5 out of 5 eggsGreat for gamers

Pros: This TV is a great TV for gamers. The picture quality is amazing for the price of the TV. It also isn't a bad monitor and I love the fact it came with a VGA cable. I also replaced this TV with my old monitor and It looks awesome. The TV does HD up to 1080i like the specs say but it also seems to support 1080p when I set it up with my xbox.

Cons: Although the video quality was good with games and my PC the cable quality was mediocre. The picture was a little fuzzy; however this could be due to my coax cable. I don't know how it looks with HD channels.

Other Thoughts: overall this is good TV for the price. I would definitely recommend it to any gamer looking for a good affordable HDTV.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Image, but no HDMI!

Pros: This works well as a video game system TV for systems that are using Component output. Regular TV looks good.

Cons: The moment you want to use this TV for 1080i/720p - (Upscale DVD / HD-DVD or Blueray) you will be out of luck.

This is because almost all of that media is copy write protected and will not "upscale" or show high-definition over an analog line (i.e. component video cable)

You will be limted to 480p max resolution over analog cables

(unless you have some 'gray' market upscale DVD player that does not use protection).

The lack of the HDMI port is likely why this TV is so inexpensive. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more cash for a display with an HDMI input.

Other Thoughts: The TV is smaller then you think. I would not buy it if you are going to be sitting more then 3-4 feet from it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood dorm hd for the price

Pros: The TV has a beautiful display with numerous options to help customize it to your personal liking. The colors did seem slightly off out of the box, but were easily fixed, and once they were they were gorgeous. It's able to do full screen, 4:3, and 16:9, so you can use the aspect ratio that fits what you're doing. The 20" screen is surprisingly large, much larger than I expected. I bought this tv to use for my Xbox 360, PS2, and to just watch tv in my dorm, and I couldn't be happier. It's a perfect size for a dorm, and my friends are all really impressed. Set up was extremely simple, and it has enough ports for everything that I need. The 176 degree h/v viewing angles are also nice because it makes the screen real easy to see from just about any location. If you're looking for a smaller HDTV option, this is definitely the way to go for the money.

Cons: The speakers seem weak when I'm watching dvds, but this could just be a problem with the dvd player because on my old tv I always had to turn the volume way up. I did notice that it is the same whether I use a console or a dvd player tough. They aren't so weak that you have trouble hearing them, just weak enough that they aren't loud, and background noise might cause you to have to rewind to see what was said. The regular sound for games and tv is just fine, though I still opted for an altec lansing speaker system to use with my Xbox.

Other Thoughts: I read a lot of reviews and looked for a very long time before purchasing this and I honestly think that it is one of the best choices for this price range, even including slightly larger tvs that are a about the same price.

3 out of 5 eggsIt just went dead

Pros: Was a decent little TV for the price

Cons: It's less than 3 months old and it's dead as of this morning

Other Thoughts: I had this TV a little less than 3 months as a bedroom TV. It was great while it worked, but this morning I went to turn it on and there was no power. I don't know if it's just a fuse or what, but it's dead as a doornail right now. We haven't had any electrical surges or spikes due to storms or anything, so this is very curious. I'm going to see what kind of hoops Envision makes me jump through to get a replacement before I do an exploratory surgery on it.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Gaming/DVD TV

Pros: This is a fantastic TV for the size/price range. This is my first ever non-CRT television, and I couldn't be happier so far. The quality of the picture for DVD's and gaming on older and newer consoles couldn't be better. I consider myself a very competitive gamer, and this TV has everything I expect: great response time, built-in headphone port for ease of use (roommates like it too!), the sound quality either through the headphones or the speakers is great, and it makes games look absolutely stunning.

Cons: The hardware stuff is a bit loud. The LCD beeps pretty loudly when it starts up, which could be a consideration for dorm room folks. There's also a clicking sound when you switch input modes, but I've been assured it's normal with this model. I don't have a good indication on how well it process standard cable television, because it looks terrible on my roommates TV's as well: we have terrible cable quality all around, so it's not a knock on the TV. Your milage may vary.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this TV to gamers looking for a good, cheap, small LCD TV. It's also used by a major console gaming organization for their competitions, which influenced my decision. I don't regret it in the least: great buy!

