4 out of 5 eggsOld and still working

Pros: Great picture for 720P, will accept 1080P resolution at 60hz.
has lasted a long time without much trouble.

Cons: this model is notorious for bad solder on the power connector causing the set to fail.
it is a very easy fix, the power supply is separate and held in with 6 screws, simply re solder the bad spots and it is up and running again.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware Olevia

Pros: Great picture and sound.

Cons: This television quit working after just over a year, leaving me with a very expensive paper weight. The company provided technical support, but nothing that could bring back the picture. Beware Olevia.

Other Thoughts: The design and function of the remote is so poor that you'd swear that you're holding something made by the Soviet Union cirica 1954.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

Pros: Very good picture (who needs 1080p on a 37"). It does what it says it does!

Cons: The wallmount sticks it out a little too far (big gap between wall and tv) but it's no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Great tv for cheap.

1 out of 5 eggsBroke shortly after warranty expired

Pros: This was a very disappointing purchase.

Cons: This tv quit after 6 months. There was nothing we could do. We got burned.

Other Thoughts: Avoid Olevia.

5 out of 5 eggs"Beats The Competition For The Buck"

Pros: For $599, It was not only the best buy but the only buy!Has all the basic functions for HD T.V. The tuner is very good at picking up all channels. Colors are accurate and brightness/contrast ratios are excellent. The audio is clear and loud at 30 watts and can be herd over your screaming kids, yelling wife, and barking dog. Has all the necessary input jacks needed and then some. And the cherry on top makes it a very great monitor!

Cons: The "OSD" menu is not exactly intuitive but you will get used to it!

4 out of 5 eggsGood HD Starter TV

Pros: Easy to use. HDMI, and many other inputs. Never had any problems with this TV.

Cons: NOT 1080I.
Too high priced for only 720p. HD is 1080 lines not 720p.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure you could find much better. But if you can find this on sale it's not a bad entry level TV.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat T.V. but step up to the 537H

Pros: This was a fantastic television while it worked!! After owning the t.v. for two weeks the Component 2 input went out I had luckily kept the box around which made the return extremely simple. I sent the T.V. back and spoke to a supervisor who told me that they would send a new set out as soon as they received an email from UPS saying that the set was en route. I sent it out on a Thursday and did not receive an email from the supervisor stating that I was to receive the new set. I called that Saturday and spoke to a person that was absolutely no help at all. I then called on Monday morning and spoke with a supervisor who had my 237t upgraded to the 537H. The difference is huge! I received the new set on Wednesday, 6 days after sending in my other set. the 537H comes with a learning remote control and all the color setting that you need. On the 237t there is only color scroll bar. The 537H has Red, Green, and Blue controls which gives way more control in dialing in the color.

Cons: Never call Olevia on a weekend they send you to an overseas call center. On the weekdays you speak with a national call center, and they are actually able to help you.

Other Thoughts: The 537H is way better if you can buy that t.v.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE THIS TV......

Pros: Lots of inputs, Split screen and PIP and 2 HDMI.

Cons: Setup is alittle slow going at first but once you get the hang of the way the menu works. Black levels are alittle confusing at first.

Other Thoughts: With the Olevia know that the only real standout is the PIP. If thats what you were looking for then these are your tvs. The speakers arent the best but do well enough for anyone just looking to hear everything going on on your screen. The outputs are enough to put a sweet set of speakers for all your sound needs. And the remote is fine. Its the same basic remote that ships with any LCD tv. logitech has some sweet universals that can make it all better for you remote freaks..... Like me..... Being not an audiophile and Just getting into HD era stuff this tv is amazing. Also I have installed a number of lcds where I work and this one is lighter and runs pretty cool which impressed me whose seen a fujitsu cook an egg......

2 out of 5 eggsHorrendous customer service - now on 3rd product replacement

Pros: My 337H had a great image and was a nice TV until 11 months in when the HDMI input failed. My experience with Olevia has gone downhill since...

Cons: Many defective sets, apparently, and the customer service of this company is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE.

Other Thoughts: I enjoyed the 337H model until HDMI failed. It took 3 months and about 10 phone calls to get the replacement unit. That was defective as well - a horrible picture that no amount of adjustment could fix. It took another 3 months to get the 237T as a replacement - which I received a few days ago and set up yesterday. The 237T powered on once. I unplugged it as directed before attaching other input devices and when I plugged it back in it would not power up. I am dreading the process of attempting to get yet another replacement, but I cannot afford to throw money away. I'm thinking of filing with the BBB as someone else mentioned.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent TV when it worked...TERRIBLE COMPANY

Pros: Looked good for about 6 months....

Cons: Either power supply or board failed after 6 months so I called Syntax Brillian's support. Read anywhere on the web and you will see consistent views that their support is horrible. Their warranty is exchange but getting a process of replacement will take well over a month as their support states that the verification of purchase receipt takes 14-20 business days. Then, they will decide how they will handle the support claim...

Other Thoughts: Just an FYI, they have had several complaints via the better business bureau regarding their warranty fulfillment. In warranty situations where you are getting jerked around just file a claim with the BBB.
