Sceptre 42" 1080p LCD HDTV X420BV-FHD

Pros: This was a great buy for for the features you get, I've owned it for a year and have had no problems with the TV. I did have a HD comparability problem with the first Comcast cable box I used with it. Tried a different cable box and the problem went away. Great HD picture quality!

Cons: Low bass response but most flat screens seem to have this sound issue.

Other Thoughts: So if you want a good TV and don't want to spend a lot of money this is a good choice.

Pros: I have used this for several gaming systems, tv, movies, and the computer and all have been very clear with little to no motion blur.

Cons: The only con I have is the sound is weak, but what tv doesn't have crummy speakers now?

Other Thoughts: The base seems a little flimsy but once it was scre wed into position it is stable enough.

Pros: Price. I bought this during the Black Friday event. Best $300 I ever spent legally!

Cons: Can't complain.

Pros: Nice picture, sturdy, glossy frame, manufactured in America (?)

Cons: On/Off light is bright

Other Thoughts: Some people say they don't approve of the sound. I have to say that I believe it is better than the 3 other flat screen TV's I've owned. I bought this for my parents. They had a 28 inch CRT tube TV before this, and they are extremely happy. Be aware that you will probably want to shell out the extra money per month to get an HD box if you have cable.

Pros: Very nice picture with many inputs in the back

Cons: Sound is terrible, but hooked up to a receiver so doesn't make any difference.

Pros: Solid build, nice swivel stand (This really is a great feature!), decent picture, bright, good variety of inputs for price range

Cons: Slightly bulky, inputs are under a lip, the volume jumps between level 13 and level 14 (On either side of this jump, the volume progresses evenly, but there is a big jump in volume between 13 and 14. It's like they missed a level in between. It's not a deal breaker.)

Other Thoughts: For the price, this is a great TV for your kids or a second family/living room. Picture is pretty good. Colors look great, especially during sporting events. Sometimes there is a little backlight bleed during black periods between programming and commercials, but it's rare enough to not be bothersome.

Pros: Picture quality is above average compared to similiar models in the price bracket. There are plenty of inputs as described, hardly "limited". Setup was a breeze.

Cons: The sound is a bit weak, but I did not choose this model expecting the sound to be top end. That's why I have a separate receiver and speakers for my audio enjoyment. The stand does indeed appear "flimsy" but I don't plan on dancing with it. It sits on my table completely straight.

Other Thoughts: If you purchase a Ferrari, you should expect a Ferrari. However, if you purchase a Ford Tempo and you end up with a Ford Mustang, you would have a great deal. Purchasing a Ford Tempo and expecting a Ferrari is foolish. My expectations were low, but the results have left me a very satisfied customer once again. Biting the bullet on an unknown brand such Scepter was worth the risk and picking up New Eggs 3yr extended warranty gives me that little bit of extra comfort.

Pros: Great picture quality. Compares to my other sony tvs. A steal at this price. 60hz plays my xbox and live tv just fine.

Cons: Stand seems a little flimsy. Extremely bright power button.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the greatest. Bought this on black friday after seeing the ridiculous lines at target went home and bought this. Couldnt be happier.

Pros: Very good picture for the price, it is comparable to my father-in-laws new Samsung. Light enough that it can be installed on a wall mount by one person.

Cons: Sound is a pretty weak, but I don't care since I'm hooking up a receiver anyways.

Other Thoughts: Its was clear that was a TV from the outside of the box and needed to be handled with care, yet the packaging was severely damaged by UPS. I almost refused shipment because half of the box was missing and the other half looked like it had been through a war. I made the delivery man wait while I plugged it in and turned it on. Turned out ok but make sure you inspect it before you sign! I had a 24-inch monitor that was broken in transit by UPS and they refused my claim because my wife signed for it before inspecting it.
