5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV

Pros: Great sound even from base unit speakers

Awesome picture, sports are a thing of beauty on this set

Weight is nice allowing for relatively easy wall mounting

Cons: Does not seem to have any external selection buttons on the unit other then power. Kind of annoying to me but nothing worth a star.

3 out of 5 eggsDLNA difficult

Pros: Good picture

Cons: Did not show up on the DLNA server. From the television you can browse a computer that is sharing files, but playing to the television from the computer doesn't work for me. This is not important to me but might be to you.

Other Thoughts: In researching this it seems many smart TVs aren't great at this so shop carefully. I tried this on another TV and while it worked better I still thought it was disappointing.

5 out of 5 eggsGet This One

Pros: Best picture in this price range

"calibrated dark" then tweaking brightness, contrast, color gives a great picture.

11 point calibration available

Great flexibility on the advanced features you may or may not like.

32 zone direct LED backlight

Good sound for this class of TV.

Most of the important apps available.

DNLA support
WPS supprt

easy to understand menus

Vizio support was good about answering my questions

Cons: Stand mounting could be more stable. It's no problem for me, but consider tethering it.

No internet browser

Full screen apps view is little slow but acceptable for me.

No HDMI Black Setting. Looks like it can easily be adjusted to support "Full RGB" even though there is no official support for this.

Other Thoughts: If you don't care about 3D, 4K, curved screens this is the one to get. Also, the 2014 'E' series is a serious consideration if you want save some money and don't care about the few features it doesn't have compared to the 'M' series.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: -VALUE
-Full array local dimming backlight helps blacks look black
-I really like the picture quality but never owned a high end set to truly compare to
-4 HDMI Ports
-Smart apps improved over past vizio products
-Full QWERTY keyboard on remote

Cons: -Sound is quite low, I need to have it around 40-50% just to hear normal TV most of the time. Im no audiophile tho so I can live with it and it works fine for me.
-No 3D (Didn't matter to me)
-Not 4K

Other Thoughts: Vizio over the past few years has definitely been building on their reputation so I decided after months of research to give the 2014 m series a shot. I am very pleased as I upgraded from a 32 in older vizio to this 55inch model. Comparable TVs of this quality and size are in the 2-3K range.

Also, check the MSRP on Vizio's website. I purchased this from a local store to avoid issues with shipping and returning if neccessary, and also had the best price there. It also wasnt available through Newegg yet.
