5 out of 5 eggsGreat after 2 years

Pros: Great TV for the price, i have had it for almost two years now and have had no problems at all.

Cons: Not fully internet ready, you do get Netflix, Vudu and other widgets (I just use a laptop computer or other device if I want to browse no big deal to me)
Some brighter areas on a very dark screen or when just a blank screen but i never notice it unless it is a blank screen and i expected it anyway.

Other Thoughts: The Netflix has had troubles lately with the way it connects, can still watch shows but do not have full menu abilities, i don't know if this is because something needs to be updated or if it is just Netflix. So if i want to add shows i have to go to the computer but again this has not caused me any issues.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: Cheap, great picture

Cons: main board & power supply replaced 8 weeks in to owning it. 1 year later power supply fails again & toshiba will not cover the repair.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for the price

Pros: Great picture and audio. Easy to set up and install. Easy to see remote, (not a small remote).

Cons: No RCA audio out. Only digital fiber so if your receiver is more than a few years old you may need an adapter.

1 out of 5 eggsNice but died after 9 months

Pros: Gorgeous looking, thin and light. Nice colors. Good customer service from Toshiba.

Cons: Clouding easily noticeable. Picture kept going out more and more until it would not display almost all of the time. Toshiba tried to repair it twice but failed.

They had no replacements available for me, so my only option was for a partial refund. Turns out their return policy was 3% depreciation every month so I only got $930 for the $1200 I paid. Pretty upset about that because I was hoping for a full refund.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent 55" LED / LCD Deal

Pros: Excelent controls and picture

Cons: Sound is horrible as in all Flat Screens , a good Home Theater or Sound Bar corrects that. Could use more HDMI or optical audio to composite cable.

Other Thoughts: Super value when I bought on sale for 1149.00

3 out of 5 eggs55" Toshiba

Pros: Light weight, sleek frame, good picture, good price.

Cons: Clouding is very prevalent. Sometimes its not noticable but when it is its very annoying. You think they would have resolved this issue before putting it in the market. I probally would have returned the tv but I am not willing to pay a 15% restocking fee for a tv that doesnt work properly. O well, ill know better the next time.

Other Thoughts: The original television that was delivered had some warping to the frame, Newegg did not give me a problem exchanging it for a new one (since it was defective) I was hoping the spotlighting wouldnt be an issue on the new set but its still there.

4 out of 5 eggsNice TV for it's price.

Pros: Cheap for LED HDTV. $1145
55"
Nice picture

Cons: bad speakers. have to use stereo or sound bar.
useless wireless USB add on.
It will find my Dlink router but when choose the correct
encryption it won't accept the passcode and connect.
I have not try turn off encruption or change to WEP, but I am not going to downgrade my network security just for the TV.

Other Thoughts: end up using a wireless bridge and connect back to the TV by RJ45 cable to go online.
Speaker sound is bad...even worse than my laptop or 5 year old sony projector HDTV. Even my 1 year old panasonic plasma sound much deeper and better...and it's similair thickness, so I won't say there is no space...they just used cheap speakers , that's all. I don't see samsung or LG has sound problem as bad.
Oh, remove works find 15-20feet away.
all and all good buy for the low price and good brand name. the problems can have work arounds.

4 out of 5 eggsGood buy at sale price

Pros: Very nice clear screen. Included wireless adapter. Netflix and other apps. Light and easy to move by one person.

Cons: Speakers are horrible as others suggested. But you have a theater system right?
As others also said, there is a lot of light bleeding through the screen. Mine however is not just around the edges, there are blotches of it in closer to the center of the screen. Only really notice that on the darker menu screens. Have yet to notice it while watching movie/tv.

Other Thoughts: Decent if you get it on sale. Would never pay full price for this TV. Also read somewhere that it has an app for that site that cannot be named (the big river in brazil), and have not been able to find that yet.

2 out of 5 eggsBright light shows through on corners

Pros: It's big and was the right price. Very small frame and relatively light weight for what I expected a 55" tv to be. I wall hung it easily.

Cons: VERY noticeable spotlighting showing through on darker video. Extremely annoying. I've never seen it before on display LED tv's but I'm guessing it's the edge lighting LEDs shighing too bright. I've tried to change all the settings to lower it but it just gets worse.

Other Thoughts: I'm going to have to call newegg or toshiba and get this fixed or returned. For the price I paid, I want something that doesn't look like junk. I'll find out this weekend how bad it is when I have a house warming and everyone comes over and sees it. I'm sure everyone will immediately notice it and comment on how bad it is.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it if you have surround sound

Pros: One of the smallest 55" frames out there. light weight, thin and sexy picture.

Cons: Slight light leaks, only noticable in very dark sceens

Sounds like a laptop speakers but louder

If you own a Wii you need to buy a Component Video cables, if you dont already have it, plus the video will look better anyways. 480i vs 480p

Other Thoughts: Turn off clear frame or you will have ghosting. Many complaint about the Internet TV Apps. Buy a Wii, PS3 ,XBOX 360, or a bluray player. Last I checked that is a bonus ability.
