3 out of 5 eggsok...but slightly defective

Pros: Great TV for price ($799)
great color and refresh rate
nice slim design and low power consumption
lightweight for a 60" plasma TV

Cons: TV glass had a white spec behind glass. Called LG tech. support and emailed pictures of white spec to LG. An LG tech was sent out to repair defect and he recommend not to repair / take TV apart to clean off spec behind glass because he said that there is a 98% chance that more dust and particles will be on the glass after reassembly. Because I no longer have the retail box, newegg.com will not take return or exchange and being that the LG tech did not recommend a repair, as it will cause more particles, I'm stuck with a TV with white spec... sitting 40ft. from the TV makes the spec not visible when TV is on.

Other Thoughts: Ceva was the company for delivery and they are horrible. Truck driver's appearance, personality, and grammer had me question whether or not to even let him in my home. Also, when the truck driver opened the back of his truck, there were many TVs in the back that were laying all over like a spilled deck of cards...not one strap or rope to secure TVs.

3 out of 5 eggssatisfied

Pros: It's big

Cons: Screen is a bit glossy, chops off the edges when connected to a computer, sometimes the backllight gets dim for no reason

Other Thoughts: I didn't pay much; I think I got a very good deal on a brand new 60" LG Plasma

5 out of 5 eggsWorth $866

Pros: - Very clear and vibrant picture compared to my last 240hz LCDTV
- Slim, and hangs off the wall perfectly.
- Works seamlessly with my LG Bluray player.
- Touch less buttons on the front of the TV, reminds me of the PS3.

Cons: -Heavy, it was hard for two of us to put this on the wall.
-Sound isn't the best but it's livable. I'd recommend getting a better sound system.
- Awful Harry Potter-esque remote.
-The shipping company Ceva that Newegg uses was awful to deal with. I felt like I was trying to orchestrate an full on military strategy to get my TV.

4 out of 5 eggsLG 60PV450/CEVA Shipping

Pros: Bought this TV after I was notified about the ad on slickdeals.net where newegg.com was selling TV for $799 no shipping no tax.

Very slim design.
Very nice out of the box settings.
CEVA was the shipping company, their tracking site is only about 60% accurate, however service over the phone was excellent and informative.

Cons: The website for CEVA was inaccurate, but it arrived before the weekend (was estimated to arrive on monday, but recieved it friday morning)

TV has a highly reflective screen as you may have read on other reviews, however this does not bother me but may bother others.

Other Thoughts: for $799 I cant complain about this TV. It was an enormous upgrade from the 32" vizio I have had for years, not even compareable.

It seems alot of people have their doubts with CEVA and the shipping process involved. Let me tell you first hand to know these 3 things:

1.) CEVA is a freight company, expect it to be a little less accurate than your standard UPS/Fedex/USPS delivery, they are different.

2.) CEVA's website www.cevalogistics.com is where you can track your order. **Be advised that this is not very accurate and can give you a ballpark on where your order is at. Updates are delayed, the notes on the account are inaccurate (i.e. they checked my package in at seattle, WA a day early when it was actually sacramento, ca)

3.) Alot of people complain, just have the mindset that CEVA is not UPS, and tag another 2-3 days onto the esteimated date that newegg gives you.

I had a very good experience with this order and happy that I did it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great TV. This thing is HUGE. Makes my 32" look like a baby.

Cons: The only con I could think of would be the possibility of a burn in. I was told by LG to turn on the ISM method, and select orbiter to reduce the chances of Burn In.

5 out of 5 eggsBest plasma on the market

Pros: I write this review after being a Sony LCD owner for the past ten years and having seen several plasma televisions. My last Sony was a 10-bit LCD panel that had beautiful color rendition and gradients. It was only a 46 inch and we have a 13x25 foot entertainment room that just needed a bigger picture. I usually pass on looking at plasma televisions because of faults in earlier models (size, power consumption, heat, shorter life). Well after having a friend who works for a home theater install shop recommend this I went ahead and bought it over the LG 60PV250 when it was on sale in November. In researching the PV250 and PV450, the later has a 16-bit color gradient panel and processor as well as three instead of two HDMI ports. The last big advantage is the Picture Wizard II that allows for fine tuning the picture. The original out of the box picture was good but at 55 percent brightness and a few other settings it is absolutely amazing how brilliant the picture is.

Cons: Like most other large panel displays this model suffers from uneven screen lighting. What I mean is not the consistency of the backlight, but rather the screen turning slightly brighter or darker to compensate for lighting darker scenes. I mainly noticed while watching Harry Potter the other night and having a torchlit scene flicker the backlight slightly during part of the scene. With brighter scenes it is not noticeable. Aside from this issue, the colors (when tuned through the advanced settings of the picture wizard) are absolutely astonishing.

Other Thoughts: My cons of previous plasmas, listed above, are all but gone on this model. It is thin, has a long life (longer warranty would be nice), almost no heat, and is energy efficient. Aside from not having apps and missing 3D, this is the best television for the price and size. The current form of 3D, in my opinion, is gimmicky with expensive glasses that need to purchased separately.

3 out of 5 eggsDead Pixel

Pros: HUUGE. I love this TV. I've had it approximately 3-4 months and I've never experienced Image Burn in. I have experienced Image retention but other than that this tv is worth the money

Cons: There is however one big con. 3-4 months in and I have a dead pixel already.

Other Thoughts: This is my First LG product and i was rather excited about it. I havent called their helpline yet but depending on how that goes i may not buy them again.

1 out of 5 eggsBullshiit shipping company!!!

Pros: Good reviews for the prices but I never got to see it.

Cons: Ordered the TV since Black Friday of 2011 and the TV never arrived. It's been more than 2 weeks and I am still waiting. Newegg is pretty quick at shipping the orders but I don't know what's going on with this shipping company. I have the tracking number but there's no information of the shipping company to call in to check. I am so frustrated that I contacted newegg chat support and was issued an order replacement that will take ANOTHER 8 DAYS for neweggs to approve the replace. That means I have to wait for ONE MONTH for this TV. Not sure saving $100 bucks is worth a month wait.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This TV is excellent value. You get excellent black levels that eclipse any LED/LCD, nearly instantaneous response time (Plasma > LCD/LED in this regard) and unbeatable value. $1 grand for 60 inch plasma? Also, glass panel on a plasma helps to make it the colors more vibrant (Apple uses glass on their LED panels for laptops too). Amazing value overall.

Cons: Energy consumption isn't as good as LED/LCDs. Whites and contrast ratio isn't as good as LED/LCDs.

Other Thoughts: sam, to enable sound, you have to:

1) Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound ---> Enable HDMI Output and DISABLE laptop speakers.

If you disable the speakers on your laptop when you have connected the laptop to the TV, the sound should go through HDMI to the TV. Just make sure HDMI out to the TV icon is enabled.

This works on the LG and my Panasonic plasma.

3 out of 5 eggsno sound when I hook my laptop to it

Pros: cheap, huge size, thin (for a plasma)

Cons: none, other than I can't understand why the sound doesn't work when I hook up my laptop to it and play videos on my laptop.

I have a HDMI cable from my laptop to the TV. (might just be a windows driver issue with my laptop, not sure).

Other Thoughts: none
