out of 5 eggsSolid Desktop w/ Greater Value-to-Power than Avg

Pros: I bought this computer in December for my girlfriend. I was searching to meet the following criteria: reliability in a college environment; less than $650 for the whole setup; minimum 1TB HDD; processing power capable of full HD video playback and moderate gaming.
It is important to note that I hooked up a 21" 1920x1080 ASUS monitor with an HDMI cable for the display (affects computer workload; a lesser resolution would produce heightened results).
The computer handles games much better than expected, (smoothly) running Skyrim on medium-high, Portal 2 on highest, and Fallout 3 on high. Video playback is, as expected, flawless, without any stutters running (true) blueray files.
Cooling is very good; no issues. VERY nice case design; looks sleek and just cool with the metal brushed front and black sides. Nice placement of USBs and headphone jack. HAS USB 3.0s (that's nice).
Comes with a decent mouse and keyboard. Mouse is standard and 'meh,' but I really like the keyboard.

Cons: It is *not* absolutely quiet, but definitely not noticeable unless environment is entirely quiet.

I do not like the CD/DVD tray. It is annoying to open, and it took me like a full minute to figure it out. Feels like I could accidentally break the wrong part easily.

DOES have SOME bloatware from Lenovo. Not much, but some (which is expected of a new computer).

Does not come updated to Win 8.1. Not cool.

It's probably hardware compatability with the ASUS monitor, but when using the HDMI cable it would shut the monitor off whenever the computer went to sleep. Really annoying.

Has relatively weak WiFi receiver. Set up in a house with the internet source in the adjacent building and scarcely picked up (like not at all), despite my laptop ($700 in 2011) easily pulling it. In normal conditions, it worked fine.

Other Thoughts: First and foremost, this other person is simply a dolt; this is a review of the computer, NOT Windows.

Overall, I highly recommend this product. For the price, there aren't many other computers that give *this* calibre of power. It's pretty, powerful, and reliable. It's got all the sometimes-forgotten features such as WiFi, USB 3.0 (an asston (comparative)), and CD/DVD rewrite drive. Came well packaged, had no trouble setting up, and worked well for my needs and budget. It has given me no problems. I would like to address that I rarely write reviews because, quite frankly, I could be doing better stuff. The fact that I took the time to write this denotes my view of this computer. If I hadn't felt it would help other people, I wouldn't have written it.

Thanks.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage..

Pros: none anymore

Cons: lots vvvvv

Other Thoughts: Yeah sorry for making a third review but newegg hasn't implemented anything to edit reviews, and i really wanted to inform people of these issues before they buy this.. Anyways, the first day i got this computer i experienced blue screens of various names ( page fault in non paged area, irql no less or equal, kmod exception not handled, system thread except not handled) which are all BSODs of RAM, PSU, Hardrive, etc errors. I had a lenovo technician come to repair it, but it didnt even fix the problems. Matter a fact, it caused even more, i couldn't boot up the computer even and it was just stuck loading files. After having to wait a week for a technician to try and fix it, I had to wait another 2 for the Lenovo Depot service to fix all the problems.. WHen it came back, even more errors. The graphics card wasn't recognized and after updating the drivers for it TO be recognized, the monitor display was distorted, contrasted, and was smaller than my monitor screen ( even on hdmi, vga, dvi 1440p, 1080p, 720p!) . Such a joke. After some advanced troubleshooting on my own from some internet forums, because lenovo is brain dead when it comes to errors on the computers they built, i got it to work fine. You probably think everything was fine after.. nope. MORE BLUE SCREENS! This is when i got around 70 bluescreens in a span of a week from around 10 different kinds which i listed before.. Such trash i dont get how a brand so known as lenovo could have this much problems on their computers. Currently, im getting around 10 blue screens a day while i wait for lenovo to send me a new model of the computer, "supposedly" better they say. But hey, this could just be a defective computer. But i wouldn't trust it.

3 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Same as before

Cons: same as before

Other Thoughts: Ran into blue screen of death errors around 7 times, either when i was playing a game which this apu could easily handle, or just simply doing basic tasks. It then got serious where it would constanly give blue screens and i just had to system restore. I ran into a problem with that too, and the error made my system restore fail. This led to a boot error where windows said " error 1962 no operating system found". After talking to lenovo support, it seems to be that my hard drive was faulty, and they are going to repair my computer in person with a free hard drive and copy of windows 7. The support is great.. im not too sure what was wrong with the system though.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PC

Pros: Good Graphics Card
Fast
Memory and ram is more than enough
Supports HDMI
Almost no bloatware

Cons: Windows 8 is ok, but i rather have windows 7.
Only uses 1.75 tb of space and 7.2 gb of ram after windows is installed.
Nothing major yet.

Other Thoughts: So far the pc is really good. I haven't ran into too many big problems yet except for the annoying windows 8 features which restarts the pc randomly sometimes, or goes into different menu's when i click something. However windows 8 isn't really that big of an issue. You can block out all those annoying features and just use the desktop app which looks just like windows 7.
