5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: This TV is large. It has good color and I havn't noticed any outstanding problems with compression in the dark blacks or bright whites.

It has lots of IO and the VGA connector will allow you to drive the screen up to 1600x1200 from a PC (although, if you can, go get a DVI to HDMI cable and drive the TV via that).

The remote feels nice.

Cons: The TV menus can be a bit confusing because the menus change depending on what state the TV is in. For instance, if you are driving your TV from a computer and hit the "View Mode" button a Dot-by-Dot option will appear. If you are watching TV that option doesn't exist. This could be considered a feature but it does add to the complexity of the settings.

No picture-in-picture.

VGA input can only do 1600x1200, not the native 1920x1080.

Other Thoughts: If you are having trouble getting a good picture from you PC on this TV. Goto "View Mode" and select "Dot-by-Dot." This will keep the TV from overscanning which is what is causing you to lose an inch or so in each direction of your picture.

5 out of 5 eggsWELL RESEARCHED!

Pros: After looking at most offerings in this class, this Sharp stands out. I was impressed with the solid construction of the set and the stand. It bolts together with 4 SHCS and they even give you a hex key. For my application, the location of the inputs and controls is perfect. The picture even out of the box is spectacular but a bit hot. And, no bad pixels! The menus are intuitive and well organized. The profile is slim and bezel is narrow. The packaging is well engineered, just cut the nylon straps and lift off the box without struggle. With my experience with Sharp over the years, I feel confident not getting an extended warrantee. The paperwork gives a web address for a free 6-month extension on the factory warrantee and a higher level of support if you need it. Sharp is a class act and I like their products. I have a 14-year-old Sharp 25" TV in my bedroom and it's still perfect. I hope the same for this one. You are obviously considering this TV, I would recommend it.

Cons: The remote is light and has 4 sharp bumps or legs on the bottom, I'm cutting these off, they are uncomfortable. The color needs to be tweaked down a bit; it took me 2 minutes to get a satisfactory picture. The bezel is gloss black and reflects light sources from the room, it's annoying. I plan on sanding it or finding some other way to make it flat black. The infrared pick-up isn't as sensitive as I would like. My old Sharp would pick-up the remote signal with the remote pointed anywhere.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this on Monday and received it on Wednesday before Noon...BEAT THAT!!! I like the sound even though some audiophiles didn't. It fills the 20 x 15 family room just fine without booming or distortion. The TV fits in my fireplace and I'm looking for a video of a fireplace to play, preferably one with a baby roasting on a spit.

4 out of 5 eggsNice TV. Cheap remote

Pros: I already have a Samsung but I think this one is the best LCD for the money. It's an Aquos! Samsung is $50.00 cheaper but Aquos is the best

Cons: The remote is really cheap plastic feel.. but who cares, you watch the TV not the remote.

5 out of 5 eggsNo issues yet

Pros: Great picture quality. I have it connected to a PC on one of the 7 inputs and it looks huge and amazing. Turns on and changes channels quickly, unlike some other TVs I've seen. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Cons: Can't change the names of the inputs. They are listed as Input 1-7; for the HDMI inputs it will display the device name if the device is powered on. I do notice a slight blur when playing Call of Duty: World at War on my Wii, but barely worth mentioning. Collects dust on the base and front outer casing.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a stand that can hold 70lbs; I had to take the wheels off my stand.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy In MS

Pros: This a huge set for such a low price. The picture quality is subperb. Remote has backlight button and can control quite a few other components.

Cons: View mode which stretches the picture only has four options, stretch, dot by dot, s. stretch and zoom.

Other Thoughts: Picture is great and sound is adequate. I didn't buy it for the sound, I bought it for the picture and if you are buying it for sound you will be dissapointed. I also looked around and found some video settings that helped me get the most out of my picture and you can too. Delivery was fast and decent. I purchased it for 1399.99 and it went down to 1349.99. Spoke to a newegg rep and was credited 50 dollars! Newegg rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for the $

Pros: Great TV, a lot of inputs. They must have made some changes to the factory settings to the picture because mine looked perfect out of the box.

Cons: Side inputs. I had to hook up 1 of my devices on the side input due to the fact that I ran out of rear inputs. Looks kind of tacky.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome LCD

Pros: Very nice display: Color is rich and screen shows no glare (one of my peeves with nearly all other brands). I went into local stores and looked at all of them side-by-side. Sharp consistently had my attention over all others. People will argue about Sony, Samsung, etc, being better, but it is really personal preference I looked long and hard at every single brand in several stores. Sony was too expensive and Samsung was just too shiny and and the image was not as crisp to me.

I don't see any banding at all on this model either, and I've looked for it a lot. Can't see it whatsoever. Controls are awesome and settings are seemingly unlimited. I'm displaying it also as a PC monitor and it is phenomenal. No overscan and it is as clear as any LCD I've ever seen. Gaming looks great too. No lag at all, that I can notice.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I also like that this model is thinner than most others. Nice plus. Also, I looked at all the 120 hz models in the stores and they didn't seem realistic in motion. It looked weird and disjointed. I'd prefer not to have it, let alone pay extra for it.
