5 out of 5 eggsGreat picture, mixed feelings on functions - Addendum

Pros: Great picture. Blows me away with some blu-ray movies and even while I could stand to have a more up to day blu-ray player.
3D effect is impressive (real 3D from streaming so far as I have yet to purchase a 3D blu-ray player) and even the 2D to 3D conversion is impressive even though less than 'real 3D'. I figured the 2D to 3D conversion would be a cheesy, boxed dimensional effect, but it actually does a decent job of translating the items on the screen to their proper positions for the most part.
The voice command on the remote has worked well and rarely misunderstands commands. It has a mini-jack for analog headphones/external speakers even though it is not mentioned on LG's specs.

Cons: Too many features regulated to menu control. Features such as changing Screen Aspect format require bringing up the menu to select the desired format rather than just cycling through quickly at the push of a button or cursor buttons. Likewise with selecting an input device (HDMI1, HDMI2, AV1, etc.) requires on-screen selection when it could have been done with an individual button. Most everything is on-screen menu driven which can be disturbing for other viewers who may not wish to have their viewing interrupted while you make a simple adjustment. This inefficient aspect is what I find it's biggest negative. The Wi-Fi seems to have a poorer reception compared to that of my Roku which is located at equal distance, but not enough to make it a major issue.
The motion control on-screen cursor is to intimidating to my elderly family members to the point that they will often not bother with the TV if someone else hasn't already turned it on.

Other Thoughts: TV arrived on time and in very good condition included the box showing virtually no damage.

Note about 3D viewing: 3D viewing is evidently designed for optimal viewing with the TV's center at eye-level. I have and electric-fireplace entertainment center which seats the TV at about 40" above the floor. It is, therefore, above eye-level when sitting and 3D edge alignment diverges at the upper area of the screen. It is very annoying, more prevalent with lower resolution images and the TV provides no settings to adjust for this divergence. There are no adverse affects at related to height for normal 2D viewing. But if you do not want to have this nuisance while viewing 3D, you may want to be mindful of the height of your own TV stand or the height at which you might plan to mount this TV on a wall.

Other Thoughts: In general I like the unit, but wish for a more efficient remote.

5 out of 5 eggssimply stunning

Pros: this tv is awesome. there isnt much else to say really. i bought a 40" for my bedroom because this one was so amazing. ill buy LG for my PC monitor also once i get my PC delivered. price dropped right after i bought it and customer service gave me a gift card for some of the difference. GREAT SITE!!

Cons: the remote can be a little annoying, but youre not buying a remote, youre buying a television. first world problems.. right?

Other Thoughts: you should count yourself lucky if you have the extra cash to get a hold of this bad boy
