5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: 240hz, brightness, view angle, colormetrics/geometric accuracy, inputs

Cons: price, poor bios update procedure, slow internet, slow to turn off or on. Poor color matching design.

Other Thoughts: Agreed, the bios update procedure is truly a moronic design. I have multiple devices hooked on my TV, took me a minute to figure out it was the TV trying to update.

Also dual screen is amazing on my computer. From Word <--> Excel side by side to World of Warcraft <--> Online resource (thottbot) to just plain web browsing <--> web browsing.... awesome. Texts are crisp / clear even at 1920x1020, video/video game 240hz smoothness 2ms, awesome.

Final thought, I also do video recording and photography, and the color is very difficult to match between screen and output. Although accuracy wise is true to original, matching it with other devices is a feat.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: Nice specs

Cons: Too pricey

Other Thoughts: I was going to buy this tv today, but the price jumped an extra $400 literally overnight, so I will not be purchasing anything from newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat TV with very minor issues.

Pros: Great picture quality with 1080p source. Very dark blacks and rich vibrant colors. Very large amount of options to tweak the picture settings however you please.

Cons: This is the only problem i have seen with this TV so far. When playing any gaming system (PS3/Wii/360) you will need to switch to Game Mode. Game Mode will not allow you to use 240hz but it reduces most of the lag. I tested with games like Mega Man and Street Fighter and there was a large amount of lag with Game Mod turned off.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth it!

Pros: True 240Hz, it's there, you just have to have the systems to use it correctly. Such as: Blu-Ray, PS3, True Hi-Def Sat. (Direct-tv, Dish, etc...). I do not reccomend this hooked up with a PC. However it does work fantastic. Reason being, The picture quality (viewing experience) is better if you put your video files (avi, mkv, etc.) on a USB drive and hook it directly into the side of the television. It makes a huge difference, Trust me.
Pros: True 240 hz, USB Movie 2.0, 4 HDMI slots, Versatile control with Remote. PC hookup-Rec: DVI-HDMI, 2ms for gaming (-Ghosting), Ultra-Clear Picture, Quality.

Cons: DLNA-Is still yet to be as good as we all intended. It does come with software to share you media with your PC. However does not work as good as oe would hope, Samsung is working on this. Questions or Concerns- go to the forums, and do some research, I can't wait til they get this portion corrected. This is one of the reasons why I use seperate USB drive to watch movies off of my PC, the other is: Unless you have a superb Video Card, than it will appear less then desired. The fellow with a 295 written before, may not have any problems. I run 2x8800 Ultra's (SLI).

Other Thoughts: My brother bought the 8500 series 55inch LED, for himself for Christmas (early present, aalmost a month ago) I recieved mine almost 2 weeks ago, and when my brother came over to see if I was just giving him B.S., when I told him my television had just as good a picture as his with TRUE 240HZ, he was amazed. Like the LED it has a 3D effect the way the picture pops out at you. Trust me, if you haven't seen it before, you have to! In order to see what your missing. (Easiest way: hook-up Blu-Ray movie and go to menu on your remote (this tv) and switch from normal to Dynamic. And get ready for an all new viewing experience.
Also something else, my brother and I talked about this, after watch one of these televisons for a while, you will notice, when outside in the real world, things seem a little different. You will see what I mean (perhaps).
Thanks for reading, hope I helped with any questions and/or concerns some of you may have.

4 out of 5 eggsAgreed

Pros: Beautiful screen. Breath taking blu ray. Colormetrics accurate, geometrics faithful, smooth motion, multiple I/O options.

Cons: I agree with the below poster... what idiot decided to blank my entire screen to update? For the love of a motherless goat, release an update to fix THAT update. Multiple times in the middle of my movie / game, the updates showed up and ruined everything.

Fire the idiot who came up with that, PLEASE. Never design again, not even a rock.

Finally, the speaker could improve a bit, lower output but good wattage... what gives?

Other Thoughts: The screen itself is beautiful, no dead pixels, clean, smooth, silky motions/animations. I love it to death.

The online function is slow, and has an annoying way of updating your bios. Fire the idiot who came up with that please, i thought i was the only one annoyed. Doesn't take a genius to know consumers/viewers don't like to be interrupted.

So my advice, after you update to the newest bios, unplug ethernet and periodically plug it in to get an update, not worth the annoyance.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Television.

