5 out of 5 eggsPanasonic VIERA 50" 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV TC-P50U1

Pros: Hello, I just purchased this from Newegg, and after I read the reviews here I ordered it, later that day I was searching for info on it and came across this.

NEWEGG IS GREAT!

Cons: Search for "Why are black levels changing for the worse on Panasonic's plasma" we NEED to call Panasonic and tell them to FIX and repair this issue, after reading the post from CNet Panasonic WILL NOT FIX this isssue, I was shocked to read that from a great company, so everyone and I hope Newegg will contact Panasonic and put pressure on them to fix this. Within 6 months significantly degrade

Other Thoughts: Heard back from Panasonic, and if you're impacted by the lightening black levels, don't expect a fix. The company has deemed this adjustment to be a typical response to the set reaching a certain stage of its lifespan. As a result of this response.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: Great image. HDMI works as expected. SD card reader option is nice for parties. No dead pixels, nice stand.

Cons: I swore the glare would not bother me. But sadly I had to change the room layout for the TV. It was well worth it for the picture quality. Pick this over a LCD if it's in a basement . If it's facing a larger picture window that you want to keep open this is NOT a good option for you.

I listened to the stock speakers for 10 seconds.....they worked. :) Then turned them off and went back to 7.1 Surround.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent TV for the price!

Pros: Great picture quality, good price, a great upgrade from my 7 year old 42" LCD that I had (occupies the same footprint as my original did), easy to set up and integrated well with all my components.

Cons: Really, I haven't had any negative issues that I've noticed. I'm not some super videophile, though, just a guy who appreciates a good picture quality.

Other Thoughts: Haven't noticed the "heat issue" that everyone says is inherent with plasmas. So far, it doesn't seem any hotter than my old 42" was.

4 out of 5 eggsNear 5 Star

Pros: Great picture if you make sure to tweak the settings. Tons of inputs. Great off-angle viewing.

Cons: No VGA. It does not forward 5.1 surround sound through the Toslink out. No anti-glare (but it's not terrible).

Other Thoughts: Would've given 5 stars without the sound issue, it dumbs any sound input through hdmi to stereo, so extra cables are needed for a receiver.

5 out of 5 eggsGood TV

Pros: Nice picture and sound. Panasonic makes good panels.

Cons: Screen is very reflective, but that comes with the territory.

Other Thoughts: Bought this about 8 months ago from Best Buy and even got it color calibrated. Love watching Planet Earth on it. :)

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: Great picture at a great price. I paid $899 while this was on sale with free shipping. Arrived in like a week. Very impressed with the picture quality, I was looking at the G model and as far as I could tell the only difference between this and the G was that this model does not have the anti glare screen. Overall I am very glad I purchased this TV.

Cons: The glare is bad if you have a window behind where you are watching the TV from. Luckily I just had to rearrange my room so that there is not a natural light source behind where I was sitting to view the TV. I have a pretty dark living room even in the day time so the glare is not much of an issue for me. But if you have a bright living room you are going to notice the glare, especially with dark source material. At night it's not even an issue.

Other Thoughts: The prices on LCDs have been dropping recently. I suspect if I had waited I might have been able to get a bigger TV for similar prices, but with electronics you pretty much just have to know that whatever you buy will be outdated within six months. I don't regret getting this TV only wish I could have gotten a larger one.

5 out of 5 eggsHomerun

Pros: Good Blacks, Very clear vivid picture, Easy to set up, Looks absolutely amazing with Blue-ray Player, Love the Viera link, SD Card slot, Lots of video imports, 3 HDMI ports. I ordered the TV on Monday morning and received it on Wednesday before noon. AIT did a fantastic job with the shipping and as always newegg provides the great priced product exactly how they promised. This TV is absolutely beautiful.

Cons: No VGA port but luckily my video card also has a HDMI hookup, would much rather use that to my regular monitor but it truly wasn't a big deal at all.

Other Thoughts: This TV is alot heavier than I had expected I am not mounting mine on the wall but if i was I would make sure your mounts can handle this bad boy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Picture is just awesome, especially when playing a BlueRay movie. Easy to setup and adjust the controls to what suits you best.

Cons: Screen has a little glare during day time, but easy to overlook, once the TV is on

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV, and great price!

Pros: Very vivid picture with a great blacks. Also quiet. No color degradation from off angle viewing (A problem with ALL LCDs and DLPs). Many inputs so I can have my XBox 360, Wii, DVD player, and computer plugged in all at the same time. The sound from the built-in speakers is not bad considering they are only 10W each.

Cons: No VGA in, but my graphics card has an HDMI out so no problems for me. Might be for others with older, not-so-high-end graphics cards on their PCs. Only an optical out, but should not be a problem with a modern receiver.

Other Thoughts: I wish this TV came with a programmable remote, but it's not really a Con as most TVs don't ship with one. I love fact that I can label the inputs on the TV menu so I can see and not have to remember what input goes to what device.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Very Good Picture, Much better then the LCD and LED's that I saw. Has one of the better ratings by true HD guru's in the world. Does not get hot like my friends other brand that starts with a S and ends with a G. Buy it from Newegg! They have great shipping and prices!

Cons: Not too many at all. Just little things, but nothing that keeps me rating it as a 5 of 5 stars.
