5 out of 5 eggsAmazing TV!

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: First off I will say that I don't do many reviews for products but because of how happy I was with this TV, I went out of my way to write a positive review. I got this TV because I wanted to upgrade from my 720p TV that I had previously and I was most drawn by the price (talk about bang for your buck!). I was also pleased to find out that it had an array of settings for the backlight illumination and picture quality and I adjusted it to my liking. I immediately noticed the difference in picture quality compared to my old 720p TV and ever since I have upgraded, I thought I'd give myself a pat on the back for taking advantage on such a sweet deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU monitor

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: Lots of features for a 32" TV in this price range. I just ordered my second to use as dual monitors for my computer. I also use is for my xb1: great benchmarks for minimal input lag with proper settings.

Cons: Functions well. Just an FYI, if you use VLC for video, you will get tearing even with the proper antitearing settings on. This is not a TV issue, but a VLC problem. Just be aware you may need to change your player if you use as a monitor.

Other Thoughts: I noticed someone complain about clarity as a monitor: be sure to use the first port and set the input to PC. The proper hdmi port is the one marked dvi. It will turn off the overscan screen zoom and make the signal direct from your video cardcard so your edges won't hang off the screen.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat picture, but clunky and confusing menu

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: From a viewing standpoint (that's what tv s are about) it is terrific. Nice picture, good connectivity.. Has ports for ancient cables like AV.

Cons: Annoying and convoluted menu. HDMI ports come out of side so you need right angle adapter or cable. Scheduled viewing only works with component video so if you are away and want to make it look like someone is watching tv this is hit and miss.

Other Thoughts: Would buy again. More than enough for anyone's needs, unless you want a monster screen.

4 out of 5 eggsGood TV for the price

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: Good clear picture, numerous adjustments to fine tune, lightweight but doesn't seem cheap, and supports ethernet through HDMI.

Cons: The remote will not control the Blu-Ray player, but the Blu-Ray player's remote can control the TV.

Other Thoughts: It's not thin, but is solidly built. The downward facing speakers are a problem for some, but ideal for my unusual setup.

3 out of 5 eggsnice tv

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: it works. looks nice. picks up many local channels

Cons: not good for use as a pc monitor. The picture is terrible when connected to a pc and the resolution available is lower that 1920 X 1080.

Other Thoughts: buy for a tv type usage do not buy if it will be connected to a pc.

4 out of 5 eggsSamsung 32"

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: Inexpensive, light weight easy to move

Cons: 1080p seems a bit grainy.

Other Thoughts: ome will argue this next point, hdmis are on the side instead of the rear, ideally i would have liked to seen 2 hdmis rear and 1 side, but then this isnt really a con

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect TV

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: Great, simple TV. I bought two — one for my kitchen, and one for my bedroom. My requirements were simple: good looking, LED backlight, two HDMI ports, and no clunky Smart-TV garbage. This unit provided exactly that. The picture looks great from all sources, and the sound isn't half bad either. It's the perfect TV for both my kitchen and bedroom. It also has a really handy auto-on / auto-off feature that turns the unit on or off at a specified time. Super handy in the bedroom, as I don't have to remember to set the sleep timer before I fall asleep. The joystick control on the TV itself is also super cool.

Cons: My only gripe with this TV has to do with the auto-on feature. When you set it up, it asks what channel the TV should tune to when it turns on automatically. Unfortunately, "HDMI 1" isn't an auto-on tune option. As a result, I always wake up to the TV tuned to channel 3 displaying static, as I only use HDMI-connected devices with it. It seems like a simple software fix, so hopefully Samsung will release an update at some point.

Other Thoughts: The primary thing that drew me to this TV was the lack of Smart-TV features. I find that every Smart-TV I've used is slow, clunky, and only marginally useful. When you look at how much more you have to pay for those features (that typically only barely work), it becomes obvious that it's a marketing gimmick meant for people who don't do any research.

3 out of 5 eggsGood picture, not perfect tho...

This review is from: Samsung UN32EH5000 32" Class 1080p 60Hz LED HDTV

Pros: Good picture, remote control is easy to use. Perfect screen shape for anything on ESPN but not so good for toons on Boomerang (the manual warns against picture burn-in if 4:3 is viewed more than 5% of the time).

Cons: 1: DOWNWARD FACING SPEAKERS. Do you generally sit UNDER your TV? No? The audio sounds "funny". Guess they're trying to make you buy a soundbar!!
2: NO S-VIDEO "IN". But I knew that in advance.
3: Picture sizes are: 4:3, 16:9, Zoom 1 and Zoom 2 but it really needs a Zoom 0.7 for shows like SpongeBob - an adjustable "zoom" would be desirable, or maybe a "fit to screen" option. (ARE YOU LISTENING, MANUFACTURERS?!).

Other Thoughts: I haven't seen any new TVs that have enough connection options (S-Video, composite, vid-out). What's the world coming to! Buyer beware!
