5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV, one caveat

Pros: Excellent tv for the most part. Not as many features (oh no two hdmi inputs instead of 7 or whatever) but the stuff that matters like picture quality is top notch.

Cons: One glaring and ultimately silly problem- the media player firmware only recognizes external media formatted in FAT32. Obviously this means no files larger than 4gb can be accessed, so no watching HD movies off your SD card or USB drive.

C'mon Panasonic, is it really that difficult to use a file format (NTFS) the vast majority of devices and computers have used for at least a decade? No doubt this was done intentionally so people would be forced into spending $80-90 or however much for their proprietary wi-fi dongle (or the cheaper equivalent which is still $25). But still it's frustrating they failed to add one feature which would arguably make this set hands down the best plasma in its size class.

Pros: I consider myself an above average consumer (when it comes to knowledge of tech products) with a discerning taste for quality, but I generally am not one to purchase high end products considering the tendency for technology to change so quickly. Therefore, when I'm searching for a TV, I look at the lower end products and research these until I find something I like. In this case, this TV was a no brainer because I knew I wanted a plasma, I like the Panasonic brand, and I got this TV at a great price through an employee purchase program. This TV is outstanding in it's picture quality right out of the box. It's quality bests anything I've seen in the stores at it's price point, and even exceeds many of the higher end TV's. Buy this and you will not be disappointed unless you're looking for a larger screen or 3D capability or some other high end features.

Cons: These aren't specifically cons but I want to make some quick comments on some of the negatives I've heard about plasmas in the past. GLARE- There is some because of the mirrorlike screen but the antireflective coating stops most of this. I've even had a direct light in front of this TV and can still see it with no problem! BUZZING NOISE- There is none! These aren't really cons but I thought I'd write these here for anybody that is unsure about a plasma tv. For the money these TV's cannot be beat. They are superior to LCD's in my opinion, and I've owned both types.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for an excellent performing TV at a great price then consider a plasma over an LCD. The performance/price ratio cannot be beat, and you cannot go wrong with Panasonic.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT!!

Pros: I purchased this TV to replace a 5 year old RCA CRT TV and it was on sale for $499 at best buy. This is by far the best TV I have purchased yet and the setup was a FLASH and took less than 10 minutes to get up and working. Amazing picture quality, great user interfaces, internet ready, SD card ready, and it even works with some external HDD's. The speakers are actually quite clear and do not sound "distant" or distorted to me. This TV is definitely worth the price!

Cons: Wireless dongle is $80 unless you buy a Netgear WNDA3100v2 that works with it for less than $30. That aside at this time I can think of no other cons.

Other Thoughts: This was a great upgrade from an old school RCA CRT TV and at $499 is well worth the price. This is not the highest end TV model available but for what you pay you get quite a bit and I highly recommend this TV!