Pros: Beautiful screen, Beautiful ascetics, no ToC stuff.
Seriously - this TV is great. Played around with the controls on it and I have a very smooth very responsive display that works well for XB360, Wii, and Ps3 as well as my Dish HD-DVR and my PC.

Was able to network this to my home PC's and media serve directly to it. Nice. Neat little built in programs like Youtube and other things like that.

Cons: Couldn't afford 2 of them.

Other Thoughts: Just an awesome TV.

4 out of 5 eggsaddendum

Pros: I wrote a very positive review above, I have noticed my first annoyance, please read below.

Cons: What brilliant designer decided it's ok to interrupt whatever I'm doing to FILL UP MY ENTIRE SCREEN with a "do you want to update" ?

Some times we use this tv as not just a tv... ie computer monitor extension, gaming, giving a presentation. and interrupt everyone? Put it in a small letter box somewhere on the top/bottom, not the WHOLE screen.

Other Thoughts: Genuis, whoever came up with that one. VERY frustrating, almost costed me my job.

5 out of 5 eggsClarification and Justification

Pros: I felt compelled to write something after reading some of the other reviews.

AWESOME tv. No dead pixels. Perfect chromatics after some adjusting, edge to edge. 240hz is 240hz. It's still not "fast enough" because either you're using a computer that hiccups, a cable signal that's dirty, or a console game that has high sprite scenes. If anyone has seen 240hz, I promise you it is breathtaking if coupled with a high def signal or blu ray.

By the way, there is a PIP option. Do more research before writing it, it may mislead people. PIP to cable / air, HDMI not in PIP.

World Class Samsung glass

Cons: Reading ignorant reviews about this tv.

Other Thoughts: This tv was priced at $xxxx when I first saw it.. and I patiently waited until there was a healthy price drop. I love it. I can't ever go back to non-240hz.

PS3 / GeForce 295 + this tv = awesome.

I kind of have a keen eye for aberration, either in color or geometry, but this tv really gets it. If people want more than what this tv can offer, for this price, please email me. You can't beat this.

1 out of 5 eggsNot All its Claiming to BE..!!

Pros: Its A Beautiful Television what name brands aren't. NO ToC thanks for getting rid of that whose "big idea" was that. Remote works from amazing angles.

Cons: The Anti-Ergonomic Remote with its weird hook at the base. 2ms refresh rate is still not fast enough to prevent judder/blur in gaming. Specs say PiP...DOES NOT HAVE PiP model LN40B750U1F. Widgets are slow to load and few. TAKES 9 Seconds to turn on when pressing the power. Can't see the touch buttons on the TV itself nor are they lit up if its on no option to light them up. Channels load slow standard cable takes about one second and digital nearly two seconds...and satellite two to three seconds..good thing for the guide channel... Theirs more but too miniscual to mention

Other Thoughts: I've got the coax attached tried digital cable and standard. With PC hooked up and HDMI connected as well...NO PIP, option is greyed out unable to highlight, no button for PIP on the remote either. Don't fall for the 240hz hype. Do some research its just not worth the price. One REMOTE design should be made with ergonomics ease of use in mind and used for at least a decade. BUYER BEWARE. Do some checking first.

5 out of 5 eggsWhy did I wait?

Pros: I am an idiot for waiting as long as I did to get this TV. Once you have all your connections made to the back (and/or side), using the remote, you can setup EVERYTHING. I didn't have to touch the TV once to setup the Wii, dvd, vcr, audio reciever, it was all done with the remote. Tons of options, settings etc, that you can play with, so I do recommend pulling up the manual and printing it off, or have it on your laptop, whatever. 2ms response time seems like ZERO on everything that I have thrown at it so far, and is worth every single penny you pay for it. Well done Samsung!!

Cons: This is very minor, and I admit to being a nitpicker: the peel-off protective plastic was all over everything *except* for the screen itself. I don't get why the MOST important part was not protected with this stuff, honestly. I emailed Samsung about this, I mean they put the stuff on the screens for their cell phones for crying out loud...

Other Thoughts: Be sure to connect all your cables BEFORE you mount this to the wall, it will save you a ton of headaches. If you use the included stand, this won't be an issue. Samsung has outdone themselves with this one!!
