4 out of 5 eggsGreat deal for the price

Pros: - 42" is a big TV if you like to sit close
- 120Hz makes everything look smoother
- Playing Battlefield 3 on XBOX looks fantastic
- Picture looks fantastic
- Lots of inputs, easy to switch between them
- TV seems to be really efficient, can barely feel any heat coming from the screen while my old 720p 32" TV was like a small space heater

Cons: - When something this big is getting shipped by UPS, it's bound to get banged up. When I opened the box, the top left corner had a huge chunk taken out of it, thankfully there was no screen damage!

- The speakers are horrible. Next to no bass, very tinny. Do not buy this TV unless you plan on getting a surround system.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this when it went on super sale, however at its current price, it's still a good buy. I would recommend this TV!

2 out of 5 eggsNot so good

Pros: Low price.

Cons: Picture is not nearly as nice as other LED tv's I've seen. Also, the back light is very prominent during any dark scenes.
The sound is atrocious. I tried every setting possible, and it just sounds awful.

Other Thoughts: I bought this tv because it was so cheap, and I got just what I paid for. I should have spent more to get a better brand.

4 out of 5 eggs10 months and no problems

Pros: I have had since January and this tv gets used alot with netflix steams, local cable, and lots of childrens movies. Have had zero issues with this tv and the picture is still as bright as when it was new.

Cons: The sound is horrible as with every LED TV because of the limited room for good audio speakers, but with and inexpensive 2.1 Logitec speaker setup ($39) it is great. I have a 5.1 pioneer set up on it but unless theres a great movie on I use the 2.1 so the amp isnt run all the time. Back light bleed is very noticable during very dark scenes but not that much of a bother and just dont notice it anymore.

Other Thoughts: Others here complaining about problems should just spend the extra 400-500 bucks more and get what they perceive as a better TV. Im sure they will whine about that one too.
For $549 We are very happy for the value we bought.

1 out of 5 eggsThink twice on this one

Pros: Cheap inital purchase

Cons: We bought two 42" Scepter 1080i models some years ago, (locally) and both had disply failures in the warranty period. We had to eat the freight (almost $300 between the two) to get them repaired. Shortly after the second one was returned a vertical green stripe appeared on the screen and is still there. We did not want invest more money to repair again.

Other Thoughts: There are MUCH better panels out there.

1 out of 5 eggsgreat monitor, worst tv in the world

Pros: looks good in hd, ie gaming, computer monitor, blueray. everything else sucks so bad cant stand to watch it. i have a sceptre 24" monitor on one of computers and its awsome.

Cons: tv tuners absolute peace of junk. weather its over the air hd or cable (sd). pixilates so bad cant even hardly make out faces on the screen ( not even with slow movements)

Other Thoughts: would not recomend sceptre tv's to my worst enemy. totall piece of garbage unless used for monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for under $500

Pros: Great deal for LED. You won't be able to find an LED TV this size for under $500.
Bright colors
Easy navigation
Easy setup
Tons of ports
Swivel stand
Sturdy design

Cons: Backlight Bleeding. - It is pretty bad on any dark scene, I have learned to just ignore it but a simple extra peice of plastic could have prevented this flaw.

No option to alter backlighting! - So the first one normally isn't bad if you can change the setting right? There is no way to change it at all.

Sound is terrible. - I have mine hooked through surround sound instead so it wasn't a big deal but the sound on the TV itself is just laughable.

Other Thoughts: If you can get this TV for 499 or lower grab it, it's a great deala nd perfect for playing video games on. If you are a movie go'er, you will need to be able to ignore the backlight bleeding to enjoy this tv. Great TV for price, 0 dead pixels, no problems except for backlighting.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy sceptre....ever!

Pros: A good way to throw away money if you have too much of it

Cons: Sceptre may be the worst company in the history of TV making.... The picture on the tvs are pretty good given the low price. However, that low price is possible for a reason. The quality of the parts inside the tv are the lowest of low. I guarantee your tv will break down at least 3 times in the first year.
This problem is compounded by Sceptre's absolutely attrocious customer service.

Other Thoughts: Spend the extra money and buy a name brand TV. If you are like me and you think the negative reviews for Sceptre won't apply to you, you are a fool. The reviews are true, Sceptre is toxic. Save $300 more and get a tv from a real company.

4 out of 5 eggsSceptre

Pros: Good television, good value.

Cons: Blacks could be darker, but not a really big deal.

Other Thoughts: I am totally pleased with this purchase. I got it for a great price and so far, I have had no problems what so ever.
