4 out of 5 eggsSolid TV with a Fixable Problem

Pros: Great picture for the price.

Cons: Audio can be garbled and echo after hours of use. See Other Thoughts for information on how to fix the issue.

Other Thoughts: Just wanted to drop by after 2 years of owning this TV and let anyone who is having trouble with audio quality trouble that there is in fact an easy fix.

Go to Toshiba's website and look up the model number of this TV or any of these models: 40XV645U, 40XV648U, 46XV645U, 46XV648U, 52XV645U, 52XV648U, 42ZV650U, 47ZV650U, 55ZV650U, 46SV670U, 55SV670U. Next go to the firmware section and download the most up to date firmware. In the downloads section you will also see installation instructions to go along with the firmware. Hope this helps! Enjoy :)

5 out of 5 eggsLove this TV

Pros: This is a great TV for the price. I don't know how I watched TV on my old set. Love the option to hook my computer up to it. Makes doing work on it so much more enjoyable. Not to mention watching Hulu videos on a grand scale.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for an LCD at the 40 inch ballpark this is the one to get.

5 out of 5 eggsBest upgrade I've bought

Pros: 40" 120hz 1080p for a low price. The presets I actually use and the base is actually more solid than I would have figured.

Cons: The speakers are good enough to watch TV shows with just dialog but if you are like me you already have surround sound for movies and gaming.

Other Thoughts: Also, sometimes the audio makes an odd vibrating distortion but it could be my HD cable box so I'm not too worried. I upgraded from 27" 60hz 720p so I'm floored with the TV, PS3 games and blu-ray movies give me what my wife refers to as nerd chubs.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome LCD TV for the money

Pros: Great Screen, Controls my PS3 from the TV Remote (Good for when my kids "lose" the PS3 conrtroller. Games look awesome, no ghosting. The screen is crystal clear, works with my local comcast digital cable service (no set top box, w00t!). Tons of inputs (SORRY NO DVI PORTS DONT NEED THEM). Doesn't weigh a ton

Cons: The box that it came in wouldn't fit in my trash can so I had to break the box down into several pieces.. it's really hard work!!

Other Thoughts: Excellent gaming monitor and HDTV tuner is amazing!

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: Awesome picture quality! Good sound. The guy that compared the sound to his cell phone is crazy. While the sound on this TV isn't going to blow anyone out of the water, it is more than adequate for 90% of the people that buy it. Unless you're using it in a home theater, I would say it will be sufficient. How many people are going to use a 40" TV in a home theater though? I hooked up my new blu-ray player and my XBOX 360 and played for about 8 hours yesterday to give it a thorough trial. It was phenomenal. I am seeing detail that I wasn't getting from my previous TV. I would definitely buy again. Plenty of HDMI inputs for my components. No need for a switch as I had before. Everything is now connected via HDMI, significantly reducing cable clutter. Newegg rocks as usual! Ordered the TV on Thursday morning, it was delivered on Friday morning.

Cons: None that I can see thus far.

Other Thoughts: I bought this TV to replace a 32" Philips tube TV that despite being only 4 years old was, in fact, a dinosaur. I'm seeing detail that I had no idea existed when playing CODMW on my XBOX. It took a little time to get used to the widescreen display when switching from 4x3. Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing price for a 40" 120hz, great picture, 120hz is great I couldn't live without it. No dead pixels, tons of options, lots of inputs.

Cons: None at this point.

Other Thoughts: TV is amazing, I honestly don't see the need for an LED backlit LCD after purchasing this.

4 out of 5 eggsAwsome TV for the Price

Pros: Great picture, great color, Three HDMI ports, digital and analog audio outputs. The Toshiba logo on the front was really bright and annoying at first but theres an option to turn it off. 120hz refresh rate is amazing while watching movies. The price is more than amazing for this kind of TV.

Cons: Admittedly the sound on the TV is terrible, have some form of sound system in place because the speakers on this thing really do suck, pretty sure my cell phone put out the same sound quality. The response time is only 8ms, and it shows in video games despite the 120hz, espicially in game like BFBC2 or Halo, some will notice this, others will not. No DVI port, though this can be solved with an DVI to HDMI converter.

Other Thoughts: Every con mentioned is honstly blown away by the price of this set. HD movies and HDTV in 120hz are droolingly good. Though gaming isn't it's strong point, I'm coming from a 27" standard CRT TV... there's a big difference to me

4 out of 5 eggsGreat deal but blue color is off

Pros: Good contrast, 120hz, good controls, etc. Great TV for 600 bucks.

Cons: Color reproduction is off. The TV is waaaay too blue heavy. You can adjust for this and take the blue down yourself somewhat...but its something easy that should have been calibrated at the factory. So so angles -- you start to lose contrast past 40 degress left or right, but that is acceptable for the good price.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba still should do the calibration and publish the right custom settings, then they can get 5 eggs. I don't feel like buying an expensive calibrator just to get good colors.
