4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Quick response time. 1080P

Cons: Power cord is not removable from the TV which made wall mounting a little bit of a chore. Two dark spots about the size of a thumb print were in the pixels. Hoped they might go away but didn't. Called Sharp two weeks after the 30 day refurbished warranty and they said sorry pal. And then sent me an extended warranty ad in the mail : (

Other Thoughts: Don't notice the dark pixels to much. Black scenes play very well.

5 out of 5 eggsRebate??? What Rebate???

Pros: This picture is better then anyone elses TV I know. Now when I watch someone elses tv I notice how good this one is. I have a AV that upscales everything to 1080p and this picture is amazing. Sharp makes the best pictures for the money period.

Cons: This was suppose to have a $100 rebate.. It claimed 45 days. Well it has been 90 days and nothing. Why do all rebate companies not send your rebate until you call and prove you should get one.

Other Thoughts: Rebate companies seem to be a scam. You shouldn't have to hunt down the rebate and call 4x after 90 days to get it. They should send it at 45 days like they advertise.

Who knows if I will even get it. Never count on a rebate until it is in the bank.

5 out of 5 eggsCrisp Clear Picture

Pros: I upgraded from a Sharp 37" LCD that was a top model a few years back 63u. I wasn't expecting the picture to be better being most LCD's over 37" can lose their picture quality. Not this LCD, it has an Awesome picture! I'm Impressed with my purchase. It has exceeded my expectations. The picture is great! The on screen menu is easy to navigate. Lots of controls and inputs. I would recommend this LCD.

Cons: Does not like sunlight or high lighted rooms. Best in a dark room. Dark Movies need to be adjusted using the Backlight. Turn up the backlight during movies to fix the dark faces.

Other Thoughts: The remote is cheap. For the price I paid from Newegg I highly recommend this LCD.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: Large screen
Good for bright screens (e.g. sports)

Cons: No dark contrast
Buggy firmware
Refurb

Other Thoughts: I owned this for two weeks, but returned it because of the buggy firmware and the low dark contrast. The unit kept turning itself off even with power saving disabled. Forget about seeing details in dark screens even in a dark room. Even Sharp acknowledged that "dynamic contrast" has to be turned off on this unit in order to stop screen flickering. Black colors also exhibited a blueish hue from an angle (even if you simply watch the screen from 4").

Sadly, I had to spend twice the amount on Sharp's second-best panel (that still shows serrated edges on horizontal lines on Netflix HD movies), but Panasonic plasma would have been the next step up and I could not handle the weight and did not want a reflective screen. Refurb means that (1) short warranty ("extended" warranties hardly ever work unless they are from a respectable local store) and (2) other people disliked it too and in this case, you do not even get what you are paying for. If you never watch movies with dark screen and are able to befriend the above problems, you can buy this unit.
