1 out of 5 eggsL22W898 Monitor

Pros: It was relatively cheap for an LCD TV, but not worth it at all.

Cons: 1 - There was a dead pixel when I first received it.
2 - It stopped working entirely after 3 months.
3 - Doesn't work well with HDMI.
4 - Remote is absolutely terrible.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this product. It was the worst tech decision I've ever made. Don't make the same mistake.

1 out of 5 eggsDead On Arrival

Pros: Price. Also, it looks like AOC has improved the menus a bit from their earlier models.

Cons: Did not work properly right out of the box. After a few seconds of watching TV, it would shut itself off and it could not be turned back on. Unplugging the set for a few seconds would reset it and allow you to watch a few more seconds.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of an earlier version of this set, and have been very happy with them. Because of this one bad experience, I would not necessary avoid AOC in the future, but I had to give this particular product a 1 rating to adjust the average.

1 out of 5 eggsBad QAM tuner

Pros: Inexpensive with an acceptable screen rsolution.

Cons: The QAM tuner (digital cable) on this thing is horrible. When changing a channel, the tuner will occasionally flake out and take 10 seconds to pick up a channel. At that time the TV is stuck while trying to lock in. Channel surfing is impossible with this TV.

Other Thoughts: If you wish to take a digital feed direct from your cable provider, avoid this set.

3 out of 5 eggsBad Packaging Bad pixels

Pros: Great Picture, both VGA and HD. Even Standard Def tv is good.. I did not have to fool around with picture settings to get a good picture. Speakers are fine for such a small tv.

Cons: Packaging was Sub par. I was very surprised New Egg shipped it in the original container and didn't put it in another box and at least fill it with shipping peanuts? Box arrived at front door ripped, but no real signs of abuse.

This is my first LCD with a dead pixel. I find this is unacceptable. I don't see how anyone can buy something new and be ok when it doesn't work 100% I'd love to send it back but I think there is some INSANE rule that requires more than 7 or 8?? dead pixels.. 1 pixel glows RED in the lower right corner, you know, that part that is BLACK when watching standard Def or High Def that doesn't fill the screen (why is that?) Anyway, I'm disappointed with the shipping, the fact that it has a dead pixel AND that the dead pixel is in a real annoying position..

This is a minor con, but the remote is the size of a brick. Weird how big it is for the limited functions it is responsible for.

Other Thoughts: I've been shopping from new egg for years and this is my first really irritating purchase. If you want to take a chance on horrible shipping and "handling" with a good chance (from other reviews) that you will have at least 1 dead pixel, then go ahead and buy this LCD. Like I said in the pros, the picture is VERY good (I have 4 LCD screens and this one is probably the BEST) but I feel like I got a second rate product quality wise.. NE let me down.. I guess it had to happen sooner or later.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performing Television

Pros: For the price the picture is great working up-to 720p, and is great playing xbox360. Channel search is intuitive and a great menu layout for setting adjustment.

Cons: Maybe my expectations were a little too high, but audio can be very tinny at times.

Other Thoughts: This Television is a great choice for a kitchen or bedroom, however it is insufficient for living room or an entertainment system.

Even despite that, it is great value for the price paid.

Pros: Very nice tv for the money(was on sale for under $200 then!)
Nice picture,great details.

Cons: The sound could be a lot better!(Even after adjusting all the settings)

Other Thoughts: You might want to get a wallmount with it so you can get it up high on the wall.

1 out of 5 eggsPlanned Obsolescence

Pros: Worked for a year

Cons: Died 10 days out of warrantee. AOC would not replace unit.

Other Thoughts: This is a review of their 19" TV I purchased a year ago. Their products are not longer on newegg except for this monitor so I'm venting here. TV died after 1 year and 10 days. Called AOC service and they said no dice on warrantee replacement, so if you don't mind replacing stuff a lot buy this brand.
