1 out of 5 eggs6 years ago, it would be 5 stars

Pros: ~85W power consumption configured
- good ATSC receiver (critical since I won’t pay for cable)
- great tech support

Cons: - according to tech support - product will not receive any future firmware updates.
- Sharp website firmware is older then the one in my TV. Confirmed by tech support, …so, how will people download the latest firmware?
- uneven frame surface – shady design and construction.
- severe clouding / bleed spots w/o signal
- ui/menu system same as one I had on my 5yo Aquos. (it was bad then)
- menu system is confusing. Lots of options for things you won’t care about, AquosLink (buy more Sharp gear)
- NO EPG (TV guide) - Sharp TVs don’t extract tv guide information from the ATSC signal. Only program title, NOT EVEN start/stop times. When you know what other manufacturers have done with this info, you wonder, why so lazy Sharp?
- Hard to get good colors
- black and grays look a lot like your old LCD TV
- Remote hasn’t changed since 2004 – it was bad then, it still is. Tiny buttons, illuminates 4 buttons

If stuck w/useless internet - search youtube for "jailbreak sharp aquos"

Other Thoughts: I owned an Aquos back in the day when Sharp was considered a top brand, and wanted to get the very latest from what I thought was still an excellent brand – I REGRET THAT DECISION!

It looks like the technical know-how has left the building and now there’s just business people repackaging old technology. The quality of the product is questionable, as is the feature set. They’ve done very little for the consumer (me) …so, it’s quite sad, but I would not recommend this product to anyone looking for more then just a basic HDTV with an ATSC receiver.

South Korean companies focus on the user experience, and in my opinion - are WAY ahead!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The blacks are as deep as you can imagine, whites are pure no interference or colored blotches. HD is clear and crisp. Set up was easy and to the point of getting you to watch TV

Cons: The INTERNET connection to Sharp is useless, only their widgets are available you can't do much with it, was a waste upgrading to it. Isn't a clock with out going to the widget also no program guide, I couldn't believe it. I hope I overlooked this feature and it is really there.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice to be able to surf the web or at least read your emails and or send them. A program guide even to go to TitanTv for a free guide.

5 out of 5 eggsBest. Picture. Ever.

Pros: Absolutely breathtaking picture with the deepest blacks and most vibrant colors I've seen (even better than considerably more expensive models!), tons of options to tailor it to your liking, very slick thin glossy black bezel, all the inputs you could want, excellent customizable Internet features, flat rear surface (ideal for wall-mounting).

Cons: Seems a tiny bit fussy about HDCP via HDMI from my PC, but that could be more of an issue with my video card than the TV. Every other HDMI device I have (DVD, BluRay, Xbox 360, Satellite, Cable DVR) works perfectly with it.

Other Thoughts: Allow me to discuss the picture a little further. I have 20/10 vision, and have looked at virtually all of the current 52"-55" LED-LCD sets available on Newegg and elsewhere, including the (in my opinion) very overhyped 240Hz models. Not one of them has a picture to match this set in my opinion. I magine we will see even better sets in the not-too-distant future, but for now, this is as good as a 52" HDTV gets. If I could give it higher than 5 eggs, I would.

4 out of 5 eggsCrisp Picture. A Good deal

Pros: Great Picture. The set looks great sitting on my entertainment center. Cabling connections are user friendly

Cons: Not much so far. The interface could be a bit better.

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with this TV and would love to get another one. I think my wife wouldn't be too excited about that idea but two of these with college football playing on both would be awesome.
