Engineered to deliver full 1080p resolution, the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 1080 combines five revolutionary innovations in one remarkable performer. It begins with C²Fine 3LCD technology, the core of this powerful projector, designed to faithfully reproduce every color and scene.

Next, there's a proprietary lamp that provides consistent light from corner to corner, using the least amount of power, while 1080Perfect video processing offers full HD, 1080p performance with 10-bit color processing and HDMI 1.3 compatibility.

AbsoluteBlack technology delivers a 12000:1 contrast ratio and ensures the richest, deepest blacks. And the innovative OptiCinema lens delivers amazing detail and breathtaking color for spectacular results. Together, these state-of-the-art technologies, all within a single projector, present a total solution that exceeds all expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Brilliant picture clarity. Sharp and vivid HD that works great for HDtv, and looks even more amazing watching Bluray discs. Very convenient lens adjustements to pan up/down left/right without having to adjust the entire projector makes it easy to place it where need to but have your picture where you want it.

Cons: No complaints with this. Kinda of the big side, but so what.

Other Thoughts: Should just be noted that the vent in the front is an exhaust, not intake. Mine is sitting on a table, not ceiling mounted, so if you're standing or sitting just to the right of it you get a decent blast of heat on your neck, but it's not all that uncomfortable and you have to be close.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Man! Great Picture!

Pros: $2,499, 1080P, Looks good even in daylight. Great warranty. Mounted on the ceiling so kids can't touch it. (3 yr. old son with autism broke our 65" mits. DLP. then our 37" lcd). Had to go with a projector and this looks great even on our wall.

Cons: $350 bulb just about every year.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a cheap projector that looks great even without a theater room. Then You should buy this one. It is wonderful, we have a 106" screen but it looked great at 150" on the wall. Gray screen is best for daytime viewing.

5 out of 5 eggsNeighbor has this

Pros: If I was ready to upgrade from a 720p (currently using the benQ W500 model) to a 1080P, this is the BEST way to go. The price point is right and you are still getting a lot of what the over $3500+ projectors include.

Works VERY GOOD with xbox360 and PC via HDMI

Cons: Bulbs are $300 or so, but it is worth replacing at least once after it goes out in a year or two as 1080P is currently the highest resolution there is for High Definition.

Other Thoughts: continuing with the con, but not really a con, this projector is so versatile and has such a good picture with hardly any "screen door effect" to detect unless you are 3 feet in front of the screen, you will be hard pressed to find a better projector for this price even in 1-2 years time. Very much a good investment if you happen to have the cash.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent For Home Theater

Pros: Great resolution (1920x1080p), HDCP compliant, great color (for an LCD), nice variety of inputs, blacks look surprisingly good, low cost, etc.

Cons: The menu is lacking a few of the advanced options that other projectors have for resizing and keystoning. You have to mount the projector perfectly straight and use the manual focus, zoom, and lens shift knobs.

Any bit of light in the room will hinder your picture since this projector isn't the brightest one out there. I would recommend dimmer switched lights or pure darkness.

DLP still offers a better picture, and newer DLP displays and projectors do not exhibit the 'rainbow' effect like some claim. (at least to my eyes, and I'm pretty picky). DLP is still more costly. If you have the extra money for a 1080p DLP projector, go for it.

Other Thoughts: Ordered a universal mount for it, and they had to send me the extension arms (free of charge) because it was such a large projector.

I use this in my home theater with my PC and HD cable box. HDDVD's in 1080p look incredible. Best projector for the price IMO.

5 out of 5 eggs1080p @ 120" < 3K

Pros: As I said in the title, it's 1080p for less than 3,000 dollars and it will go up to 120" with no problems. Good contrast (for a projector). Lightweight, quiet. No rainbow effect (not DLP)... and no noticable screen door effect (because of the high resolution and design of the LCD chips)

Cons: Black levels are hugely impacted by ambient light (true of all projectors). Bulb is relatively expensive $350 every 3000hrs (true of all projectors)

Other Thoughts: Its brighter and cheaper than other 1080p offerings... LCD is far superior to DLP's rainbow wheels.
