5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV Great Price

Pros: The image is crystal clear. HD content looks jaw dropping, and SD content actually fares pretty well too. The menus are easy to navigate, has plenty of inputs, and the sound is pretty good also. I can't really come up with any real complaints.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Was in the market for a new TV. Was looking at 46 inches but then I saw the price on this and figured I could go smaller and better, or bigger and not as good. Made the right choice.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent Value

Pros: This is my first day with this TV but I am very impressed so far. The frame is sleek thin and simple. The picture is fantastic as is the viewing angle. I was expecting the sound to be so-so but it's actually good enough until I find the right home theater system. Plays digital videos via the USB port and is controlled by play buttons on the remote. The touch sensor controls on the monitor are nice too. Comes with a special dust cloth. $699 for a 42" 120hz LED LCD!

Cons: Arrow pad on remote is a bit clicky and no backlite. No internet, (not a con if you have a TiVo or blueray with this feature). Assembled in Mexico.

Other Thoughts: The LE5300 series was released in the UK early 2010. It has all the features of the LE5400 minus internet. The US version is 120hz and the UK version is 100 HZ.

5 out of 5 eggsClarification

Pros: Great tv for the price

Cons: To add to the previous person who answered why it wasn't on the website.

Best Buy (which last time I checked is a major retailer) carried this model for the last few months, and had a special on it this past Cyber Sunday/Monday.

You can do a simple google search and you will find this model.

There is now a LE5400 series that replaces the 5300, which is probably why this is cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed with LG!

Pros: Here's the link to the LG website, in response to the first reviewer:

We've owned this TV for a day, and are really impressed with it. The interface is sleek, the touch-sensitive power/volume/channel buttons are a nice touch, and the adjustment interface is really easy to use. This was a spur-of-the-moment buy and we are not disappointed! It looks incredible with video games and HD movies/tv, has a nice sound to it even without a speaker system, and looks much more expensive than it was.

Cons: None so far.

3 out of 5 eggsBe Careful

Pros: LG is a top-quality maker of televisions. Three stars because it's from LG.

Cons: This is not one of LG's regular models in the U.S. That doesn't mean the quality is less than LG's other televisions; but you may have trouble with support (from LG and in user forums) after the holidays. And good luck if you're trying to price-match.

Other Thoughts: To N/A: The refresh rate of a TV has nothing to do with the household current - where did you get that from?

LG - like Samsung and other makers - is selling special TVs and Blu-ray players for the holiday season. These seasonal models lack certain features of their regular model lineup so they can be offered at a very low price while protecting the value of the 'regular' product line.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat LED for the price!!

Pros: Large Size, LED aspect, contrast ratio, adjustability

Cons: Like most TV's 40" or above, a bit wobbly on a TV stand

Other Thoughts: I was wary of getting this TV since I couldn't find the information on LG web site, but the TV is a great buy!! No internet app connectivity, but loaded with other features and 4 HDMI. USB port for photos, etc. and easy setup and adjustment. Just make sure you go thru the TV setup or the optimal settings fo the color/brighness. Intelligence Sensor should not be used, it makes the screen go extremely dim and makes viewing impossible. Just set up a couple of different expert TV setups and this TV will be perfect viewing!! I ordered this TV on Monday, I got it on Tuesday even though it was economy shipping!! Couldn't believe the speed of shipping. Also, this TV is $50 cheaper today, at $500 less than original price!! Do no hesitate to order this TV.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Ordered

Pros: This is a reply to 007vsMagua who mentioned that this TV is not on the LG website and had concerns about a 100Hz refresh. According to LG Support, the TV is being offered in the US for the first time and will be added to the website shortly. This TV has been offered in Europe since April. Since it has been available in Europe for a few months now, most specs you will find are based on the EU specs. In EU, electricity is at 50Hz thus requiring a doubled refresh of 100Hz. In the US, electricity is at 60Hz which will require a doubled refresh of 120Hz instead, or even quadrupled to 240Hz. The refresh is a multiple of the electricity frequency. I hope this helps weary buyers to not overlook this TV. I just ordered it and did an extensive amount of research before purchasing. I can't wait until it arrives.

Cons: Haven't received it yet.

5 out of 5 eggsCustomer for life

Pros: Everything looks so much smoother on this TV due to the TruMotion technology and it makes Blu-ray content feel like I'm actually there. This TV makes me want to start watching TV and movies again just to see how they look on this TV. Lots of options and the picture quality is fantastic,

Cons: Was kind of bummed when I found out I couldn't hook up my speakers via stereo audio cables, I needed a digital optical out cable but the speakers were given to me for free so It's not too much of a fuss.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg is the best company I have ever done business with. The TV arrived with a huge crack in the glossy trim and for some reason I was not able to RMA. After a small inquiry, NewEgg granted an RMA number, sent a replacement no charge and picked up the old one via UPS. If I need it (or want it), I look here first. I am a customer for life.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Looks like a great day is not that far away_Cyber Monday. Price is fair.

Cons: My first concern with this model is that it is not listed at the official LG_usa site, nor does it come up in a support search. I did find a link to a LG_uk site that has this model and their spec is 100Hz and not 120Hz.

Other Thoughts: At LG this 42 inch model is the only model missing from the LE5300 Series line-up.

I'm not sure why Newegg has it listed as a 120Hz unit, and I'm not sure what kind of service will be available.

I find it strange that LG does not have it listed.

I have not found any reviews.

This model seems to be the black sheep of the family, but that does not mean its lacking in any way from the LE5300 Series.

This product probably deserves a better rating, but until some of these mysteries are cleared up__buyer beware.
