1 out of 5 eggsPractically DOA, Samsung support was TERRIBLE

Pros: The display swivels on its stand to accommodate different viewing angles.

Cons: Broke in four days
Before it broke, picture had noticable ghosting and input lag (with post-processing modes turned off)
Samsung support not helpful or understanding at all

Other Thoughts: Only four days after receiving the TV, it stopped displaying any images on the screen. (For the next bit, keep in mind I would have just RMA'd it to Newegg immediately, but for some reason I thought I read in the warranty info that this particular model could not be RMA'd to Newegg. My mistake, but regardless, Samsung support sucked): Samsung wouldn't replace the TV even though it was so new, insisting instead that it needed to be repaired. First, Samsung sent the wrong parts to the repair outlet, then they said the correct parts were back-ordered and we would have to wait. When a repair man finally did arrive with replacement parts, 28 days after the TV was ordered, they were broken. Just plain old didn't work. Speaking with Samsung support, telling them that this TV had been purchased a month ahead of time for a charity event, a charity event that was now only days away, still they would do nothing but tell us to wait. Absolutely unbelievable. Of course, while we had been playing games with Samsung for weeks, the window to RMA the TV with Newegg had closed. I called Newegg support, they said they would accept the TV RMA for a refund past the deadline (because Newegg is the best), and I bought Panasonic Viera TC-L47E50; Lower price, bigger screen, better picture, less input lag normally, and a nearly-lag-free game mode good enough for PC gaming. Very pleased all around. The Panasonic can't swivel, but hey, you can't have everything, I guess.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: No flash lighting that you get from LEDs. Very dark blacks and perfect colors. Amazing picture all around comparable to LEDs priced twice as much. See for picture settings for best picture.

Cons: Not a fan of the controller.
AutoMotion settings are great for sports but less impressive for cable and movies.
Doesn't come in 50"-55". This model is 40" and 46" and thats disappointing . Would have been more then happy to spend the extra for a larger screen with this quality.

Other Thoughts: The stand feels solid and the speakers are ok. Just don't expect the world from them. They become very tinny at higher volumes.
Due to the large size Newegg ships them through some other company. Was slower then Neweggs usual amazing ship times but being so large this was expected.
It arrived in perfect condition.

5 out of 5 eggsBeware Automotion

Pros: -AutoMotion doubles framerate in video games
-Automotion can be turned off
-No burn ins
-Lots of config options
-EcoSensor is interesting to play with

Cons: -Clunky unintuitive menu
-AutoMotion hitches on PC video
-Sharpness needs to be turned to ZERO to make a PC look natural.
-AutoMotion makes standard film look like it is behind the scenes / Soap Opera / BBC
-Reds are abrasive

Other Thoughts: I use this only for general PC use. Image editing, Video editing, high end PC gaming as well as console gaming. I don't use it for television. The automotion is great to have on if you are playing a high end PC game that you aren't getting an awesome framerate on. it essentially doubles your fps. Surprising this isn't mentioned on the box.

For all intents and purposes, keep the AM off, except when you hook your PS2, PS3, GC, or Wii to the TV.

Got this TV as a free upgrade from my terrible old Westinghouse that had burnins after a few months.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: I agree with all the prior comments. Great picture, nice features, high quality TV. Really like the option to use the wireless usb adapter to get wifi access.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've got a couple Samsung TV's (this one and a 52"), and I agree that they make the best mid-range and high end TVs (just MHO). I also second the recommendation that you have to tweak and adjust the TV settings. Unlike the traditional CRT's which are usually great straight out of the box, LCD's need a tad more user-specific adjustment.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value for the Price

Pros: The television does a great job of upconverting Std Def cable and making it look phenominal. It is sleek with great picture quality.

Cons: Once the television is calibrated for the room there are no cons.

Other Thoughts: As was previously mentioned the Auto Motion+ it what makes the picture appear fake. Once it is turned off the picture looks normal (actually better than normal). It is easy to under rate a tv when you do not know how to set it up or read the owners manual. Once the television is set up for your room it is excellent. This is the same process for all LCD, LED, and Plasma TVs. Very rarely do they work perfectly out of the box without and tweaks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Great picture
nice features
sleek design
high quality

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I will just say that it's tough to beat samsung when it comes to anything LCD. The make arguably the best mid-range and high end TVs. Another reviewer mentioned servicing for a strange effect - what he might be referring to is Auto-Motion+. This setting is on by default but is easily turned off in the Menus. It makes everything look like a soap opera, but again, it's just a setting that can be turned off.

1 out of 5 eggsOkay, if you can put up with it

Pros: Brightly colored scenes can be pretty.

Cons: Had this television serviced by authorized service centers twice because of the "lightsaber trail" ghosting effect and slight discolorations and different backlight brightness on the right hand (and left hand, after the first "repair") portions of the screen. They have informed me that this does, in fact, "perform to Samsung specifications" and has nothing wrong with it. In other words, they are okay that this television has a poor picture. Do yourself a favor, save some more money, and buy a better quality television from a manufacturer who actually cares if their product performs well.
