5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Every connection you could think of. Very nice picture. Many picture settings. Pretty good sound considering the brand/price. The USB port for on the fly updates is a nice touch. Looks very attractive. Doesn't look like it only cost me $900. Doubles as a 42" monitor.

Cons: Takes a while to start-up and get picture. The power cord is only about 5 or 6 feet long, but it's a standard computer power cord so no biggie. The picture from my computer was a little fuzzy but I am using S-Video for testing purposes.

Other Thoughts: Says in the description it only goes up to 720p resolution but my cable box (DirecTV) says its at 1080, I'm sure it isn't at 1080 res but my friends think it is ;). Would be nice if you could disable some of the connections that way you won't have to cycle through them all. Also, it gets a little warm for my liking but I am told it is normal.

5 out of 5 eggsNice tv

Pros: Excellent picture with Directv HD. Super Bowl looked awesome on it. No dead pixels. Very nice replacement for a 36" tube tv.

Cons: None as of yet

Other Thoughts: For the price we did not go wrong with this purchase. The amount of hookups is great. So many we probably will never use them all.
Wife was so pleased with the 323v tv we bought from newegg, we bought the 242v 2 days later.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Purchase

Pros: I purchased this TV from a store near me for a similar price, and have been very happy. Broadcast HD looks great, as well as DVDs. DVDs and Wii look even better at 480p. Standard Cable doesn't look that good, but thats most likely due to the poor signal from my cable. With standard rabbit ears, it gets all my locals in HD perfectly.

Cons: The only disappointment so far is the limitations on picture in picture split screen. There are 2 different groups: Air/Tuner, Composite, and SVideo in one group, and HDMI, Component, DVI, etc. in the other. You can only have one from each group. I wanted to be able to watch Air and Composite at the same time, but its not possible.

Other Thoughts: At this price, it is a great buy. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been a firmware update released since I got mine in November, and the customer service was no help when I called. I thought an update might fix the PIP problem I have.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful TV

Pros: Great HD picture , 1080p res. looks better than most expensive tvs. The built-in speakers are better than i expected, but they're not acoustic research or bose quality. But what can you expect out of a cheap hdtv with this kind of true resolution? This tvs worth every penny.

Cons: Cant think of any.

Other Thoughts: Had this for over 2 months and it still is working fine.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very good quality picture. 8ms and 720p are not "top of the line" specs, but I notice no smearing of movement and we have no source for 1080p. The range and number of inputs are more than we will ever use.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Delivery was prompt. TV was "as advertised" in every respect. If reliability is good, we are happy campers.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!

Pros: At this price point ($900 + free shipping), you absolutely cannot find a better bang-for-the-buck if you are in the market for a 42" LCD. 1080P panels are overkill for TVs 42" and under (do some research on this - I did). DVDs from my upscaling 1080i dvd player look spectacular, and basic cable doesn't look nearly as bad as I had expected after I calibrated the TV to my preferences. I first saw this model on display at my local Target, and it was on a par or surpassed "higher-end" brands. Plus, it has 2 HDMI inputs, and the sound was surprisingly quite acceptable, though I will soon be running the sound through a receiver. Shipping was no-hassle and easy, and AIT agreed to deliver a day earlier than promised due to my work schedule. Your mileage may vary (I live in the Seattle area).

Cons: If this TV craps out on me, I reserve the right to change my review :) For simple peace of mind, it's worth the extra $70 for the 2-year extended warranty.

Other Thoughts: What are you waiting for? You cannot find a better 42" LCD at this price point. Plus, the free shipping and Newegg's stellar customer service made this decision a no-brainer for me. Do it now, before the market demand for these babies goes up, along with the price.

3 out of 5 eggsOlevia Customer Support Stinks

Pros: Great picture. Good tuner - pulled in 19 digital and 16 analog channels from a rural antenna.

Cons: Olevia customer service deserves its terrible reputation. It took about 45 minutes to get an answer to my query. Although the supplied manual states that a HDMI cord comes with the 242V set, it does not. According to their rep, it does come with the 242T model, but this difference (there are others as well) is not disclosed up front in the specifications. Their technical support rep was very snide and condescending in his justification of this shell game.

Other Thoughts: I was prepared to buy more Olevia products until my experience with their technical support rep. I have lowered my rating of this product accordingly. Caveat Emptor.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV Great Service!

Pros: I'm completely impressed with Olevia's TV.. Between my GF and myself, we own two 237v's an one 242v. Ordered this one when the price dipped a few bux.. shipping was much earlier than projected.

Cons: None with the TV but somewhere along the line, the shipper stuck a set of fork-lift forks through the box. Didn't appear that there was a problem at first but on turning on the TV, one fork had managed to push the screen in far enough to kill about 11 pixels in a group.

Other Thoughts: Called Newegg, they handled the return, got a new unit out to us, we swapped the damaged unit to the same shipper who brought the replacement unit.

Extremely good service, great prices, amazing TV..

5 out of 5 eggsA good choice

Pros: Clear resolution which makes for a clear picture. Wasn't sure about the brand, but apparently it's a pretty good quality tv. Plenty of inputs to choose from (there's more than what the picture shows) so I have a Xbox 360, computer, DVR, and external sound system setup. Response time for input signals are fast (DVR is slowest). Now I just need to get a high def DVD player (and some HDDVDs).

Cons: Power cord was a bit short for us and most of the devices we plug in are from the opposite side of the input ports making it a bit tight, but that mostly depends on the length of the cables.

Other Thoughts: I've only heard about Olevia's poor customer service, but it's a great peace of mind with the extended warranty service newegg offers. 42" is perfect size for gaming and watching movies. I fortunately got this tv at a lower price than what it is now.
