5 out of 5 eggsgreat plasma

Pros: Over 1 year and still the best deal around! Color is still perfect, games look super on this unit, movies too. I recently upgraded my cable service to include HD and my Viera shines with the HD channels! Thanks NEWEGG!

Cons: Volume, volume, volume! The volume is weak when watching movies but fine on TV or gaming, and is superb with HD channels.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Have had this plasma for over a year and have had 0 problems. I love this tv, and as soon as I'm ready to upgrade in a few years this tv will be going into the bedroom.

Cons: Took some looking around on forums to get the colors just right on the tv. Also there is a bit of glare when the sun is shining on it, but that's pretty much with all plasmas.

Other Thoughts: Have no regrets making this purchase and Newegg was awesome as always.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for Price

Pros: Great Picture. I don't have cable and use a Terk antenna for OTA signals. The picture on this set looks as good as my Hitachi 1080i set with cable. The menu's are very easy to navigate. I also use it as a monitor for my laptop to watch movies or surf the net. Easy to set up.

Cons: None right now.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this set can't be beat. Don't let anyone tell you that there is a big difference 720P & 1080i, I can't notice it.

4 out of 5 eggswoo

Pros: color reproduction out of the box
size / price
plenty of inputs
programmable anti image retention

Cons: Useless submenu's and options
viera link useless as well
Glare
Hooked it to my pc for an hour or so on bioshock 2 and
got temporary image retention quickly on the gun (stays in place mostly)

Other Thoughts: SHUT UP ABOUT THE SPEAKERS ITS A TV not a soundsystem.. Do you cry about your monitor or laptop speakers too? try to fit a 2 story speaker set into a custom laptop and im sure you could sell thousands

PC games dont support thier own anti image retention plus they run frames rates around 30. bioshock 2 running at 60 frames a second must make it flip out and the 1 min image retention is not sufficient for that amount of frames apparently. Image ghost went away after an hour of tv watching. Scrubbed kids fingerprints off a little hard and can see the anti glare film (that doesnt work) starting to scrape off.

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent TV at a low price

Pros: Amazing picture
Good colors
Lots of jacks
Good SD viewing
Reliable
One can hardly (if at all) tell that it is not 1080p

Cons: Sub par sound (but this is not a TV's job so its hardly a con)

Other Thoughts: This was my first HDTV purchase a little over a year ago, I did a ton of research and decided this was the best for the price (about $1700 at the time). This TV has been nothing but good. Although I did hear that it has a slightly higher lemon rate so get a warranty like you should with anything that expensive. A few other notes on the TV:

-Get it professionally tuned. I had the place of purchace tune the colors and everything. It made things look a ton better, before that cartoons with bright colors like spongebob looked odd, they look great now.

-Get a sound system. The stock sound is not good enough to support anything, spend $100 on a decent sound system and you won't regret it.

-The family uses this TV for everything from SD videos to blurays to the latest video games. It looks simply amazing.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat tv for the price

Pros: - Fantastic price.
- If you're 8-9 feet away from the TV, you'll never even notice it's 720p.
- SD content looks awesome compare to my much more expensive 1080p Samsung LCD (~2 years old).

Cons: - Only 2 HDMI outputs on the back, which are far off center so you see cables hanging down.
- No analog RCA sound out (toslink only)
- Colors aren't as bright as an LCD. (some might list this as a pro)

Other Thoughts: After reading a lot of various opinion, it seems a lot of videophiles recommend a 120 break in of a color slideshow and then entering specific settings. So I thought I'd give it a shot as I didn't need to use the TV right away. Well I entered all the settings as instructed, and everything looks balanced, but rather dull, especially compared to my LCD.

Cranking the color up helps, but if you turn it up too high, skin tones start to look noticeably off. The vivid mode looks really funky compared to my Samsung vivid mode, even with tweaking, so that's a no go.

Don't get me wrong, the it's a great set for the price, and the colors when adjusted is great. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of this TV when comparing it to a slightly smaller LCD that cost 4x as much. It doesn't have that "wow factor" that my LCD has, but this maybe a good thing in the long run, and might be better for movies rather than lousy cable TV.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat tv

Pros: Great picture, user friendly VERY FAST SHIPPING.

Cons: Sound

Other Thoughts: We also spent a long while debating LCD vs Plasma, 720 vs 180p. Samsung vs Panasonic Etc. This tv meets all of our expectations so far. I cant tell the dofference between the picture on this tv and on my 1080p sony that is in our bedroom. This seems to be alot of tv for a little money. Great Job newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this tv

Pros: We decided to purchase a plasma vs lcd after viewing tv's at a discount store. We liked the picture on the 50" 720p plasma better than the 1080 lcd. It was then that we decided to purchase plasma. After researching plasma tv's on the internet, we decided to purchase the Panasonic X1 from Newegg. The price w/shipping was unbeatable. The factory settings are suboptimal (too green), but found a website that had recommended settings. We thought the picture was good, but after upgrading our satellite receiver to HD, the picture was awesome! The picture is crystal clear.

Cons: Sound is okay. We purchased a sound projector and subwoofer (don't have it hooked up yet).

Other Thoughts: We're very pleased w/our Newegg experience. Shipping was fast. TV arrived in geat condition. We opted to hook it up ourselves - very easy! It is a heavy item (80 lbs) so caution is warranted.

5 out of 5 eggsviera 50" 720p

Pros: not a bad tv. it has above average picture. can "tune" picture to your liking. not a bunch of hdmi inputs if needing more than 2. for this tv i dont. speakers, i dont use, so dont know how they sound. for the price its a great buy. as for plasma vs. lcd... dont have much of an opinion, but i like this plasma.

Cons: first tv had a broken screen. refused shippment. always check item before you sign. got rma for replacement. it later turned into a refund. they didnt have a "replacement" at time of receiving broken tv. the funny thing is that a day later they had the same tv again for sale on the web site but for $100+ more. so after a few live chats i got the tv replaced for the original price. wasnt easy.

Other Thoughts: five eggs for tv.
four eggs for the hassle factor
