  • newegg Smart TV with Smart Interaction Smart Interaction lets you access entertainment like never before – Voice Navigation and Gesture Control let you say commands and control TV functions with your hands, while Face Recognition automatically logs you onto your Samsung Apps account. Smart Content includes new ways to explore and locate your favorite shows, movies, videos, games and more. A Full Web Browser and innovative apps, along with new Signature Services, enhance your enjoyment.
  • newegg Faster Web Browsing with Dual Core Processing Samsung’s Dual Core’s processing speeds allow you to perform multiple tasks at the same time, such as using an app while downloading another one. It also enables faster web browsing while playing apps or TV programs that you’ve recently opened through the Recent History feature.
  • newegg Samsung Active Full HD 3D Whether you’re watching in 2D or 3D, Samsung Full HD 1080p displays picture quality that’s crisp, clear, and breathtakingly life-like. It’s as close as you can get to the real thing. The Ultra Clear Panel gives the image deep, dark blacks while the advanced dimming technology delivers more detailed contrast. Put on the 3D glasses to immerse yourself in the picture — Samsung only uses Active shutter technology, which is the only way to experience 3D in Full HD 1080p (when coupled with a 3D source such as a Samsung 3D Blu-ray player or a Full HD broadcast from satellite or cable providers). You can also convert 2D viewing to 3D, so you can watch sports, TV shows, and all your favorite programming in immersive 3D.
  • newegg Micro Dimming Pro By maximizing the contrast between lights and darks, Samsung's Micro Dimming technology displays a picture that is as true-to-life as possible. Our innovative technology scans zones across the image and adjusts brightness to deliver deeper, darker tones and brighter whites. It also eliminates the "halo" effect and any kind of image distortion that can happen with diffused lights. The result is a picture rich with vivid detail and accurate color reproduction.
  • newegg Clear Motion Rate of 840 Experience sharp picture quality, even when you are watching fast-moving images like sports or action movies. Clear Motion Rate was developed to accurately measure how well a LCD or LED TV can depict fast-moving images. Previously, motion-clarity was calculated by the frame refresh rate alone. But CMR offers a more complete measure by calculating 3 factors: frame refresh rate, image processor speed and backlight technology. A CMR of 840 pushes motion-clarity to advanced levels of breathtaking quality. LEDs TVs with this CMR can display action-packed movement with ultra-sharp detail and the deepest levels of black and white for a superior contrast.

2 out of 5 eggsGood for the first year

Pros: This TV (UN46ES7500) is excellent in terms of both 2D and 3D picture quality. But that's the only thing that someone would like in it.

Cons: I purchased it on October 2012. After 1 year its WiFi component stopped working. I got the component replaced free of cost by a ServiceNet technician as the TV was still under warranty. After 6 months again a problem of random rebooting of the TV started. The TV used to be hung very frequently then displayed vertical lines in the screen followed by a automatic reboot. I contacted ServiceNet once again and they replaced the whole motherboard as the TV was still under warranty. After another 6 months, the WiFi component ceased to work again and I had the choice of only wired internet. Along with that, the frequent rebooting of the TV started once again. I tried every basic option that a normal person would try such as: reset it to factory setting, update SmartHub software, change HDMI/CEC/Anynet control settings but nothing worked. In the meantime, the TV went out of its warranty period. I searched in Google for similar issues and found large number of people complaining about the same problem with Samsung smart TVs. Some of them have replaced the motherboard and reported that the problem came back after a few days the same way as I reported. The above are not the only problem with it. Some of its applications also have issues. For example, the YouTube application, someone won't see the full list of items in a playlist that he owns. You will be surprised that only a few items of your playlist will be shown by the YouTube application in this TV. Most annoyingly, you won't be able to continuously play your playlist. The TV will start buffering indefinitely in between the songs. You have to pause it, navigate to the next item in your list and have to play the item manually. When I contacted Samsung customer support, after preliminary diagnostics they advised me to approach YouTube technical support. YouTube did not provide an ETA for the issue, in fact in the YouTube technical forum you will find people chasing YouTube for the same issue for years ..but nobody is paying attention...quite frustrating. I personally believe that it was Samsung's responsibility to get the issue fixed as the application came with their product. I finally stopped using the YouTube application in the TV and started using the one that came with my Sony BD player. There are also other applications, which are not operable by a Mouse or Keyboard. You can start the application with your mouse but you have to use the Remote finally. So, they are not smart applications as you think and get the impression about.

