2 out of 5 eggsSceptre Great Monitors bad Tvs!

Pros: Was on sale and at the time was regarded as a good tv for the money.

Very Easy Setup

Lots of Connection ports, good MS

Cons: 1. As another reviewer had pointed out, There is a Buzzing noise when the Tv is Shut off that gets really annoying over time. Especially if its in your room where you sleep.

2. The Screen goes black momentarily and then recovers (this was also pointed out by other members). Thisi s known issue, And due to this is incredibly horrible when playing any games at all or at the high point of a movie.

3. Sound quality is ok, but youd be better off buying a good quality full surround sound.

4. For some reason the 1080p wouldnt work correctly and i would get many random black blips from time to time on the screen resulting in me having to use 1080i which was fine for awhile.

5. To many bad reviews on this product now after i bought it, and for good reason i find now that i own one.

6. Warranty people are a pain, make their own schedules and you have to make time for them when it should be the other way around.

7. If your Sceptre x460bvf120 breaks now most parts are not available by the repairing warranty.

Other Thoughts: Never moved tv from its position for 2 years, had 1 hdmi hooked up to it from a Denon receiver and it worked on 1080p for a few months, then 1080i for about a year, randomly while watching a netflix movie the screen went bright white and you could see shades of people in the background slightly still with audio, the warranty people were terrible taking forever to get to me and not letting me schedule a time for them to come but when they wanted to show up, eventually resulting in needing a new panel. Guess what they dont make them anymore, if your Sceptre x460bvf120 Breaks now its dead for good.

2 out of 5 eggsNOT 1920x1080!!

Pros: under 500 bucks, 120hz screen

Cons: ITS ACTUAL TRUE RESOLUTION IS 1680x1050. ITS A FACT. yes it supports all the modes by resizing.

Other Thoughts: Good cheap tv for the family room. And the 120hz is nice for under 500 bucks. but dont think your getting a SONY. cause you not. I got this from walmart.com, but i want my newegg buddies to be warned

2 out of 5 eggsExtended Warranty is Crooked

Pros: Television worked fine for over a year.

Cons: When it stopped working, I called the extended warranty service. The warranty specified repair or replace, but they claimed the right to deduct $100 off the purchase price to determine that the product was not working. Do not purchase the extended warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Shipping/Packaging

Pros: I got 4 broken TV's in a row... One of which I actually didn't even order and got after I got my refund.

Cons: I ordered this TV, and in about a week got it in the mail from UPS... All looked fine, but the TV was broken. Colored lines running down the screen, flashing colors, and the like... So I ended up calling Sceptre and they said they would cross ship me a new TV and then pick up my broken one... I dealt with Sceptre because of this option, since NewEgg needed me to ship it back first and wait to get my new one... Well after 2 cross shipped TV's that came in a box that had obviously been dropped a BUNCH of times I got my refund from NewEgg (Which was QUICK and Fantastic, thanks!). Then, a month later, OUT OF NOWHERE a TV showed up at my house... I called Sceptre and they said they sent it to me and still had a hold on my credit card after a month of sending the broken ones back and getting my refund... NewEgg has ALWAYS been great, but this rating is for Sceptre and UPS really since they dealt with this package horribly every time.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice TV!

Pros: This is a very good TV. Bought it on sale @ Newegg for $699 to watch the Superbowl. The picture is very bright and sharp even using my analog antenna. The HD channels are crisp and clear. It was easy to set up with plenty of inputs and outputs. It powers on quickly and I have heard no buzzing from behind the set. There were no dead pixals and the shipping cartons were double boxed. The remote seems to have a decent range.

Cons: The only reason I would knock off an egg is the sound quality when going past 25 on the volume level. This is really not a concern though as I am using the Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Digital Speaker System which sounds amazing and will rock your socks off!

Other Thoughts: Very Nice TV and I would buy it again in a heartbeat! I have seen my friends 46" Sony Bravia and another friends 46" Panasonic and they have nothing over on the picture quality of my Sceptre. My picture quality is ever bit as good if not better!

3 out of 5 eggsKnow a few things and youll be in love.

Pros: You cant get a better selection of inputs on a tv.. you just cant.

Its a beautiful looking TV.

It came without any dead pixels/white dots! Halelujah! Quite a chance taken when purchasing a big tv online imo.

Cons: Sound can deliver vibrations or distortion if you put the bass setting over 50-75% then jack the volume over 35%.

It seems once you hit 40% volume, it wont get much louder.. maybe a few decibels louder at 60ish.. hard to tell.

