Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for the poor sound from the speakers I would give this a 5/5. I was able to connect a set of AC powered PC speakers I had laying around and that did the trick. It took a little fiddling with the settings to still make the volume work with the TV remote but it is possible. Just max out the volume on the external speakers and use the TV volume from there.

The PVR function is a great bonus especially if you don't have DVR service with your TV provider or if you only have OTA service.

The playback of AVI files from a USB drive was very smooth and a great feature.

Pros: Excellent Picture, Quick setup, Worked out of the box

Cons: The sound on these are horrible. The refresh rate is low for this set, but for the price it is perfect for what I use it for.

Other Thoughts: Newegg is always tops when it comes to order shipping and receiving. Ordered Sunday arrived from California to the east coast on Thursday.

Pros: Brand new look and feel! Easy to setup and use. Very good picture playing avi from external USB drive.

Cons: Speakers sound tinny even when configured for best possible audio settings. Not batteries for remote included. No HDMI cable

Other Thoughts: Hannspree's site says the new ones come with a HDMI cable. Being a refurb I didn't expect one and I was right - not a huge deal but just a note.

Poor audio sound is mentioned by other reviewers but after I put the TV in it's place I will decide if I need a sound bar of some sort.

Over all - this was a GREAT buy at $150 even with the $40 shipping. I added the 2 year no hassle warranty at $40 too. GREAT deal! Thanks Newegg!

Pros: The money to quality ratio is good, given that the amount paid is very low. The picture quality in terms of HD is bad. If you're not picky, then it's still HD, and HD is still sharp, clear and candy to the eye.

Plentiful amount of input connections. The base of the television is glass while the lining of the actual plate of the television is plastic, but sturdy.

Cons: The audio is absolutely terrible. Cheap earphones playing at 200% volume with no limiters would sound better than these speakers. These are by far the second worst speakers I have ever had to bear. After listening to it for a while it doesn't sound as bad, but it still sucks.

The controller does not work. I read the manual 5 times over thinking I was an idiot, and googled how to code universal remotes.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this television unless you're on a severe budget and have no other options.

Pros: Picture quality is fantastic.
VERY affordable.
Fully featured.
Play media off of USB storage. (using and adapter was able to play an .AVI off of an SD card I snagged out of a camera)

Cons: Don't use built in speakers.
I just view them as a last resort, just like laptop speakers. Buy yourself a sound bar.
Or if you are trying to do something lower profile (or budgeted) Grab laptop speakers (I am a Logitech fan boy).

Other Thoughts: I bought this referb for my Dad and it blew him away. Guy won't stop talking about how much more he enjoys watching his favorite shows and movies.

It is unfortunate that some others go lemons, if you look at outside reviews for these TVs; they are stellar.

Don't let the built in speakers run you off. You shouldn't be using built in speakers on a TV.

Pros: Price, nice looks, lots of connectors.

Cons: Brightness, color, clearity, sharpness, and sound are way below reasonable expectations and adjustments could not reasonably improve them.

Pros: Good image, nice sound, good aesthetics, plenty of inputs, universal remote

Cons: Well I used it for 4 days and it stopped working , the unit powers up but there is no image or sound on the screen. New egg is going to send me a replacement, lets hope this one works fine or else I am Done with HannSpree
