5 out of 5 eggsAwesome TV

Pros: This is an absolutely awesome tv. Most peoples gripe is with the magic remote but I have to say I love it. It is very accurate and responsive, makes it a breeze to type on screen and also to navigate. I used a tv at a friends house and got frustrated with their "dumb" remote.

The picture is great and the 3-D is really cool. Super thin bezel made of metal is awesome looking and the tv as a whole is really just amazing.

The things you can do with a smart tv are endless, LG has plenty of premium apps.

There is also an app for android which connects really quickly and works great.

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Really good picture quality, built in wifi, plex streaming, netflix, hulu plus, does a great job with the 2d to 3d conversion

Cons: Ads in the menus, honestly completely unacceptable, and blocked at the router first day.

HORRIBLE application selection, seriously, its laughable, aside from the a few streaming apps the whole app store is almost useless.

Other Thoughts: The remote works like a Wii mote, and can be annoying at times, because it will turn off very quickly.

It also has a hard time dealing with there being no signal from the selected input, and will keep prompting you to do a search or select a different input, this prompt will interfere with your attempt to say launch an app.

I got this TV on sale for a steep discount, which could account for me being very happy.

3 out of 5 eggsSmart TV vs. TV (3D or not)

Pros: *Great image quality.
*3D depth and sound adjusting works well.
*Wireless and LAN connectivity are a plus.

Cons: *No future updates for Adobe Flash Player Support for this model at this time.
*Limited functionality for sites that are Java intensive.

Other Thoughts: If you are in the market for a high quality TV, there are definitely other options than paying a premium by getting a Smart TV. When going for good, clear picture, don't get sucked into the pitfalls by purchasing a TV with a lot of bells and whistles that you may not need and may not have support for later. A lot easier to plug in a PC with HDMI supported connections if you want the added experience.

5 out of 5 eggsLG 47LM6700

Pros: * Quality built TV.
* The image quality is so good that its unreal.
* The 3D feature is great and glasses could be a little better, but they do perform as they are supposed to.
* Got this on a 699 deal!!

Cons: So many features, that it takes a while to learn. But overall its pretty intuitive.

Other Thoughts: Thanks a lot Newegg for this TV

4 out of 5 eggsN82E16889005318

Pros: Some have said they don't like the remote,tv color, reflection of glass. If you use a computer mouse, you'll have no problem. The color is set cool, thus the blue tint. Reflection is a problem if it's in a bright room. I no problem with black levels if set is adjusted correctly. Never use factory setting, there set up for show rooms. It's not a bad tv, worth the sale price.

Cons: Now To nit picking, apps are over priced for what they are. So are old 3d movies. Control of my Dish Hopper is ok, but I'll use a regular remote. Tv remote lags as if the computer is trying to catch up with your commands. I have to try it on games, haven't let. Wish they had regular RCA connections and not mini jacks. Wish for more inputs like another RGB, video and audio. Just Ins and outs.

Other Thoughts: A few years ago this set could cost over a $1000 to 5,000 dollars. But over production has made them cheaper. Again not a perfect set, but worth the price.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Television

Pros: - Amazing price. Ordered this from here last week when it was on sale for $700.

- Fantastic picture quality. The default settings out of the box leave a bit to be desired, but after changing various things around, it looks great. Rich colors and surprisingly deep blacks.

- 3D is awesome. No crosstalk at all. So far I've watched Dredd and The Avengers in 3D and loved every minute of it. Some of the best 3D I've seen on a television to date.

- For a smart TV, it's super snappy. Very minimal load times. I've used other smart TV's where you're navigating the menus and whatnot for much longer than you need to simply because the TV doesn't have the horsepower to go through them quickly. Not here. Menus and the internet browser load in a snap.

- Super slim bezel. It's not as thin as the picture indicates (the picture makes it appear as if there is almost no bezel whatsoever), but it's still pretty small.

- Looks amazing as far as aesthetics go. Super slim with a gorgeous base.

Cons: - As I mentioned, the blacks are good, but coming from an old Samsung plasma, they aren't as good. That's to be expected though when going from a plasma to LED.

- The LG App selection is anemic at best. It's got stuff like Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, and Pandora, but that's about it. The rest of the stuff on the app store is a bunch of junky games. No Ama*** Instant either.

- Not really a con as I got used to the "Magic Remote" relatively quickly, but I'd still prefer a normal remote. The Magic Remote integrates with DirecTV, but you wind up having to do virtually everything via on-screen commands. It just winds up taking longer than using the regular DirecTV remote.

- Very, very minimal light bleed. I've seen some horror stories online regarding the LM6700 models and them having really bad light bleed (the entire left side of the screen being super cloudy for one). I think I won the "panel lottery" with mine as it's ever so slight. Still, I figured I'd mention it.

Other Thoughts: Overall, excellent television. I'd give it four and a half stars if I could as I don't feel that the negatives I listed warrant a full star off the rating. I'm not sure what was up with CNet and their review of the television. After seeing it in person, I really dont understand their complaints.

4 out of 5 eggsPurchased this through retail store

Pros: Passive 3D, good construction, extremely thin. supports simplink (allowing me to control my PS3 using the TV's remote).

Has standard VESA mount, supports nvidia's 3D Play software (costs $40 though) allowing you to game on the TV in 3D.

Cons: Passive 3D. I realize I have this listed in pros as well. The con is that you lose half the vertical resolution with passive.

This TV claims it displays full 1080 resolution to both eyes, however it does not, plain and simple. If you are watching 3D, get close, and close one eye, you very clearly see that you are losing half the image.

This however is not a problem from 10-12 feet away or better, I don't notice it at all.

3D Play software only allows 1080P @ 24hz or 720P @ 60hz. I believe this has something to do with HDMI and Displayport can manage 1080P @ 60hz... But this tv does not have a displayport connector.

Other Thoughts: I paid 1000 bucks for this thing... Lack of displayport kind of kills your 3D gaming experience, but frankly 24P works fairly well.

Just be sure you properly set your game mode and whatnot, or this tv introduces tons and tons of input lag.

3 out of 5 eggsGood TV

Pros: Good TV. Color OKAY. Magic remote works well (to me). TV speakers are pretty good. Not excessive lightning or clouding.

Cons: A bit magenta, minimum light leak or lightning on the top two corners only when screen is complete black. Minimum darkening on white scene on the 2 vertical edges. Magic remote easy to flop down and arrow can keep popping up on the TV screen, even for a couple of seconds can be annoying.

Other Thoughts: In terms of color, I like the Panasonic ST50 plasma better: the color is rich and vibrant. Not that this LG is bad, but perhaps just not as good, regarding lightning and darkening, I think it's almost like inherent to the edge-lit LCD-LED technology thing. So it's really minimum in this model I have but if you can't overlook it at all, then you may have a problem.
