2 out of 5 eggsKept turning off by itself, had to RMA

Pros: The visual quality was very good. Lots of picture options to choose from, and since it was my first LED TV, I was impressed.

Cons: The TV, after a few months, would turn off by itself, even though sleep timer was not used and no other settings were touched. The picture quality went way down too - the screen would turn washed out white, even the menus. Called support and we went through resetting the TV to factory defaults, and still no change.

They had to call in a 3rd party repair service to fix the screen. They basically replaced everything (so they say) except for the case. Two repairs and it still didn't work.

In the end, Toshiba gave me a replacement, 47" refurbished LED TV. Even that TV has some issues (sometimes it does not respond to the remote, and features will freeze occasionally), but it works for the most part so I'm not going to replace it again.

Other Thoughts: When I bought the original TV on sale I didn't have much reviews to go on. When the TV started having issues there was not much help on Google. I just want to leave a review at this time, in case anyone else decides to get this TV from elsewhere or buy this used from someone.

3 out of 5 eggsToshiba Knows Better

Pros: Great picture, Toshiba never disappoints with picture.
Stylish and sleek, slim design.

Cons: HORRIBLE sound, I mean you barely hear it maxed out, that was such a disappointment. I have other Toshiba's with great sound, this model is not so good with sound...

Other Thoughts: I am not a big LED fanboy. Hate the way the back rounds stand still.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Toshiba Support

Pros: Good picture when it works
Thin and light
A good number of ports

Cons: Near useless speakers
Slow TV startup
Slow gadget/app loading
Vesa Mount area is insanely big for such a small and light TV. At 400x400, the average wall mounting kits will not work with this TV.

Other Thoughts: Very poor Outsourced On-site Tech Support and Service Center. Did not show up on the scheduled date. Techs paid more attention to other items in the house than the TV. Wanted to return the TV unfixed after taking and holding it for a week. Said, "we can't fix it."
Very poor Toshiba Customer Service. While they sounded courteous enough over the phone, it took nearly 3 month, 20+ calls to finally get it replaced via their "expedited/escalated" track. Never got a single call back despite numerous promises to the contrary.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Worth for Price of 630$. Picture Quality is very good.
Net flix and wireless adapater is a plus. 4 HDMI ports!!

Cons: NET TV does not have you tube. 8ms refresh rate is very rarely visible. Max Volume is lesser than many other TV Sets. VUDU is real waste, don't get carried away with that.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Pixels

Pros: Beautiful picture (when all the pixels work). Solid base and mounting, very versatile.

Cons: I bought mine just before Christmas (my girlfriend bought one also). I ended up in the hospital before I got to set it up properly. After having surgery I wasn't able to finally finish the setup until last weekend. I discovered that there were dead pixels in the screen and contacted Toshiba. They refused to do anything about it. My girlfriends is working fine however.

Other Thoughts: A quality manufacturer such as Toshiba should stand behind their products. An otherwise great 40" LED-LCD TV's display is ruined by dead pixels. It's not Newegg's fault but I'm extremely disappointed with Toshiba.

1 out of 5 eggsTotal Garbage

Pros: It's got a great vibrant picture...................and that's about it.

Cons: Bought to use with my HTPC and my XBOX. It operates alright when I'm watching a movie, or Hulu, or Netflix. However playing any game what so ever is pretty much impossible. I've been trying to give it a chance and it's just not working out.

The built in speakers............pooey. Good thing I have a system.

Other Thoughts: I'm looking for a new TV cause this is trash and a waste of the money, thanks Newegg.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a gaming rig

Pros: The clarity is amazing, looks as if you were watching a play or live performance!
Easy to install the widgets, wi-fi adapter is a great addition.
Very lightweight.
4 HDMI ports, and a colorstream HD port make this very useful in home theater situation.
Took 5 minutes to get out the box and working fine.

Cons: You must reset almost every setting when turning the tv on, gets a little annoying after a while.
Playing xbox is next to impossible with the delay, even when switched to gaming mode, the delay is still a complete buzzkill.
Sound is awful, but what do expect from a 1.4" thick machine.

Other Thoughts: I haven't noticed the lighting on the side that most people have been complaining about, but there are a few spots on the screen that run at a higher color level, which is quite noticeable.

DO NOT BUY if you want a good television to play video games on, the delay makes any FPS sluggish and very frustrating.

Overall satisfied with the performance with movies and shows in general but cannot get over the disgusting delay on inputs.
