4 out of 5 eggsYou will not find another TV this size for this price!

Pros: This is a huge TV for the money! Since I bought mine, Newegg has raised the price slightly and can't seem to keep it in stock. So, a lot of people are seeing the value of this set. For me this replaces a 42 inch Panasonic 720p plasma set. The picture on broadcast or satellite at 720p and 1080i may not be quite as sharp as the 42, but I am guessing that is because it is so much larger. But the picture while watching a Blue Ray disk in 1080p is incredible! The detail in the picture is amazing! You may need to adjust the picture settings, another reviewer gave his and there are a couple of different preset settings. Since other reviewers advised against using the energy settings I immediately turned it off. Overall, the picture is crisp, clear and LARGE! This set is a little more expensive than a comparable size DLP but you can see a perfect picture from every angle of the room. Also, in my opinion, plasma is a little more pleasing than LCD. I have not experienced LED yet.

Cons: GLARE! Plasma TV's have a glass screen that reflects all light in the room right at you. That includes lamps on the table and light from the windows. My 42 had it, but this 60 has much more because there is so much more screen to reflect. Also, the frame of this set is a shiny black finish, and it also reflects a lot of light. My 42 had a satin silver finish and did not reflect much. An LCD TV will not reflect any where near this much, but you will pay double for an LCD this size. Luckily, other than weekend sporting events, most of my viewing is at night, so I can control most of the light in the room. If your viewing room has a lot of windows or other lights on, you will not be happy as it will interfere with your viewing. If that's the case, you should probably save up and buy as large of an LCD or LED as you can afford. But if you can control the light and can live with a little glare, this is the biggest, best buy in a set of this size I have ever seen.

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers have had both good and bad experiences with the freight company. On the scheduled day of delivery, I had not heard from them so I called to check. They told they had called to schedule delivery but that I did not answer and it would be two more days before they could schedule again. I told them I had been home all day when they supposedly called and I had caller ID and there was no record of them calling. The woman I was talking to about this immediately scheduled delivery for the next day instead of two days later. Even so, it was a day late. The delivery driver was very professional, and patiently waited while I opened the box and inspected the set before accepting.

5 out of 5 eggsSTEAL!!!!!!!!!

Pros: I am the biggest skeptic out there.I did ALL my due diligence on flat screens and this kept on coming in my #1 in regards to bang for the buck. I was skeptical of plasmas as well since I already have a 42 LCD at home that I like. However right now I consider this one of the wisest investment I ever made. My plasma is so much clearer than my 120hz LCD. Hello, 600 hz 2mm to 1. Even my non Blu Rays on my 60 plasma look like Blu Ray....even up close. Never owning a plasma before I was very weary of the weight, glare, potential burn-ins, and the lifespan. Now I am laughing about all my worries I had. Weight? I have it on my wall. The studs holding up my kitchen cabinets bare more weight. Glare? Simply close your blinds. Burn-Ins? Please, I play PS3 religiously and had icons up on the screen for 10 hours and nothing. Life span? 10-15 yrs is P-L-E-N-T-Y. Do you presently have a TV in your house that is 10 years old?? If so, how much did u buy it for?How much is it worth now?

Cons: Audio, but who buys a 60 inch without a home theatre system???? And all the hundreds I saved went towards my high end home theatre that sounds amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsSimply amazing.

Pros: 1.) Size
2.) Price " per $ is simply unbeatable.
3.) Plasma 9th gen's color ratio, black ratio is unbeatable.
(I own both LCD and plasma and LCD fanboys can eat it, just check out the specs side by side)
4.) They got rid of ghosting images.
5.) 600 hz, compared to LCD's 120,240 it's blazing.
6.) Nice Energy save mode built in.

Cons: 1.) Can notice little glare in the bright afternoon but it's not too bad.
2.) Consumes little bit more electricity then LCD but it's not really noticeable and for this much better color and depth, it's totally worth it

5 out of 5 eggsI'm Impressed w/ LG

Pros: Lot of bang for the buck, nice picture, can't beat the price.

Cons: None I can really think of. Seems a tad bit heavy (113 lbs I think). Not sure how this compares to other 60" plasmas.

Other Thoughts: I tried Csquared's settings below and I have to say they look pretty good. I really had no idea how to set this up myself. If you have found other great professional settings for this plasma please post them :)!

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Impressions

Pros: I'm difficult to please when it comes to TV's. (hey, that rhymed :) Black levels are rarely where I like them, motion issues kill me, what can I say, I'm picky. I was very skeptical about this one. Boy, was I wrong! Beautiful picture!! Very sharp, excellent colors, great motion 'cause its a plasma, etc. 60'' for this price??? Wow! Sooo many controls for video options.

Cons: Not the darkest blacks... but sufficient. I guess I'll just have to wait 10 years until I can get a 60" OLED...

Other Thoughts: If this item becomes available again, don't hesitate! This will save you thousands!!

5 out of 5 eggsBuy It

Pros: Outstanding picture. This plasma easily bests the LCD and rear-projection CRT we have.

Cons: The speakers are awful!

Other Thoughts: 5 stars for the price. Get it while you can.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: This was my first HDTV and let me say this: I was blown away by the picture quality. I like the design and you just can't beat the price.

Cons: I wasn't thrilled with the remote or the stand, but that is just nitpicking/

Other Thoughts: I love the 600 hrtz-its great when you are watching sports or high action movies. Only plasma's reach that high.

5 out of 5 eggspretty much awesome

Pros: Huge, gorgeous screen. Tons of inputs, calibrated by eye, and has amazing colors when done so. Weighs only like 80 lbs or so, which is very easy to move for two people.

Cons: Not enough hype. Doesn't include buzzword technologies like 240hz or motionflow, so doesn't impress the best--buy crowd nearly as much.

Other Thoughts: Plasma tv's often have the best picture quality of any sets, but are now rivaled by the new LED tv's which are double the price. If you want a large gorgeous tv now- get a plasma. If you want 3d capability - wait for 3yrs while the technology gets perfected and comes down in price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: As others have said, it's a great tv. When you take price into account, no other TV comes close (trust me, I searched). Best bang for the buck.

Cons: It's not free.

Other Thoughts: Sharp picture.
Huge display.
Full 1080p.
Lots of inputs.
Good speakers (for a TV).
I own other LG products and am always happy with the quality.
