LG 47" 3-D Ready 1080p 240Hz LCD Commercial Widescreen HDTV 47LD950C

Pros: Arrived on time and in good shape. Lots of inputs. Antenna TV reception is good. Apparently decent build quality. Passive 3-D with included glasses seems like a nice bonus feature. The remote is good and the back light was a nice touch.

Cons: Where to begin? Picture quality. Or lack thereof. I don't know if I got a dud, but the picture on this thing is terrible. There is a faint pinstripe gradient across the whole screen. Basically the whole screen has a subtle alternating pattern like a pinstripe shirt. If this wasn't bad enough, the set has severe problems with gradient banding. Think of a sunset or a light creating a shadow. It should be a smooth transition between bright and dark. On this TV, such gradients show up with very pronounced 'bands' of colors making the picture look cartoonish. Also darker gradients show up with lots of noise and pixelation. I tried to ignore all of this but, because otherwise the picture is pretty good. But it happens way too much when watching OTA high def. The analog component video inputs look worse.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, this TV is a major step down from the 32" LCD that it replaced. All except for the size.

I am usually not too picky when it comes to picture quality, but this one, I am going to have a hard time living with this clunker. Also this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review on newegg. Hopefully I can be a warning to others on this one!

Pros: The picture quality is absolutely phenomenal for the comparative size. Pop in an IMAX 3D blue ray disc, sit back, and enjoy hours of beautiful quality entertainment. Also stereoscopic 3D gaming is incredible.
The menu screen is very user-friendly and can assist you in getting your picture and sound just how you like it.
Built in speakers put out crystal clear audio and can be turned up quite loud.
Plenty of easily accessible inputs for just about any kind of media player you can think of.
Bought this TV with a combo wall mount deal and could not be more satisfied.

Cons: The TV itself is quite heavy and therefore requires a wall mount to be anchored into no less than 3 studs to be safe but not a deal breaker at all. Especially if you plan on putting it on the very nice stand it comes with.
The TV is also quite thick; about 3 inches; however your not paying the extra hundreds for a flat panel LCD.

Pros: Clear Picture, bright colors, awesome 3d, no batteries needed. Works with glasses from 3d movies in the theater. Standard settings out the box are awesome, most of the time Picture settings have to be seriously adjusted due to being too bright for Retail displays, however the standard setting on this HDTV was awesome enough in itself that no changes have had to be made.

Cons: nothing as of yet, could say no built in wifi, however if you have a ps3, or xbox 360, there is no reason for the built in apps.

Other Thoughts: This tv is spectacular, I have multiple HDTV's, The picture on this tv blows away my Sony Bravia 120hz, Panasonic Plasma 600hz, and obviously the 720p DLP that it replaced in the room. I cant wait to connect my pc for some Battlefield 3 on this.

Pros: had this Tv for less than 24 hours and I am more that impressed with the output that it delivers. BLuRay movies and PS3 games appear to display flawless in detail.

as a previous LG tv owner, i am pleased to say that LG has really stepped it up on this model.

oh yeah , passive 3d is unmatched!

Cons: nothing negative to say about this product
just weighs a lot,and it does not make breakfast

Other Thoughts: you must have a decent surround sound to match this boss TV's effect.

Pros: The clarity is amazing, for a 47" $1400 dollar TV - it definitely gets the job done for the price. I absolutely love it, after doing my research and checking out other TV's I bought this one. I am absolutely thrilled with it. I bought it w/ the WiFi & 3D ready, both are amazing. This is the "cheap glasses" version of 3D, but honestly I compared the battery powered 3D glasses to these ones and when it came down to it, this was the best. If you're wondering if 3D TV's can only watched in 3D - no, in fact you SWITCH over to 3D when you want, video games in 3D? Yes.

I use NETFLIX with this TV - as netflix has HD streaming - absolutely wonderful. 3D is awesome with the cool wildlife videos! Would be really cool for people with kids as it really immerses you into the program.

Cons: The WiFi "Home" is visually ugly, I wish you could choose a home display, theme @ colors. Although this really isn't important I find it something you should be able to customize.

Also, the "Apps" are VERY limited and I'd say 95% of them suck right now - BUT - I'm sure they will be adding them as they come. Every time you turn on your TV it updates, so as long as you have a WiFi enabled router or modem you'll be happy.

Red Box movies that are not Blu-Ray absolutely SUCK on this TV, but then again I'm pretty sure they suck on all TV's - just an observation.

All in all I really don't have any Con's to this television set, it won Consumers Guide award.

Other Thoughts: All around completely worth my money, so happy with my buy. I didn't by this off Newegg.com, but I'm testifying this so anyone else who might want to purchase it does have some knowledge of it. I am satisfied - I've bought a LOT of stuff off newegg so I wouldn't have any doubts that this will be a great addition to your entertainment system.