5 out of 5 eggsExccellent

Pros: This is an amazing HDTV for the price. It beats my old Phillips 26 inch to death. The contrast ratio is excellent, it has every hookup you would ever want, it is extremely lightweight and has a simple menu interface. Picture is beautiful. Even with the standard analog PC cable connected, this makes an amazing monitor considering its primary function as an HDTV: much clearer than the standard Gateway 19 inch monitor I was using. PC games and console games look amazing. Watching DVDs on my Xbox 360 with this TV is spectacular: almost everything looks like it is playing in 720p. This was NOT the case with my older, much more expensive HDTV. I actually don't watch television, so I can't comment on how the standard def tuner is. But if you're looking for a portable screen to play consoles with which doubles as an impressive widescreen monitor, you can't go wrong. I have had no problems with it.

Cons: Slightly awkward placement of PC hookup, made up with easy component hookup for my 360.

Other Thoughts: Extremely satisfied. Newegg got it to me in one day; I have no clue how.

3 out of 5 eggsGood.

Pros: HD picture. Widescreen. PC, component, S-Video, cable, and audio/video inputs. Headphone out jack. Adjustable image modes, 16:9 or 4:3.

Cons: Does not have any audio output other than headphones. TV does not respond to the "0" button on the remote control. It did at first but not anymore.

Other Thoughts: No dead pixels. Widescreen image is best shown with a widescreen input, like a widescreen DVD player, otherwise image is stretched to fit.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat TV!

Pros: Great for video games - i've got it hooked up to my 360 and it looks 5x better than how it looked on my old 15 inch HDTV. now i can actually sit kinda far back and be able to see the TV! I kinda like the beep it makes when it's turned on/off, but I can see why some people may find it annoying. Setup is pretty simple, but insert the TV into the stand and you're good to go. Very good TV for bed rooms with limited space - this is probably the biggest you'd want if you're in a confined space like I am. Remote control is pretty simple to use, and the setting are easy to navigate. Speakers are decent, but if you're a gamer, then you should get the logitech 5.1 speaker set like i have. Has a nice samsung look and feel to it, with the black on the top and silver on the bottom. It uses a pretty common power cable (that of a computer) so if you ever lose it you can pick another one up for like $1 used online.

Cons: Takes a little while for each source to get ready (ex. I turn on my 360, but the screen flickers for a few seconds before displaying the 360 logo), it usually only does this when you've had the TV off for awhile and you've just turned it on. The resolution of this TV is uncommon for many computer video cards. I have a fairly new geforce 7600 GTS and it doesnt support this TV's resolution (1366 x 768). 1080p would be nice.

Other Thoughts: I may plan on getting another one of these in the future to set beside this one because right now i have a 15 inch HDTV to the left of the Envision one for high def television viewing, but I'm very impressed with this TV so i may replace it with this one! Very good price for such a great TV.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Cheap LCD television

Cons: Cheaply made. Terrible warranty policy.

Other Thoughts: I bought this TV back in January and finally have a working one in June. First one arrived looking terrible. Everything was pixelated and generally looked bad. Sent it back only to have AOC/Envision send out the wrong model to me after having the product in their possession for over a month. They wouldn't refund my $50 in shipping for their mistake, so I had to eat that. I asked for a refund but they just wouldn't give me one, even though it had been months after my purchase and I still didn't have my TV. I finally received it the other day, and it looks decent. Not good, just decent. The customer service of AOC/Envision is what really would deter me from buying this TV again.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for gaming!

Pros: as an xbox 360 owner who'd been playing on an SDTV since I bought the system in November, I'd had friends tell me "you gotta get an HDTV, it's so much better!" Well, they were right - the picture is so crisp and clear using all functions of my 360. And unlike other TVs of this nature that I've seen, I can see the picture clearly from all angles...

Cons: However, it could be better with a standard signal. The picture is somewhat fuzzy, though that could just be the difference between the HD and SD...

Other Thoughts: The sound is pretty good on this TV, i like the option of being able to switch the view between 16:9 and 4:3, and programming intended for a 4:3 format still look great in 16:9 with hardly any noticeable stretching of the picture
