The LG 50PV450C Full HD 1080p plasma television is designed for entertainment solutions for a variety of vertical markets. Commercial features include public display settings, USB cloning capability and an RS-232C port which helps reduce installation time and maintenance costs. Its TruSlim bezel trims unnecessary bulk and focuses the attention to the HD screen. EcoSmart energy savings allow for consumption level adjustments to reduce energy usage. With a 3,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 600 Hz Sub-Field Driving and a Dual XD Engine, the 50PV450C delivers a superior television viewing experience.

Public display settings and USB cloning When used in public areas, these HDTVs can be easily programmed by the installer to have the TV turn on at a specified channel/volume level, set the minimum/maximum volume, lock out the control panel/remote, set the aspect ratio, and return to a factory reset. By using Power Management, these displays can be programmed to turn off if there has been no activity (remote or control panel buttons) for a preset time (1-7) hours. USB cloning will allow for easy transfer of Public Display Settings from the “Master TV” to an unlimited number of same type televisions.
Eco smart Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG’s “Intelligent Sensor” uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for its surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption. You can also manually select your choice for the brightness level for the television. By selecting Minimum, Medium, or Maximum, the power consumption will be reduced and an increase in energy savings can be achieved.
Dual XD Engine The LG 50PV450C combines two of LG’s exclusive XD engines to maximize picture quality for any type of video content. By combining XD Engine processors, panel performance is optimized providing higher color accuracy and more realistic images.

Other Thoughts: Called customer service and after 20 minutes going through stupid questions like "Is it plugged in?", they agreed there was a problem with the picture. But apparently this TV is classified as a 'commercial TV' and can only get warranty service set up by the commercial deparment, which conveniently only works from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. Pros: 50",1080p, 600Hz refresh rate, great menu with lots of adjustment options, Got an even better deal with a promo code, This TV is surprisingly nice for the money. Cons: The only con doesn't really have to do with the TV itself. The first TV they shipped me came with a cracked screen. I know this is something that can't be helped sometimes. So I still give it 5 eggs. They shipped me a second TV immediately (with a hold on one of my credit cards) and picked up the broken unit. Other Thoughts: I'm happy to see Plasma still an option. The technology is mature and the caveats of the old days don't apply anymore.
