5 out of 5 eggsTV IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Pros: This tv out of box performed HD in a manner i'd never seen before without having to be tweaked and all but with it being a smart tv at this low of a price, I do admit that I didn't even know this tv had a smart feature only the 3d, but I've yet to figure out the 3d with this tv and adapting it to work with the other hardware I have. Tech level is high with tvs but i'm new at 3d due to the fact that I don't have the money to buy everything and test it but this tv is GREAT! it programmed all of my remotes aka my time warner cable remote my regular tv remote to my OTHER tv(LOL) and let me tell you i'd never been so happy to not have to program codes in my remotes just to get the remotes to work with the tvs. Also the deep blacks in this tv are AMAZING!!! the setup mech is very robust and gives you a whole gallery of things to mess with and enhance/dehance the hdtvs functions as tvs that incorporate power savings usually have by default settings on for ultra low power consumption so when you get this make sure that you're getting full power so you can see this beauty in action. Like I said i'm new to 3d, the 3d glasses they sent x2 were cheap imax like glasses and i'm going to be doing research if I can buy stereoscophic 3d glasses without the port being this tv is semi 3d but is 3d altogether but it don't have all the full 3d features ofcourse but i'm sure if you buy the high dollars glasses you will get a stunning out of tv picture experience. Also a good thing is the remote has a small keyboard on the back side and the top side has Netflix/vudu/etc button to go straight there, and this tv also has a profile system to where if you're going to use it in the living room where more than one person(s) will use it. Also source ports like hdmi and such can be edited to whatever name makes you happy. but yea, enjoy!

Cons: only cons are that I've yet to properly get the 3d to calibrate correctly but time will tell and really this isn't a con but just to say something that I haven't quite managed to overcome yet. Also the glasses could have been a little better quality. The remote is AWESOME but.... it takes AAAx2 batteries and eats them like a multiple coarse meal in no time so i'll be buying some triple A rechargeable batteries like I have with my Double AA's. Anyway, other than wishing this tv could run some kind of internet explorer/chrome/firefox/etc it would be really nice.

Other Thoughts: hooked this up to my ps3 and I went to display and auto scan and it instantly showed a prompt(never seen this prompt til now) asking what size the 3d tv was and I put 47 inch and then all the resolutions on the next page had 3d next to them, EASY SET UP!! LOW PRICE GREAT WARRANTY!! u really can't get any better if you're like me on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbeatable value as refurb.

Pros: I am using this TV in family room. I have a top end Samsung in theater room that is 6 years old now. This TV easily rivals the Samsung in picture quality which is a testament to improvements in tech over the years.

- Good quality picture
- Online Apps interface is fast and understandable.
- Decent remote with handy keyboard
- Fast input switching time
- Decent channel switching time (direct line in, no cable box)
- Respectable sound
- Setup options are plentiful and not complicated
- 3D viewing a bonus at this price
- wifi convenience.

Cons: Only the strictest techno-files will find fault.

- Can't find an Auto-Fill Screen setting. Some channels that appear in 4:3 don't get automatically 'stretched'. Fortunately 'wide' setting is easily assessible from remote.
- Remote design could be better and no backlight. I appreciate a remote where the most frequent buttons are big and accessible with 'one-hand' use.
- App usablity can use a little work when it comes to using the remote keyboard to navigate. Some apps don't accept keyboard input.
- TVs still put out noticeable heat to my surprise.

Other Thoughts: Unless you are someone who is looking for the top notch in specs and will scrutinize the fine details of picture quality, then this is a sure buy.

In full disclosure, I AM one of those people, but chose this TV based on price/value first for a family room application.

I can't be more pleased. To be able to experience 3D at this price is amazing. Yes, there is always a chance taken with refurbs and I lucked with success. A shipping company other than the 'mains' was used and agreeable. Our first 3D viewing was using VUDU app streaming and it worked without a hitch. I have a direct wire network connection...did not use wifi.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this product.

Pros: When working, this TV does work well and all of its advertised features are nice.

Cons: I have had three of these TVs in my house. The first one has worked fine; the second one was dead on arrival. Newegg was helpful processing the return; the shipping took between 7-8 days. I had the TV for 23 days before it stopped powering on.

