ViewSonic 16" (15.6" viewable) 720p LED HDTV VT1601LED

Pros: Nice little HDTV with quite a few connections that I wouldn't necessarily have expected at this price. The picture quality is decent for the size. Setup was easy and the instructions were sufficient. It was packaged well.

Cons: The sound of the speakers is horrible. They sound as if the sound would come out of a paper cup.

Pros: The perfect size for a large digital photo frame. Hdmi input that can be locked. VESA mount.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I paired this with a Foxconn AMD book size system mounted to the VESA mounts to function as a digital WIFI picture frame. I added a web cam, Picasa screen saver, Skype and teamviewer and I have complete remote access to manage photos and video chats with my grandparents. In fact there are no input devices connected to this system, as it gets moved from the kitchen table to the counter on a regular basis. I'm really leased with how this turned out but my grand parents are even happier.

Pros: I think just the right size for a Kitchen TV. Great HD screen image. Low power usage. Viewsonic brand.

Cons: None that I can tell.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this TV to use in a kitchen. I also purchased a swiveling wall mount from another online retailer to wall mount. Monjo price 3-Way Adjustable Tilt & Swivel Wall Mount Bracket. Both turned out our excellent. I am using the built in over-the-air tuner and a bow tie antenna to pick up 25 stations FREE! Image quality is great. TV is unbelievably light weight so a cheap mount worked fine to securely wall mount. It does have a somewhat narrow viewing angle, but the swiveling mount takes care of that. For 139 dollars, this is a great deal. Don't know why Viewsonic does not push this model more.

Pros: Good, sharp picture & nice sound.
Lots of ways to connect to it, including computer.
LED backlight, <25w power usage.
Nice styling.

Cons: The base doesn't tilt.
The setup menu keeps timing out and closing while I'm trying to learn it.
The remote has some flaky buttons.

Other Thoughts: This TV has good reception and works great, and I like the sound quality. (I'm using over-the-air antenna reception.) The base is permanently set to straight up 90 degrees, so you may want to get an adjustable base or wall mount for it. You have to be able to tilt the screen for proper viewing angle. I'm using it in my kitchen and it's just the right size. The remote is full size with a comfortable ergonomic grip and pleasant to use, but the arrow buttons are flaky and usually issue two clicks when pressed once. Fortunately, the arrow buttons are mostly only used for the setup menu, which a person wouldn't access very often. But, you can plug in a usb flash drive with pictures, and then you would end up using the arrow buttons more. That might become an irritation. But in my case I plan to mainly use it as a TV in the kitchen, and it performs well for this purpose.

For the very reasonable price I paid I'm very happy with this TV and I can live with the few drawbacks, no problem. I've been running it for many hours every day and it works great so far.

Pros: This is a perfect kitchen TV. It can be hung neatly underneath kitchen cabinets. Be sure to purchase a rotating mount because with LED/LCD TV's, viewing angle can be a problem. Remote is particularly convenient.

Cons: The speakers in these ultra-thin TV's can be awful. A pair of Acoustic Audio AA20x USB-powered speakers are a perfect match for this TV. With simple brackets from a local hardware store they also mount to the cabinet bottoms

Other Thoughts: Replaced an old Philips under-cabinet TV that gave many years of good service but was not up to the HD world.

Pros: Easily switchable between PC and TV input via the remote (although I haven't tried this yet). Good directions, including remote codes for major cable/satellite services.

Other Thoughts: Based on a great price this was a no-brainer to replace a clunky old 12" table-top. It arrived quickly and was simple to set up. I was concerned about the sound volume and clarity but it fills my home-office quite well and is easy to understand. Good directions, including remote codes for major cable/satellite services. Will mount to VESA standard arm (on order) but light enough to just use picture wire and picture hooks (do be careful to ensure ventilation).