Mine came with the following problems that presented themselves shortly after a month (i believe) of owning it:

Every once in a while, the screen will have a 1-second blackout. Yeah.. Its extremely dissapointing. Some days it wont do it at all, and other days it does it every 5 to 15 minutes for an hour of the day.. sometimes just once a day.. It could be because of the Motionblur setting being kept on strong, but i dont think so.. as ive tested that theory and i think it still blacked out at times. either way, thats unacceptble in my opinion..

paid 900 bucks for this baby (this same size sceptre tv @60hz has been seen previously on newegg at only 700 bucks before if not 600!) and i had high expections for it.

Read more cons in Other thoughts be

Other Thoughts: After realizing that basic cable comes in semi-static like it was an antenna or something, a VCR hooked up will cause 2 to 3 second-long blackouts during the playing of tapes every couple minutes or so, and the power cord wasnt long enough so it came loose enough sometimes to cause the tv to literally freeze and crash; requiring a power cable pull and replug... and the fact that motion-blur free technology seems to just ruin everything it touches in framerate unless its blu-ray or gaming.

In closing: This TV has made my gaming/movie life paradise regardless of its many flaws ive encountered. I would take a chance buying another if It was a set i could purchase in person or i was rich enough to risk paying that much for a second.

I own a 23.6" sceptre and a 24" sceptre that work great, both earning 4.5 out of 5 eggs, and 2 more 23.6" sceptres on the way for a multi-screen setup.

If youre thinking about buying this and arent sure, heres my advice, Just go for it, better luck to

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for the price

Pros: Big and cheap. I bought this from Newegg on special right after Christmas for like $800 dollars. Its the best TV I could find for that price.

Cons: I have had no problems with this TV as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I've noticed that the price now is about $1200 dollars and I cannot say whether it would be worth that much or not. But I can tell you mine is a good TV that works.

5 out of 5 eggsNice TV, Nice Price

Pros: I received this set about 2 months ago and have had zero problems with it. I was somewhat concerned due to some of the negative reviews it has received. The picture is good, Avatar looked amazing played through my PS3 at 1080p. It doesn't have a low hum as some have complained about. My PS3 games look great!

Cons: About the only two things I can complain about is that the remote is a bit on the weak side, I read on another review that it was the batteries that cause this problem. I'll wait till the current batteries die to replace and then pass final judgment. The only other thing is that it had 1 stuck pixel, I would prefer none but at this price point, I really don't care and it's barely even noticeable. In fact, the only reason I even see it at all is because I know it's there. I asked my wife if she could see any stuck pixels and she said no.

Other Thoughts: The TV also came with more ports than what was listed in the specs so bonus for me =). It's a great TV at a great price, I was not disappointed.

2 out of 5 eggsbetter not

Pros: cheap, big. uuh. cheap.

Cons: Here we go. Bought this item new, not an open box or recertified. Remote was missing, manuals, warranty card, documentation missing. When the other reviewers say that the default picture settings are bad it is a HUGE understatement. Also an extreme pain (for me anyway) to set the picture settings; especially without a manual and remote. All petty stuff right? OK, my unit has these BIG light blotches all over the screen. When a scene is dark it literally looks like there's a spotlight shining in the middle of the screen. Blotches are also present on the sides and scattered across the top. I get white lines all over the screen. Theres lots of blur and blotchy picture. Motion blur settings did nothing to help. Online manual says the sharpness setting increases number of pixels the higher you go w/ the setting value. Mine gets sharper as you go down, like to 0. Alot of upclose images look just plain rough. There is some studdering in frames too.

Other Thoughts: I was really excited about the set, especially for the price-point. We tested it with several dvd's including some blu ray through the PS3. Bottom line is I'd rather choke out $1500 for satisfaction than $600 wasted on something that's miserable. This is miserable. RMA tomorrow.

4 out of 5 eggsGood TV

Pros: Great price. Lots of jacks/ports. Easy set-up.

Cons: I'm starting to get nervous about the increasing poor reviews for this set. Hopefully mine does not develop any problems. If it does I will return it and go with a different brand replacement.

Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with this tv as it was a big step up in size and quality over my last one. I have seen better picture quality but on sets that cost two or three times more.
I don't know why people complain about the sound. Who buys a 46" tv and doesn't plan on using a home theatre system?
The delivery company was professional and they called me prior to delivery as I requested, so I didn't actually have to sit at home for 4 hours waiting. But they only sent one guy. I helped him lift the box over a couple of steps and position the box in my home. If you aren't physically capable of helping to move the box and you need it brought upstairs then you need to pay the extra money for that service. Otherwise they just send one guy and he'll have to either leave it downstairs or arrange to come back another time.
