  • newegg Enjoy the Ultimate 3D Experience The display alternately shows images for the left and right eyes. The left and right lenses of the eyewear open and close in sync with this display timing to show separate images to the left and right eyes. By repeating this action at high speed, the brain perceives 3D images. And because this method displays FULL HD 3D images just as they are, both eyes receive 3D images in high, full-HD quality. (3D Eyewear is required for viewing 3D images.)
  • newegg Crisp, Clear Moving Pictures 2,500 Focused Field Drive (FFD), an original Panasonic technology, detects image movements like the human eye, and optimizes the drive accordingly. By achieving instantaneously powerful light emission rather than finely divided emission, it reduces the afterimages that cause blurring. As a result, fast movement is reproduced with excellent clarity.
  • newegg Infinite Black Pro Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks - even when viewed in bright surroundings. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.
  • newegg A New TV Sound Experience Eight dome-type microspeakers with reflectors deliver wide-ranging, high-quality sound. Only about 8 mm thick, these compact units also contribute to the beauty of the narrow-edge design. The sub-woofer, which is mounted to the rear surface of the panel, delivers robust bass sounds. Its super slim design, with a thickness of only 22 mm, helps to keep the entire display attractively thin. The Sound Lifting Driver, an original Panasonic acoustic-field compensation technology, produces highly accurate sound imaging. Matched to human auditory characteristics, the frequency for the bandwidth in which the sound is located is adjusted and the optimal compensation is applied.

4 out of 5 eggsSome inital problems/frustrations, but still very happy in the end

Pros: Huge viewing screen
Great color
Easy to navigate menus
Decent weight

Cons: First, I placed my order on the morning of Monday 7/16/2012, yet it wasn't shipped until that Friday, and it wasn't received until 7/25/2012. Now to someone who buys the tv and doesn't care about when it arrives that timeline probably isn't a big deal. But it is to me, both due to the simple length of time it took to arrive, and the fact that I didn't know what was going on with my order until the TV was a day or two away from my door step. I guess what I would like to see from newegg is a slightly better heads up and/or real time listing of what is going on with my order. Remember this, from the date I placed the order (7/16/2012) until earlier this week (7/23/12) the order was listed as "packaging" on newegg's website.
Second, this issue directly relates to panasoic, and has nothing to do with per se. When I opened the TV. It was missing all of the installation screws. Not a few, but ALL of them. It took 4 hours at home depot and lots of frustration to sort it out.

Other Thoughts: So after four (4) hours of searching for replacement screws & then half an hour putting the tv together (not a bad build time) I fired up the TV. After a quick software update I was able to immeidately log into netflixs via the on board application menu and watch an episode of curb your enthusiasum.

As for the colors, no complaints. I quickly discovered the options tab, and after setting the video to "cinema" I found, what was then, a great picture quality to watch my episode of curb.

5 out of 5 eggsHave no fears!

Pros: I searched the web over review after review of the Panasonic TC-P55ST50. First of all, the reviews are correct, this is one of the best deals on Newegg. The picutre of this TV is awesome! Everytime I see the quality of the picture I remain amazed. This picture matches that of the Panasonic Flagship model that is $3,000. DVD/Bluray/Media Player, and Cable with HD are the top of the line picture quality as well. So, if you are wavering on which to buy, spend the few dollars more, look away from LED/LCD models and buy the model they are all trying to copy!

Cons: No cons at this point. Nearly 2 months in.

Other Thoughts: Could of used one more HDMI port, but you still have several other ways of hooking up your media.

3 out of 5 eggsGood picture quality, couple of flaws

Pros: Reasonable price
Good picture quality
Viera connect with Viera market to download apps
Easy setup interface
The television itself is attractive

Cons: Very loud buzzing sound when the screen is predominately white. I've looked around in the options and so far have found nothing that resolves it. There is a "Mosquito N.R." option that sounds like it addresses this issue, but toggling it on and off does nothing. This is an extremely annoying issue that I don't have with the '42 Panasonic Plasma of the previous year's series.
Movement is either unnaturally fluid or noticeably jittery. Depending on the motion settings you have it on, fast movements on the television either show up in a surreal fluid motion that looks like it was captured on a home video recorder or the picture gets choppy every time that the rapid action occurs on-screen.

Other Thoughts: I'm not an expert on TVs by any means and have only taken a cursory glance around the internet searching for a clue. There isn't a whole lot of info about this particular model since it is relatively new. I'd love to find some quick, easy answers on how to resolve the issues I have with the TV, but the last time I called Panasonic support for an issue I ended up going around in circles for hours with their tech support.
Overall, the TV is okay. Given another chance to choose a TV, I'm not sure that I'd buy this one again.
