Pros: Good quality, easy setup, fast shipping (and free!), perfect for a normal TV/DVD/PC person
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: Samsung designed a box handle that made the TV box re-carryable. It might be a cool little addition to this one.

Mac mini monitor in "TV" position
Reviewed By: Syzygies on 2/2/2010
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Mine had no dead pixels. Good value, web consensus is "reaching its prime", "strong buy for everyone". As a computer monitor, exactly what one wants, with no recent features intended to smooth out football ("120 Hz motion blur" or whatever) that degrade use as a monitor. Google "input lag" for the kind of issue that more recent advances have introduced.
Cons: I have to wonder if a dedicated commercial monitor (like those 40" displays at airports) would look better. Expect a frantic "what what I thinking!?" hour before this TV behaves like a monitor would out of the box.
To set up use as a monitor, press Menu on the remote to get to Picture settings, and set the aspect ratio not to 16:9 but rather to Just Scan. Google "Just Scan", an option on many TVs, to understand that this fixes losing part of one's display off the edges of the monitor.
I use a DVI adapter on my Mac mini, and a DVI to HDMI cable. It does not matter which video output you use on the mini (different adapters!) or which HDMI input you use on the TV (I tried all combinations before solving this). After choosing 720p or 1080p in the System Preferences Displays panel, be sure to enable Overscan in the Displays Options tab, to avoid a black margin around your screen image.
Other Thoughts: Now, go to the Color tab and create a new display profile. This isn't a test; you can try every day with different names till you're happy. Your first try will be infinitely better that the default, where text looks seriously "What the #!? was I thinking?" harsh.
I use this monitor more for work than play, from a stressless chair 7 feet away. Without true resolution independence support from one's computer OS, I strongly prefer using this TV in 720p mode to 1080p mode. This is not a waste of money, as the TV hardware does a great job making the 3:2 conversion here. Text smooths out nicely, and simply looks better this way. Indeed, if I could buy a 7200p monitor to use in 720p mode, I would. However, if one resigns oneself to 720p use, perhaps there are less expensive TVs out there that would be adequate.
