5 out of 5 eggsProscan 40" 1080p LCD HDTV 40LD45Q

Pros: Great TV, with surprisingly good quality and durability, I used it for more than 3 years, and it's still going strong!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After I bought this one, I am not afraid to buy this brand's products anymore. And I just bought a LG 46 TV and the build quality, this Proscan is still better!

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: *Price
*Picture Quality

Cons: *Poor Speakers
*HDMI Resolution issue (see "other thoughts")

Other Thoughts: Let's start with the good! What a deal, $399.99 for a 1080p lcd tv with a sexy piano black finish. The picture quality is fantastic (with a few manual adjustments of course). High definition moves look incredible.

Ok, onto the not so greats. When I plug my pc into this via HDMI, I cannot set the resolution to 1920x1080 @ 60hz... it's very fuzzy and chopped up and exceeds screen limits (Nvidia Overlay adjustment does nothing) However, 1366x768 works great and looks quite good from 8-10ft away. One workaround is to use a standard VGA cable and an optical or RCA cable for audio to get full res.

2nd "issue" is the speaker quality, although it's not horrible, it does sound more washed out than my 32" daytek tv (which I already thought was a cheapo but it had GREAT sound)

I've given this 5 stars because I can't justify docking stars for anything on this tv at this price, it's just too good.

5 out of 5 eggsTop of the line TV, at bottom price

Pros: Great looking unit. Fantastic picture once calibrated. Very easy to use on screen menu. Sound is better than alot of flat screen's I've heard.

Cons: Remote buttons poorly organized for my taste.

Other Thoughts: Seasoned audio/video people like myself will remember back when Proscan was an elite maker of CRT televisions.
Any type of video display needs to be calibrated once purchased. Factory settings are not what you want to use in your home. Big box stores set there display units to vivid so noobies will comment on how bright the colors are.
You must purchase a video calibration DVD and use it.
Do yourself a favor and take the 30 mins required to tune your display. It is worth the effort.
Like any flat screen TV you should purchase an amplified 5.1 sound system. Try to stay away from sound systems in a box, if your budget allows. It's a shame to see people spent thousands on the biggest tv they can buy and spent a couple hundred bucks on a 5.1 sound system. They are missing half the home theater experience.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: Cheap and quality is pretty decent.

Cons: The screen turn green when using the vga port for a long time. You have to turn off before the green lines go away.
