Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: I bought this model for an upgrade for the hole family for xmas. Easy setup out of the box. Of course everyone is different and has there settings they like so it may take some time to set it toward your liking.. Pic looks great.(but you need a cable/sat box to get the max. pic out of this model. I am very pleased with this model. It has more then enough add ons for almost anything you should need to hookup to it.
Cons: After 5 months our unit starting to have power/signal problems. When you turned it on it did not know if it was on of off. (on, off, on, off) and I would get colored snow every now and then, then the pic would come in clear. Let me tell that Samsung has a Great warranty service. Went on line files a claim for repair. Fast replay to my claim. Samsung service tech came out and repaired my unit. Back up and working great with no problems.
Other Thoughts: First let me start off by saying I did my mine unit at Newegg. At the time they did not have this model. But if they had then Newegg has great deals I would buy from them. I do not know if it is worth buying a model that 240hz over this one that has 120hz when all broadcasts are done in 60hz. I know that the main thing to look for is the response time. The lower the better. You would have to be the judge of the cost diff and options for your test. I know that I am very Please with my model.

Other Thoughts: I couldnt see spending the extra $ for the 2ms. It responds extremely well and plays the samsung bd1600 blu ray without any problems as well as the Xbox 360.

Pros: Excellent price/performance unit. PQ very good; menus intuitive; game mode; online and USB flash-upgradeable firmware; supports picture and movie playback from USB devices; lots of picture and motion control for fine tuning.
Cons: Nitpicky: no s-video, speakers are worthless.
Other Thoughts: I love this set; at $1400, it's a grab. Free shipping is pretty big; not sure how Newegg does it, but usually sets of this size are sent motor freight and unboxed at your location to make sure they aren't DOA.
I know Samsung positions this set as a mid-level (the 650 is rumored to be better, also the 7xx and 8xx series) but I think the PQ is fantastic. Settings out of the box are fine for most, a little bright for dark room movie viewing. Tweak the settings and you'll see a dramatic improvement.
