5 out of 5 eggsLoving it!! Great TV!!

Pros: I Got this TV about a month ago, its working great. I first had it where my old TV was but it just was not doing it justice. I Bought a wall Mount and took my time made sure everything was leveled out and hung right. now my TV can extend out to 20 inches from the wall if need be..

I had to get a wall mount that can move the TV around because sometimes i need it at angles that when i'm at my spare PC surfing the web i can watch TV. or center it so i can be in bed and relax with a movie.

Currently using 2 of the 3 HDMI, I Have My Main PC and DVD player and my Xbox hooked up to it. I also have the TV set up with a 5.1 Sound System. The speakers that are stock with it work just fine if you don't want to get a speaker system. Now if i want my Netflix off the PC i can enjoy a movie in style.

Cons: Only Con i can say is that when i received the TV and opened it up the Glass Base was just laying there not secured to anything, But i had no Other issues.

No need to Dock a Egg For this because it crossed Quite a few States to get to me and was handled and traveled on a few trucks with no issues.

Other Thoughts: Thank you Pat Below for the useful info, you need to use Windowed Boarderless resolutions in order to make it work best for computer gaming. Love How my games look and play on this TV.

i5 2500k 3.7ghz, Nvidia GTX 460 PC System.

5 out of 5 eggsAll I asked for...

Pros: This was the perfect sized screen for me. The picture is great! Exactly what I'd expect from an LCD at this price point, if not better. I don't use them but the speakers aren't half bad either. The side panel ports are nice and the USB port is a nice bonus that I'll probably never use.
I use an adapted DVI to HDMI cable to connect this to my computer. I'm able to clone my desktop over to this and since both my computer monitor and TV are able to display 1920x1080 res they work together flawlessly. I was initially disappointed that the screen ratio was distorted but a little playing around with the zoom options allowed me to set it to No Overscan which basically just displayed the native res.

Cons: There is a slight amount of washout and the corners are noticeably light with a dark picture. Its not in the least distracting, so far, but if you're picky with that sort of thing be aware of it.

Other Thoughts: It arrived in one piece, somehow. The packaging wasn't terrible but I can see how some arrive broken, especially since the glass base isn't all that well secured in the box.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't beat the price

Pros: Can't beat the price of this TV. Using it as a monitor for my computer and for Xbox. Looks great for both. The speakers aren't bad and HDMI works great for it.

Cons: I've noticed that you need to use Windowed Boarderless resolutions in order to make it work best for computer gaming but that hasn't made it any less enjoyable. I play D3, Tribes: Ascend, BF3, and Skyrim. Looks great with all.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat so far..

Pros: The size for the price is fantastic. Screen has no dead/stuck pixels and the picture is sharp with suprisingly good black (tv is only 5000:1 if I remember correctly). Light weight and sleek finish.

Cons: Like others have said the packaging is almost sinister. I was expecting it to be bad but when I opened the box I couldn't believe that the TV wasn't in a thousand pieces. Trying to mount it onto my existing wall mount has proven to be a real pita because I can't find the correct screws for the slots in the back. My Bezel was popped out about a half inch and I had to remove a screw to put it back to a secure fit.

Other Thoughts: Neweggs shipping is phenominal! Ordered it Thurs at 9am Recieved it Fri at 4pm!
Hopefully this TV works well for at least a couple years, but we'll see. Not sure if it has the standard two year warrantee but I have read litteral horror stories about TCLs customer service. People (lots and lots) said you'd basically have to be a masochist to go through the process.

4 out of 5 eggsFirst TCL, Beautiful Picture

Pros: The TV has a great picture, with wide viewing angles and clarity as advertised. I appreciate the bevy of well placed and labeled inputs. While perhaps somewhat thick compared to late 2011 and 2012 models, the TV is not too heavy and was easy to remove from the packaging and move around. The glass base is quite stunning and minimalist, yet feels strong enough to support the TV. I would recommend this TV to anyone - it's sold at a great price and a is good performer as well. I don't have experience with this brand, so performance over time is the only concern I would have.

Cons: Speakers are a little tinny - since there are several audio output options I am hooking mine up to a home theater system. The packaging could use some attention given the frequent mishandling that naturally occurs during shipping.

Other Thoughts: As noted by other reviewers, the packaging was very minimal, but seemed adequate. The TV was suspended in the middle of the box, with the bubble wrapped glass stand and manual stowed behind the screen. Impacts to the large front side of the box could have damaged the screen - some reinforcement (cardboard or styrofoam) would be nice.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow Up to replacement unit

Pros: Got my replacement TV and everything seems to be working well on it. Picture quality is good and couldn't ask for a better tv for under 400 dollars

Cons: Packaging was even worse in this shipment. The back holder for the TV (the piece that mounts to the tv and the base) was off off and the screws were just loose in the bottom of the box. The TV had finger prints on it and the cardboard inserts were all beat up. The base was also missing two of the bumpers on the bottom

Other Thoughts: TLDR: TV good. Packaging Bad.

4 out of 5 eggsGood ish, TCL.

Pros: AWESOME quality for its price. 1080p is on point with no overscan or picture degradation problems when hooked up to my laptop via HDMI. Some people may complain that its speakers sound 'tinny,' but it seemed perfectly fine to me. I eventually decided to hook up a twenty-dollar pair of Logitech speakers to get better bass response.

Cons: Slight backlight bleed in the corners, although it's only noticeable when the screen is black. I guarantee you won't see it when there's any color on the screen. Standard definition through cable could look a bit better as well--maybe I just need to mess with the settings a little bit more. I also wish they included more picture/color adjustment settings - with limited options, it took a bit longer to calibrate than say a Sony or Samsung.

1 out of 5 eggsGot what I expected

Pros: Price. Its a $300 dollar tv. It also has decent inputs and outputs and the look of it is very nice for a low end tv.

Cons: The packaging is terrible. the TV sits in four cardboard cutouts. That's it. My tv came not working properly. I had a green stripe (about 6" tall) run all the way across the TV regardless of what input I used. I am currently waiting for my RMA replacement and all I can do is hope for the best

Other Thoughts: I do have hope for this TV, but you do get what you pay for

2 out of 5 eggsAwful packaging

Pros: Great TV for the price. Very sleek look to it. Audio quality is...Okay, can go REALLY loud though. I made the mistake of turning it up to max because I'm used to the capability of my smaller TV's speakers. This TV isn't really heavy but I wouldn't call it lightweight either. I've never carried another 40 inch TV so I dont have anything to really compare it to.

Cons: One, it can't support its full resolution on a VGA cable. It will go 1920x1080 only if you use an HDMI. I don't really have a quality HDMI cable to comment on picture quality, but a quick look at the 500 reviews on this TV on other websites suggest it's got a great picture. AWFUL PACKAGING. This is what caused me to dock 3 eggs. When I received it the box was falling apart in the mailman's hands. I know it had nothing to do with the ride here. I've worked in factories and I can tell a poor packing job from a bad delivery job. And this was by far the most pitiful packaging I've ever seen. Not only did the TV simply...fall out as I received it (the tape completely broke on one end), but the inner packaging was equally bad. There was no cover plastic on the screen, and the mount was simply lying right on top of it. I have never been disappointed with Newegg's shipments before but today is an exception.