Using Newegg's online return tool, I was instructed to contact the manufacturer. Called the next day during business hours, they let me know the TV was returned to the original retailer and was not shipped to them for repair, to contact Newegg again. The second time I spoke to a Newegg employee on the phone, which was much more helpful. This time I got the phone number to the refurbishment center I should call. Fair, the TV was out of its Newegg replacement warranty because the shipping counts towards it. I didn't know that.

I was happy navigate the obscure menu's of the refurbishers’ phone menu trying to speak to a person. After three phone calls I found the switchboard operator/customer service rep/warranty claims person. Busy person. After a few condescending remarks, she softened up but really didn't want to take my information and kept pointing me towards their website to process the claim. After wasting a few minutes trying to get her to get my address correct, I gave up and decided to go to their website. I'm not expecting very much, considering the Newegg rep said they handle returns for the first 90 days and the remanufacturer's claims website states 30 days.

I'm glad I purchased the extended warranty.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this product and all the hassle that will go along with it. Here's what you can look forward to.

Original purchase date: 2/27/13
Arrival of the bad TV: 3/06/13
Claim input: 3/07/13
Arrival of second TV: 3/15/13
Death of second TV: 4/21/13

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!!!!! Just go for this

Pros: Great picture quality, overall happy with it. initially was reluctant to buy refurbished but now I'm glad I saved couple of hundreds.

Cons: No YouTube app, the remote keyboard does not work with apps.

Other Thoughts: Just go for this TV . You will be happy you made a purchase and the new egg customer service is excellent. They helped me with rebate related questions .

1 out of 5 eggsI got a dud

Pros: Cheap price, seemed faster than my prior Vizio smart TV.

Cons: So from day 1 it had some weird discolored pixels on the screen. I didn't return it because I figured I got a great deal on it, and that's just the way refurbished goes sometimes. Then the smart functions on the TV, particularly Netflix, seem to keep crapping out on my TV. It seems to crash the "computer" or whatever drives the smart functions, kills the sound, and you have to turn it off and on and unplug it several times to get it to return to normal. I will be filing a claim to get all that fixed because we use that a lot. It took a couple of months to start doing that or I would have just returned it right away, so beware!

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome TV

Pros: All of those great stats add up to an amazing picture. Great color, no ghosting, no dead pixels.

Cons: I don't think it was actually refurbished, because there were some small dings on the top of the front bezel.

Other Thoughts: I got this TV so I could play my computer games in 3D, and WOW they look great. You are not going to find a tv with better feature set for the price. GREAT DEAL!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: It has great picture quality and the 3D is just fantastic. I bought mine new at walmart back in November and paid $698 for it. Worth every penny then and still is.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Buying refurbished products is like playing Russian roulette eventually the bullet exits the chamber.

2 out of 5 eggsOh, Really?

Pros: Fine Vizio product, as usual

Cons: Newegg: Check your pricing, please.

Other Thoughts: This puppy is only 588 now at a company down in the "dell". (Was 598 when I bought mine.) That's NEW, not refurb and includes one year mfg. warranty and free shipping. Of course you may have to pay state sales tax (but not local city/county tax), depending on your state, but still a better deal considering the new warranty, IMO.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Vizio value for refurb units. Great picture. No glare. Excellent compliment of streaming apps, good firmware

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Again I have chosen a refurb vizio unit. I have two 32's, a 42 and now a 47, all from newegg. I have saved enough in sales tax and shipping charges to be able to buy the skype cameras for two sets and other items including 3d blu ray players, etc. For those who want to know the NEW models of the e3d sets have the combined component/composite instead of separate inputs for those. Shipping came by semi truck for this television on a pallet. TV is new, no signs of it ever being used previously. Only one firmware update was needed indicating it's mfg date to be recent. Excellent. Just buy a 3 or 4 year squaretrade warranty and you have in-home service or your money back if they can't fix it. Use the 30% off coupons they send out 2 or 3 times a month. Thanks newegg !!

2 out of 5 eggsa lucky one

Pros: Apparently I am one of the lucky ones with this set. Mine came from another source and is not a refurbished unit. I notice that there are more refurbished Vizio products here than new ones.

Cons: Crossing my fingers on this brand. I don't trust it to last.

Other Thoughts: It bothers me that there are so many refurbished Vizio products on the market compared to new products. Not only on this site but other sites as well. That tells me that Vizio's quality control is not to be trusted. I did have a problem with another Vizio product, a 5.1 surround sound VHT510, called Vizio tech support and they had no clue as to why the product wouldn't work as advertised. The retailer I bought it from refunded my purchase price.
