1 out of 5 eggsHorrible pixel quality

Pros: I can't find anything good about this TV when the resolution quality is horrible.

Cons: The quality on this "1080p" is identical to 720p or worse. Pixel quality is so bad that its hard to see a clear picture. Worst TV picture I've ever seen. I bought it on sale on BF for $297 and I think I paid too much for it. Newegg should have discontinued this TV and or sold it at lower price. Now its sitting in a Box useless.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should discontinue this TV

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome TV, awesome price

Pros: Great picture, lots of inputs, awesome price.

Cons: Sound isn't that great. Went to hook up speakers and there is no internal amp, requiring us to hook it up to our receiver. Not a big deal, really.

Other Thoughts: Previous to this purchase, I only had experience with Sceptre monitors and those experiences have been good. This TV is truly a bargain and the low price is what finally brought us into the 21st century with our TV!

2 out of 5 eggsBad remote sensor on arrival

Pros: Low price and picture quality is not too bad

Cons: remote control did not work. I called and requested for a new remote from the manufacturer and it still did not work so I think the sensor within the TV is bad.

Other Thoughts: Not sure how I can return it or get them to fix it now.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value, forget the sound

Pros: For two eighty shipped you simply can't do better. Decent picture, plenty of HDMI in... not much to say. I like the VGA input and headphone audio output too. I bought this for a low-traffic viewing area and had some legacy A/V stuff to hook up to it so those older connections are nice for me.

Cons: Built-in speakers are awful. Granted as a rule you don't expect much from built-in audio, especially at this price point, but in my experience they are generally passable. These are not remotely passable. It's not just that they aren't powerful, it's that they sound like complete garbage. Tinny, vaguely dislocated, very poor quality sound. I'd rather they not even have boasted built-ins so I could have bought some externals up front.

Other Thoughts: Not docking an egg for the speakers because you really shouldn't expect anything out of them anyway. Also due to other reviews about the flimsiness of the stand I've been extremely careful with it and I don't expect any problems. Just install it correctly and be gentle with it and don't try and scoot this thing sideways because I can see the stand cracking under even that little stress. Even steady it with your other hand when wiping it down. Just treat it as fragile and you should be fine.

5 out of 5 eggsCompletely Satisfied

Pros: Purchased this TV in Fall of 2012 for $280 shipped, and have been completely satisfied with it since. I haven't bought a TV for my main room since 2001(no kidding, 27" Panasonic Tau), so I was pretty picky before I bought this, and read all the reviews on Newegg. I don't know if the complaints about the cheap base, poor speakers, or blue idle screen were just early versions of the TV, or were people trying to find fault, but I have experienced no such complaints. I am not an audiophile, but the speakers sound fine for regular TV, the base holds the TV up with no problems, and the idle screen can be changed from blue to black if so desired. I don't watch much sports, but I do watch racing, and was concerned there might be motion blur, artifacting, etc., with the 60 Hz refresh rate. So far haven't had any such problems. I also watch downloaded races from the computer and they look great too. Everything I have asked it to display, it has done so very well, and I am happy I waited for LCD's to come down in price before I bought one.

Cons: None that I can really think of. Everything I have thrown up on it has looked great. The only thing I haven't tried on it is Blu-Rays off of an actual BR player. But I have watched downloaded BR's and they looked very good too.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this is a fantastic value and great deal. If you are someone that needs the absolute best movie picture or perfect view of a game, I wouldn't think this is for you. But then again, I am assuming you are already looking at TV's that are 3-4 times this one in price, so you'll never read this review. For the other 80-90% of people that are just casual TV watchers like me, this is an awesome purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price

Pros: Multiple interfaces including 3 HDMI ports and USB, great value for the price

Cons: Not the best contrast ratio and really subpar onboard speakers but knew that going in

Other Thoughts: Bought this as a replacement for my son's TV in his room and he loves it. Need to buy a set of computer speakers to improve the sound quality but still a bargain at the price (under $300)

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: The picture is as beautiful as a 40 inch LCD with 1080p resolution can make it. No problems.

The sound is much better than I expected. Usually the sound on these less expensive TVs get distorted when you turn them up too high. But the first thing I watched on this was Inception on Blu Ray with my boyfriend. All the booming and explosions were clear.

The price was amazing. We found it for $279.99 for a promotional. I do not mind running up my credit card bill a bit for this TV. It was well worth the money.

Cons: The screw-holes for the stand weren't placed properly. It still went on, but the stand turned at a 45 degree angle. Doesn't look pretty and it takes up more space now. Might have gotten a defective one. I didn't take off points because we're mounting it on the wall soon anyway. So a faulty stand doesn't bother me much.

Other Thoughts: This is my second TV. My first one was 22" with 720p. There is no comparison.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for the buck

Pros: Price. Picture is right up there with high end brands. I like 3 HDMI inputs unlike many cheap tvs these days that have only one or two. As usual, New egg was right on the money.

Cons: I read everyone's complaint about the tv stand and thought "give me a break, how hard can it be?" they were right. I was one of the stooges that busted off the guide tab thingys trying to get the stand on. Ive assembled thousands of monitor stands over the years and this one had me laughing. The guide pins/tabs dont seem to make any difference with the stability so dont panic when one or the other popoff trying to get it on.

Other Thoughts: I dont think I have been more pleased with a TV in 20 years. The sound is not so great but I have yet to see an LCD for less than 500 where the sound wasn't comparable to a laptop. All in all, the sound is fine for a bedroom and I didnt bother getting a surround system as I planned too. Buy it. You wont regret it when you get your credit card bill next month.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product at good price

Pros: price was the calling card on this purchase. Picture is good. Works well as a monitor also.

Cons: Stand is shaky but works. Needed to loosen stand/mount upon installation.

Other Thoughts: overall, for the price this unit is great. Bought it because of the price and have no regrets.
