4 out of 5 eggsGreat refurb deal!

Pros: PRICE PRICE PRICE

Cons: A few bad pixels, barely noticeable.

Other Thoughts: I just bought my third refurbished Proscan 24"! Two of them I've had for 2+ years, both still working great! Yes, there might be a bad pixel or two. Other than that, It's a desk-filling screen for about $100. Can't beat that with a stick! Mom was complaining she had no room for another computer, but after mounting the mini-pc on the back, it takes up only about 6 horizontal inches. Now she can put it on just about any surface.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all!

Pros: -Largest 1080p screen for the price
-1 set of inputs for everything you need
-PC input with headphone jack a nice bonus

Cons: -Backlight bleeds on all 4 sides
-Remote control needs to point directly at sensor to work
-Built in speakers are garbage

Other Thoughts: I was expecting a banged-up frame, scratched screen and dead pixels. What I got was a perfectly fine tv that looks completely new. Keep your expectations low and it will exceed them by a mile. The built in speakers are pretty bad, but I hooked up a usb-powered set to the headphone jack (a usb port on the tv powers them). It works great, the speakers even power down with the tv. I use this in the bedroom with a streaming box.

5 out of 5 eggsRefurbished: Proscan 24" 1080p 60Hz LED-LCD HDTV

Pros: Very surprised for the $113.99 Price. No dead pixels. Picture is better than expected. Sound from the speakers is as good as my computer speakers.

Cons: No bid deal; but the stand does not tilt.

Other Thoughts: A very good deal for the price.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat picture....poor sound

Pros: Wonderful picture...no dead pixels on mine, as other people have stated. Great color and bright, with just the default settings. This is the one reason I decided to keep it, versus my cons.

Cons: The speakers sound horrible....very tinny, even after adjusting the equalizer settings. I own 6 different flat panel TVs, even ones half the size of this one, and these are by far the worst sounding speakers.

Other Thoughts: The TV is obviously used, and mine came with a chip/chunk gone in the upper right corner casing. I've decided to ignore it since it is a patio TV, but if it was indoors, it would be a deal breaker and I'd have to send it back.

5 out of 5 eggs1080p best value

Pros: This is a 24" monitor with 1080p resolution that has a great picture and a decent enough TV tuner at as low a price as you'll find anywhere, period. Vesa mounting was a snap as the unit is very lightweight, even with the base left on.

Cons: As others have also noted, there was indeed one "dead pixel" with the unit I received almost exactly in the center of the screen, but other than when in it is in its initial or standby blue (or black) screen mode, I have to try very hard to see if i can notice it.
The remote has a tight field of reception and can be a bit resistant to smooth navigation, but at least the sensing eye is visible on the front so one can know where to aim the remote.

Other Thoughts: There is no optical out, so the "earphone out" is the only way to pipe the sound out of the unit's TV tuner to your stereo is out the 1/8th analog "earphone jack," and it will 'only' be stereo (but there are additionally a surprising amount of EQ and other sound adjustments and this method sounds just fine.) Onboard speakers surely do not sound good at all, but get loud enough. They are automatically switched off when the 1/8th " plug is inserted. For use as a PC monitor, the VGA input is recommended as the HDMI input would seem to be set up for interlaced only (?) and will have that telltale "sheen"...but surely this connection would be just fine with (older) gaming consoles. At this price, despite these minor caveats, the unit was still well above expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Deal

Pros: Bought this as a bedroom unit for my home, but wife said it is too small. Soooo.... new computer monitor! Seriously though it handles good on my system. No problems with display being choppy.

Cons: Dont recommend non tech savvy person to attempt this setup. Have to change a few settings to get the screen to cover entire screen.

Other Thoughts: Tried it as a tv as well on Dish HD setup. Worked very well only issue I found was it was a little dark even with the brightness settings turned up.

5 out of 5 eggsHighly recommend

Pros: - 1080p (most TV's this size are 720p)
- Good picture quality
- VGA port
- No picture problems when used with a computer
- Audio Out
- HDMI and Component
- $105
- It has a VESA mount.

Cons: - Only one HDMI port

Other Thoughts: It arrived quickly and the packaging provided adequate protection. It came in a sturdy cardboard box, with soft foam protection on all sides that fit very snugly, leaving no wiggle room.

It is currently being used as a 2nd monitor for my gaming PC, and It looks just as good as my 23.6 inch Asus VW246 LCD monitor that cost me twice as much.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Amazing quality for such a low price. Am using this as a second monitor for my computer. Comes with so many choices & features built in.

Cons: one pixel on the screen shows pure white ALL the time. Other than that I see nothing wrong.

Other Thoughts: Never thought I'd have the use of a 2 foot computer screen. The resolution is so crisp & clear. I love it.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat picture, poor sound refur

Pros: Price was right , great picture.

Cons: Bad sound, wobbly base.

IR code for remote on Cable boxes and DishTV.

Proscan support online support seems to be none existant. Emails oddly take nearly a day to fail, like some one decides to reject them.

Other Thoughts: Brought this to go with a DishTV Joey, can't seem to find remote code that works to operate basic functions on the DishTV remote. Volume and mute are working by using "learn" function but no power control.
Seems to be a Thompson product Branded through Curtis (Mathis) 1) Plan to use speakers to improve sound 2) Maybe would be a good idea to mount this TV, base is scary sloppy. Support email address in NewEgg specs for this TV doesn't work.
