5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Picture is excellent. 3D impressive although we do not use it very often. 3d glasses from the movies work with this TV (just in case you forgot to put it in the return bin)

TV shipped quickly.

Cons: TV does not turn on immediately when the power button is pressed-5-10 seconds til picture comes on. Not a big deal to us.

Other Thoughts: Bought on sale at x-mas last year for 700.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD TV

Pros: picture is great

Cons: tv takes forever to turn on and off. when turning on my tv and ps3 it will flicker and the sound will skip as it's trying to fully turn on

have to press the power button on tv or remote several times to get it to turn off and when i do sometimes it will turn off on off and back on depending on how many times i pressed the button out of frustration

while watching netflix or playing a game it will periodically switch input methods (i assume thats what it's doing) so i have to go thru the 10 second loading phase again where i have no picture or sound (kinda like when you first turn it on)

Other Thoughts: this was the first TV i've ever bought and it has caused nothing but high blood pressure.. will never buy a toshiba brand anything ever again.

2 out of 5 eggscheap price doesnt justify the problems

Pros: nice picture,3D, pretty cheap price

Cons: after nearly 3 months of ownership the tv will freeze when trying to use any of the applications like netflix or webtv.
the tv also turns itself on and off every 5-7 mins.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: amazing picture

Cons: at first it took a good 15 seconds to get the tv to actually turn on. after a few months it started taking longer so i would press the power button a second time which only made the tv turn on and right back off. lately it takes me a good 5 presses to get the tv to actually turn on. i have it hooked up to my ps3 and any time i load a game, netflix, etc etc the tv has to do some weird ritual where it appears to turn off and on several times before it actually starts to work right. this is my first and last toshiba.

Other Thoughts: i see that the tv's been DC'd from newegg. still wanted to write a bad review though.

3 out of 5 eggsNeeds a firmware update

Pros: For the price (640 when I picked it up from NE) its a very amazing TV. 3D is as easy as putting a movie into the player and it auto launches. Display is pretty sharp for every BD I play (Tron, Pirates of Car, Avatar...) and the 3D glasses are PASSIVE, which for me is a huge plus. No expensive replacements or batteries to constantly change. If you have kids, do you really want them toying around with the other ones when their friends come over. Plus replacements are free from local theaters... so you can just take the normal black glasses and add to your collection.

Cons: TV likes to act up sometimes, I find that if I'm on the same channel for a few hours (on in the background while I cook, clean, work) it will lock up and the remote becomes unresponsive. Scrolling through Netflix SUCKS! I just use the PS3 or BD player instead. Also, streaming movies though the wireless on the TV has less quality than on another device connected via HDMI. But at this point it may not matter since everything you buy with a resister is Netflix enabled. Oh, and the stand that it sits on is a little loose. I'm REALLY careful when it comes to assembling things but its stand seemed to prove a challenge while constructing (cheap screws lead to stripped threads). Also doesn't rotate on its stand, you have to lift the TV to turn it... kind of annoying if you're moving around the room and can't just nudge the side to turn in your direction.

Other Thoughts: All in all, for a TV under 700 its amazing. Wait till the price drops or invest a few more hundo for a Samsung or Sony. This TV replaced a 37" Samsung and sometimes I think about moving it back into the family room and out of the bedroom. NEEDS A FRIGGIN FIRMWARE UPDATE! If they just added something to dump system cache (because this thing IS like a PC thus the long boot up time) then it probably wouldn't "crash" and lock up like it does. In my opinion, wait for it to go on sale again.

1 out of 5 eggsDO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

Pros: Cheap 3D
Decent color - no where near my plasma I bought back in 2005.
Energy efficient (kinda) (other models at this size use less electricity)

Cons: -Takes 20 seconds to turn on

-Input switching is delayed (when starting xbox 360, you never see the 360 logo, starts up right on the dashboard)

-TV randomly turns off, this is an ongoing problem with these TVs, just do some research. Toshiba also knows about this problem and fails to address it.

-The remote also becomes unresponsive. Can't turn the TV off or anything else, must pull the power cable to fix this.

-Addons/netTV will not work at times. Pressing the button won't even bring up the menu.

-Last firmware update for this TV was OCT 26 2011. You think Toshiba would give this TV some much needed updates, but it doesn't seem like they ever plan to.

Save yourself a headache and buy a Samsung or something else. I've been regretting this TV ever since. I will never buy another Toshiba product for as long as I live.

Other Thoughts: Short side of a much longer and troubled experience:
This is my second TV. First one was returned to Newegg for similar problems (screen would randomly dim/shut off/unresponsive)

My second TV has almost the same problems, but doesn't randomly become dim. Having warranty work done through Toshiba, who sourced Nexicore to do the work, who really aren't that great either. I had to call them multiple times, while they had an excuse for everything. I have been waiting about 3 weeks for their service and today they finally came. Mainboard was supposed to be replaced, but when the tech replaced it, it didn't even work. They also tried to use a refurbished board (you think they would test these things first?)

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice 3D mode, picture and price. Uncharted 3 in 3D looks great on this TV.

Cons: Everything you read is true, the TV turn on time is at least 20 secs, the volume/sound is poor, and switching between inputs takes a long time.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba needs a firmware upgrade to keep the TV's power green light on during the power up cycle. It's hard to tell whether you hit the power button or not. Next model Toshiba should use better speakers and a processor that more than 8 bits.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible TV!

Pros: The screen can be easily watched from any angle and the HD picture is very sharp and bright. We played ordinary DVD and there were several scenes where it looked as though the actors were sitting right there. The 3D is excellent and clear. You do not have to adjust your eyes for the 3D at all. The manual is straightforward and detailed.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsFirst HDTV, like the upnp

Pros: This is my first HDTV. I got it cheap from here (time for 2011 close outs). What I really wanted in a tv was upnp/dlna wifi. Of TVs that have wifi, only a few brands have true upnp, and Toshiba is one. From that regard, it works very well, streaming mkv over wifi g works great.
This tv is really thin. Maybe one inch deep.
Despite online reviews about light leaking and bleeding edges and what not, I don't see any defects in the picture. I made sure to turn off the soap opera motion effect thing so that my frames are crisp.
3d conversion works well, have not tried true 3d content though.

Cons: Only digital audio out. No headphone or composite out.
No qwerty remote, which makes Netflix searching difficult. It is easier to add to queue on another device and then choose on the tv. Also, the USB inputs don't allow for divx playing, only mp3 and jpg (mpeg2 also)

Other Thoughts: For $6-700 dollars, this tv has the features of a $800+ model with good wifi integration. Only downside is lack of a qwerty remote

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for the price

Pros: The picture is great, the 3d is cool but i remember it being better in theaters(probably due to the larger screen size).

Cons: TV can take up to twenty seconds to turn on, just an inconvenience, but with the quality its worth the wait.
Takes a few seconds switching between HDMI's.
From what I heard the speakers weren't so great, I use a home theater system with the digital optical output on the TV anyways.
