4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy for the money!

Pros: Fast little computer for the money compared to what I had before. Compact design let me save some space on my desk. It even is updateable to windows10 for free which I haven't done yet. A little skeptical still. Good deal..

Cons: Didn't have to use the CDROM until a month later which I believe was beyond parts replacement. I needed to load a driver for a wifi antannae and it wouldnt read one disc. I had to purchase a replacement through Newegg. Sucks but what can I do. Another issue was it would reboot when coming out of hibernation. I did some changes in settings and it stopped, maybe did it once since then. The last issue I'm still having is trying to update windows 7, no matter how many critical updates it says I have I can't seem to download them since my computer won't connect to Microsoft for some odd reason. I've tried and tried and can't come up with any solution.

Other Thoughts: Overall for the price its a good deal with some minor issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBUYER BEWARE!! - a rating of 1 is too generous

Pros: - Works as a nice anchor, but a bit over-sized to act as a paper weight

- Refurbished system had huge marks and gashes in case
- Did not come with an internal sound card other than the noise heard by the whining or ticking of hard drive.
- No HDMI port
- Extremely heavy computer system, feels close to 15 or 20lbs.

- Needed to purchase an alternate keyboard since the driver for the provided USB keyboard was not recognized & I was unable to navigate system with the mouse alone in order to register software & obtain updated drivers
- System continues to shutdown and shows the blue screen of death and reboots after sitting idle for less than an hour.
(Please note, I only installed a web browser and small text program, so software compatibility is not the issue)
- Refurbished system, with large 1 TB HD but remains 32-bit architecture

Other Thoughts: - I purchased system to use as a training box for Windows server software & potential backup system while experiencing issues.
- Upon contacting newegg after two-days after the 30-day warranty period, they stated they were willing to take the item as a return, but when informed I no longer had the original packing (plain cardboard box & bubble rap) they informed me I had to contact the original seller directly with regard to the one-year warranty.

Thank you newegg but my transaction was with you and I was sold a machine that does not function properly. I have been on-hold for 30+ minutes with "the seller" provided contact information provided by you and am certain, newegg will never get any of my business in the future!

Thank you for the much needed headache and frustration I am currently experiencing!!

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for what I needed...till the hard drive went belly-up.

Pros: Cheap price
Got it to hook to a TV, used only for internet surfing and watching Netflix, worked great.
Small size

Cons: Had it a total of 5 months with no issues, then got one night had warning pop up that hard drive was in danger of imminent failure. It wasn't lying, it's dead.

Other Thoughts: This computer worked great for internet surfing, but even for such a low price, I would have expected to get more than 5 months of use out of it before having to replace a major component. Luckily I never saved anything on the hard drive, so no data was lost.

2 out of 5 eggsNot usually a complainer....

Pros: low price

Cons: Although I'd sworn off of HP everything, the low price enticed me....I only needed this computer for light duty, (web browsing, quickbooks...nothing heavy). This is incredibly slow for a dual core. Barely does what I need it for. I gave it 2 eggs only for the cheap price. Fool me once, shame on HP. Fool me twice.....shame on me! NEVER again with HP. You get only what you pay for. ...and in this case, not even what I paid for. Sad

4 out of 5 eggsHP Desktop 1TB HDD 4GB Ram

Pros: Not bad for the price and for what it has including Windows 7 Professional

Cons: Looks like it was used yesterday Know it is a recertified but no bother to clean and was still quite banged up

Other Thoughts: Always thought that reconditioned/recertified meant that the product has been made free of defects

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Solid system for a very low price. System actually arrived with 2gb more RAM than had been advertised.

Cons: Casing is a little scratched up, but that is to be expected from a refurb system.

Other Thoughts: Box arrived in perfect condition, however the mouse that was shipped with the system arrived completely shattered, had to dig through the garage and grab a spare USB mouse.

2 out of 5 eggsgood machine, fragile components

Pros: a very capable low cost computer

Cons: Either the power supply or board failed after 4 months of limited use. Not worth replacing parts, I'm just replacing unit.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't Complain for the price

Pros: It is a small pc that was used to replace one that died. I did add ram to it. Customer service was very friendly when I had a small issue, and easy to contact. (had to leave a voicemail, but returned my call.)

Cons: Obviously I had an issue with the DVDROM drive not working, but they promptly sent a replacement. It should be expected that it isn't going to be perfect it is a refurb. So I am no letting that damper my review. The HDD is noisy, but every HP I have ever seen is noisy. So I was expecting it.

Other Thoughts: My expectations were met. But keep in mind buying a refurb is like buying a used car... if you don't know how to work on it, you might as well just buy a new one.

5 out of 5 eggsmikey

Pros: Unit booted up out of the box and has current version of Windows 7. Ordered a low profile wifi card and the PC is now on the home network. Will probably order another for my shop.

Cons: Hard drive is a bit noisy

Other Thoughts: Newegg doesn't deliver to PO Box addresses. Here in the boondocks even UPS drops their packages at the local Post Office. Creates a real problem for those of us who do not have home mail delivery.