Other Thoughts: After all these experiences, I really don't have any more faith on Samsung as a brand and the reliability of the products as well as the components they use. The reason behind is not just the TV but also the Galaxy Note-3 smart phone I bought and the issues I faced (although resolved). Initially I was also thinking of writing a review on this TV and rate it 5 out of 5, but I thank myself for not doing that and waited to see how it goes after 1 year.

2 out of 5 eggsdo not hang it on the wall, just yet

Pros: looks nice, thin profile, voice operation, wifi build in, flash supporting browser, good sound (small room), 3D

Cons: quality issues, cumbersome navigation (slow, no keyboard), slow browser, jerking image, voice activation too sensitive (turns on by itself), wifi is probably not good enough for apps.

Other Thoughts: Tv will not power on with clicking noise (power supply?) after two months, customer service terrible (somebody will come in a week to service it, i have to take the tv off the wall, myself), support site is full of javascript errors. Browser is useless because it is slow, and navigation or typing is impossible. I was not even able to test the flash support, because i was not able to get to the website i wanted to get to. Apparently there is a keyboard, but judging by reviews of it, it is not much use either. It has wifi build in, but after contacting customer service it turn out that it should not really be used with smart hub, you need Ethernet for that. Conclusion, next time i will get a plain tv, i even wish it was broken beyond repair, so i can get rid of it and get myself something else.

5 out of 5 eggsAll around excellent performer

Pros: Excellent color and black levels. Capable suite of apps. Functional gesture and voice controls.

Cons: Gesture and voice controls are inconsistent. Better than expected, definitely not without limitations.

Some backlight bleed, but not awful and par for the course for slim edge lit LED's

Color needs to be calibrated for maximum results

Other Thoughts: A great TV, with some pretty incredible performance. The colors are vivid, the blacks are black, and it does a spectacular job of cleaning up artifacts on lower quality signals. The gesture and voice controls are fun to play with, but definitely aren't going to be your primary input method. The built in camera is surprisingly decent quality for what it's intended to be used for, definitely up to par with any laptop's built in camera.

Oh, and of course it's absolutely gorgious.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing TV!

Pros: Excellent price right now for a top notch 3D LED smart HDTV. The picture quality is amazing, it blew me away the first time i fired it up. The 3D is active tech & performs flawlessly, you can change the depth of the 3D in the settings & make it so it looks the image is going or coming out of the screen. The 2D to 3D function works well, although it seems unspectacular after viewing a full 3D content. All the Smart TV features work great & fast thanks to the dual core processor. Has Bluetooth tech so you can pair a BT keyboard with it. It will pair up with a media server. Comes with a regular remote & a smart remote which basically is a glorified universal remote but is a nice extra. Basically all the bells & whistles you could ever want or need as far as this gen of HDTVs goes.

Cons: The smart remotes touch pad is kind of sticky & the smart remote works sporadically with my cable box. Other than that this is one of the nicest TVs I've ever seen, let alone owned.

Other Thoughts: Get this model (7 series) vs the 8 series if you decide to get a Samsung Smart TV. The only difference between this & the 8 series is that this TV has a Clear Motion Rate of 840 & the 8 series has a Clear Motion Rate of 960. I was checking out a 50" 8 series at best buy today & could see no discernible difference between the picture quality of 8 series & a 7 series. The had one of each with 50" screens on display & i went back & forth several times. So unless you got the extra money to burn, i would recommend the 7 series.
