Start seeing your living room in high-definition! Go digital with a flatscreen TV to get what you've been missing. Experience brilliant and vivid colors that pop right off the screen! Equipped with HDMI for easy and painless setup, this TV plays nice with all of your devices. Enjoy digital 5.1 surround sound when connected to a home theater setup.

  • newegg HD 720p Experience definition TV with progressive scan to deliver crisp and clear video. Movies and sports come to life with high resolution that is unparalleled detail and fidelity.
  • newegg Native Contrast Ratio Contrast ratio measures the difference between the darkest and brightest images that a screen can produce. Why does this matter? A high contrast ratio will prevent images from looking washed out. You won't lose detail in very dark or very bright scene. Blacks look blacker. Whites look whiter. You'll get a vibrant picture that pops off the screen! (The Coby measures and reports Native Contrast Ratio, a truer indication of screen performance. )
  • newegg 5.1S/PDIF Audio Surround your TV with digital audio. If you have a surround sound receiver or other compatible device, you'll be able to get pure digital sound from your TV via the Coaxial Out. Experience 5.1 channels of audio bliss in the comfort of your living room.
  • newegg Digital Noise Reduction DVDs, TV broadcasts, streaming video, and analog connections can all introduce slight imperfections to picture quality. Although you may not notice the loss in fidelity, the Coby tries to do better. The TVs are designed with advanced processing techniques to improve the appearance of compressed video.
  • newegg HDMI Connection The TVs are equipped with HDMI so that you can enjoy the best possible picture with the widest support for your high-definition devices. You'll find HDMI on the latest Blu-ray and DVD players, cable boxes, game consoles, and computers. (And don't worry if you have older devices. The TVs have got them covered, too!) With support for Full HD 1080p video and multi-channel audio carried over a single cable, setting up the home theater of your dreams is a breeze!
  • newegg V-Chip Parent Control The V-Chip Parent Control allows parents to block inappropriate programmes for their children.

1 out of 5 eggsAudio Out ???

Pros: Did not find yet

Cons: No Audio Out

Other Thoughts: I bought here this specific HDTV TFTV3227.
The audio quality is extremely poor, so I decided to connect this TV to external speakers (with amplifier if need be). But I can not find any Audio Out !!!
Please explain how these TVs can be connected to external speakers.
Thanks.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's okay

Pros: For the price, the TV was great! Some people are complaining about the picture, well it is a 720p with 60hz refresh rate, it's not going to be mind-blowing, but it works just great for games, blue ray movies, and even has a VGA port. I have no idea why people are complaining about the HDMI port, mine works perfectly.. maybe you have a bum cord?

Cons: Unfortunately, a few months after using the tv, it decided to not turn on every once in awhile when I pressed the power button. To fix this problem, I would just unplug the power cord and plug it back in. It would turn on after a few unsuccessful attempts. Other than that nuisance, the TV picture is great! Also, the volume and sound quality are not that great, but what do you expect? Stock speakers are never that great.. use the money you saved on this TV to get some REAL speakers!

2 out of 5 eggsRemote Feature DOA

Pros: New Egg RMA Service

Cons: The remote didn't work so I programmed my Logitech Harmony only to find out that the TV would not accept any remote. There was damage to the inside of the picture frame that looked like it came from the factory. The screen was fine however the black frame had a faulty edge that hanged down over the top corner of the screen.

Other Thoughts: The picture was pretty good. The specs say wall mount 200X400 but it is 200X200. I waited to by a wall mount. My replacement TV is a different brand that will need an adapter plate to make my 200X200 fit a 200X400. Ironic if it wouldn't have cost another $20.

4 out of 5 eggsMakes a great monitor

Pros: No dead pixels, no problems with installation. Connected to computer running Windows 7 64bit (ultimate) / MSI NF750 main board with an Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 video card via VGA/DVI adapter. Nvidia display driver 285.62. Set to 1024/768 @ 75Hz 32Bit color depth.

Hardware setup and color calibration took less than 20 minutes to sync with other monitor and printer.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: TV was purchased to be used as a monitor so I can't rate the TV performance; but, as a computer monitor it works very well. I set the TV display settings to factory default and used the Nvidia drivers to set the brightness / contrast / gamma and digital vibrance.

Although the box shows the TV as a model TFTV3227 720P 60Hz, Nvidia shows it as an LEDTV 3226 1920x1080 (native) 85Hz.

1 out of 5 eggs6 months and gone

Pros: picture was decent. It may not shine next to the others on the showroom floor, but who can tell once you get it home.

Cons: TV went black and screeched at me until I unplugged it! Warranty is for 90Days! I've had it for 180 days, +/-.

Other Thoughts: I never really used the speakers so I couldn't tell you about the sound. It got the same number of over the air channels as my computer, not sure if that's a pro.
I've had unfavorable results with Coby brand items in the past. Too bad I keep finding the price too good to pass up. Now I have to spend more money to get another one. I remember when I bought quality products that last... I still have a 6 year old rear projection that works just fine!
Just remember, you get what you pay for. But for a TV to stop working this fast? ridiculous!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's cheap if you know where to look. It can also come in other colors (we have a red one, the in-laws have a white one). HDMI works. Coaxial works.

Cons: I will agree with the previous comment (what I could understand anyway). The resolutions an older video card with this TV tries to accomplish are just mind-boggling. The best I could do was some ???? by ??? resolution (I don't even remember it!) and it still has a black border around the edges - which is the better alternative to having the resolution larger than the screen size. This was with a DVI-to-HDMI adapter.

On VGA, it's another monster. While it does play a bit nicer with resolutions and will do 1280x720 properly, it has this little quirk. This little quirk (and by little I mean huge) is that when Windows puts the screen in power-saving mode, it will cease function - can't turn it off or on, can't change the input source. To fix this, the TV has to be UNPLUGGED from the wall, then plugged in again and powered on. Very inconvenient. This seems to only happen on VGA, not HDMI.

Other Thoughts: My advice for the buyer concerning this product is "have low standards". If you are just wanting a cheap TV for a guest room, workout room, game room, garage, whatever - This TV will probably work. As for longevity, we have owned it for about 6 months now and had no problems with it yet, but my Samsung still has about 2 years on it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot tat great !!!

Pros: Low price (I got it for $200). The remote control is simple n easy to navigate, Tis LCD HDTV is acceptional for those tat does not care much about quality and just wanna a bigger screen size for their pc

Cons: TV hdmi input, the color is terrible, so much color smear and shadow. It look almost like you are in pc safemode.PC hdmi input is much worse. the color is okay but there are no way for you to adjust the screen to make it smaller to perfectly fit the monitor, you only can see the top of the task bar. I had try to set the pc resolution to its lowest and problem still. For vga input, it's more acceptional, letters are little blur here n there and must lower the screen brightness, if not ... good luck with your eyesight.

Other Thoughts: I got this for my brother and had told him to return it but he does not care much 4 the tv function, all he care was he got a bigger screen for his pc so lucky for Coby :-). I am just wondering tat even before Coby thought about mass productuion of this product, do they have some real tech or ... human to test to see if this product were at least on the acceptional scale ?
