5 out of 5 eggs4.6.13

Pros: Replaced my old CRT TV. The screen is nice and big. Good with my PS3

Cons: It has a glare to it, it's not bad but note worthy

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this if you have a budget

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Price, weight, Features, i saw no down side to the tv, so i bought it, the number of HDMI ports was the main selling point for me, as I was looking to go all HDMI for all my units.

Cons: Arrived DOA. powered on, red indicator light in the corner came on, but it would not power on. seriously a bummer. wanted to just exchange it, but unfortionatly no more were available, and my RMA was changed into a refund. if i had known there were no more available then i would have contacted sceptre to have it fixed under the warranty rather than RMA it. but i guess that is why they call hind sight 20/20

Other Thoughts: I still want it. may look for it via other means online, while i prefer to shop online through newegg as all experiances to date have been extreemy positive, i got a bug in my head that will not let me over look obtaining this tv. ^.^;

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Extremely dynamic color and contrast, totally adjustable. Initial picture displayed was impressive. Extremely wide angle viewing impressive.

Cons: Still working on multiplexing sound, if using headphone jack for sound bar, TV speakers disconnect. Believe have a work around.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am greatly impressed by the TV, excellent display qualities, fairly thorough guided initial setup.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Suprise

Pros: I was pleasently suprised with this. Took a gamble, picked it up at 399.99. Everything worked great right out of the box. No dead pixels. Picture quality is better than what I expected for a 400 dollar TV. 3D works nicely with the glasses. Lots of inputs. Decent sound quality.

Cons: I think the colors leave a little to be desired. It doesn't look bad by any means, but it seems like no matter what I do the contrast just looks a little exaggerated. This is a very nitpicky observation and I think I only really notice because my other TV is a plasma so I have a decently high bar to compare it to.

Other Thoughts: This TV is great for the price. I picked it up as a set for the bedroom, and it sits about 15 feet away from our bed. The sound is good even in a bigger room, and the picture quality suprised me. I was hesitant to take a shot on Sceptre because I had never heard of them, but Newegg has been carrying them for quite a while now and I can honestly say I'm glad I took the plunge. If you're on the fence, go for it. This is just as nice a TV as the one you'll find down at your big box store with a 600-800$ price tag on it.

4 out of 5 eggsNice TV

Pros: Everything works as it should, even the speakers are not real bad. The picture is nice and sharp. set up was easy.

Cons: It wasn't delivered by a good looking babe.

Other Thoughts: For the money this is probably the best 3D tv on the market. It comes set on power saver mode, switch it to vivid right away.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for 3d movies bad for pc

Pros: The 3d works well

Cons: If you are going to hook this up to a PC i would highly recommend NOT getting this about 7-8 inches from left side is lighter than rest of screen which will really bug you when gaming. Light coming from the corners is also very noticeable. There is no option for back lighting.

Other Thoughts: as long as your not going to hook up to PC you may not notice how bad the lighting is.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it!

Pros: Cheapest 42" LED 3D TV on the market! Hooked up to my HD cable box and WD Live TV set-top box. Pictures look great in 1080 and even my SD/480 movies displayed from the set-top box look good! The 2D->3D function really works and real 3D movies look awesome! You just can't go wrong with this TV consider its low price and good picture quality and I can ignore all the minor short comings I have listed. The standard speakers are weak but if you set it in movie mode and turn SRS on then it is acceptable. I use my 5.1 surround system for movies anyway.

Cons: TV base attachment point feels flimsy, no wire organizer, weak speakers, uses a little more electricity than the big brands; about 5 bucks extra per year according to its energy guide so it doesn’t really bother me.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you don't turn on the TV right after you received it, let it warm up (or cool down during summer time) for at least couple hours (some people do 24 hours) unpacked (some people leave the plastic bag on, I took off everything) before plugging it in. This is to avoid any condensation that can cause serious damage to the TV. I live in the Northeast and the TV was colder than a popsicle when UPS dropped it off.
