5 out of 5 eggs3 1/2 years and still kicking

Pros: Had this tv since January of 2011 and it hasn't given me any issues since. Between a lot of gaming and movie watching I've really put this thing through the ringer and I have yet to see any serious issues or mechanical failures. Great picture, decent array of ports and got it at an incredible price at the time.

Cons: "Tru Motion" isn't fantastic but turning it off allows this tv to reach it's potential.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good in the long run, 2yrs at most

Pros: Clear pic easy to look at when it works.

Cons: If you want to have a tv longer than two years look else where.
VERY POOR customer service...non-existent, you probably already know how to plug and unplug your TV.
Have two a 39" and a 42" both had component failures in two years.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this TV!

Pros: It performs like a dream- even a year later. The picture is stunning and compares well with TV's costing hundreds of dollars more. The on-board speakers are top-notch. I have a surround sound system for gaming and I rarely use it because the speakers are so good.

The picture like I said is stunning given I only paid 550 for it, and it was cheaper than the 32" 720p TV (also an LG, bought at HHGregg) I bought 18 months earlier. I don't think you can do much better than this even nowadays unless you go for a smart TV, even without factoring in the price. The only people who'll find something to criticize about the picture and sound are tech snobs anyway. And anyone who complains about there only being 3 HDMI inputs really needs to buy a bloody AV receiver and stop being cheap.

Cons: Not a one.

Other Thoughts: I've had this TV for over a year now, and though newegg doesn't stock it anymore (or they're not made anymore, whichever), it performs great. I would buy another one for my parents if I could find it. I doubt I'll be in the market for a TV for myself for a long time, unless I hit the lotto and buy a mansion with space for a private theatre. Then I would just pay someone to buy it for me, because, you know... I could do that.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this TV

Pros: I loooove this TV. It has so many features, I haven't even used them all. HDTV looks great and bluray is unfathomable. The internal speakers arent bad either, (I have surround sound hooked up so I rarely use it.) The picture on this thing is so good, and playing my 360 is the best. It also has energy saving options, and adjusts the lighting according to the lighting in the room. I would have gone LED but when I saw the spectrum change by itself, I decided this is the one.

Cons: The stand collects an absurd amount of dust. There is also only one HD component input and 2 SD AV ports. It does have 3 HDMI ports so having only one HD component isnt really a problem. I just dont understand why there would be more standard AV ports than HD components; its an HD tv for christs sake, but w/e. No actual physical problems.

Other Thoughts: I am not a verified owner since I bought it from best Buy. But I write reviews for any products I own just to help out others.
I would DEFF buy this TV again

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic deal at sale prices; OK deal at regular price

Pros: At $550 on sale, this TV is an absolute steal. For only $200 more than your average 32" 720p 60hz set (one sale even), you get full HD, 120hz, and a 42" screen. My set arrived absolutely spotless- no dead pixels or anything. solid performer, good picture for the price range, and lots of audio and video adjustability.

Cons: 120hz "TrueMotion" isn't as good as the alternative technology in other brands or even higher end LG's in my opinion. Crank it up past halfway and you get some serious artifacts in anything involving motion. Long, slow sweeping landscape shots (think planet earth) or close-up low-action dialogue shots absolutely shine with truemotion though. Sort of odd seeing as it's marketed as enhancing action....Also, backlight is a tad on the dim side but still satisfactory. Only 3 hdmi inputs may put a cramp in the style of some, but with that many sources you should really have an AV receiver anyway. On-board speakers are lacking power, but for small rooms they should be fine and the onboard software for enhancing dialogue really does make somewhat of a noticeable difference.

Other Thoughts: Does it measure up next to my Parents' full array LED, 240hz, top of the line model? No. Does it hold its own considering it literally cost 1/5th what their set did? Absolutely. For $550 you really can't do better without buying refurbished or out of a trunk behind a walmart.
The reviews you find online are nearly all positive or a few ho-hum, and those reviews were made when the TV was new and full price. Factor in the amazing deal you can get on neweeg (frequently $550), and you can tack on a star or two onto any review you read.

And lets remember, Most audiophiles agree that CCFL is still preferable to edge-lit LED. Don't let the gimmick fool you; You won't be getting anything superior until you spend $1200+ on a full led array TV.

4 out of 5 eggsIt does the job well

Pros: It displays a picture. It looks nice. 120 Hz seems to make a difference for Blu-ray videos, watching Inception on Blu-ray using this TV was pretty amazing.

Cons: No audio out port (RCA). It would be nice if it had one, So if you're like me and don't have a stereo amplifier that receives HDMI audio input.

There's no way to use the TVs speakers with VGA input. It's simply impossible.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a television buff, I'm just happy to have a television that I don't have to smack every 30 seconds to remove the static snow effect (old television owners will know exactly what I'm talking about).

4 out of 5 eggsNice Monitors - Poor Packaging/Shipping

Pros: Nice TV, I purchased 2. These makes the 3rd and 4th LG screens i've purchased for Computer Monitor usage. Work great look sharp.

Cons: Packaging is poor. UPS clearly mishandled BOTH of the TVs. However the packaging is poorly designed. The top corners of these TVs are very pointed and a small drop results in a stabbing/splitting of the Styrofoam. Both my TVs were dropped hard enough to crush all 4 foam blocks and resulted in slight scratching of the top right corners. I almost didn't accept the TVs from UPS but after inspecting the screens being unspoiled I accepted.

Other Thoughts: Check out your TV before accepting, they have a GOOD chance of being damaged prior to arriving.

5 out of 5 eggsGood TV

Pros: With some tweaking on the display settings, it looks very nice. Lots of connectors in the back, definitely use the HDMI, it's such a difference from our old (non-HD) TV.

Cons: Picture was dim out of the box, easily adjusted though. No HDMI cable included, that's a separate purchase.

Other Thoughts: Good TV, good price, $550 delivered with a promo code. Thanks newegg!
