4 out of 5 eggsA reasonable television

Pros: I grabbed this TV at a great price. At this frugal price, the television is amazing. It's vibrant, it's bright, and it's colorful. It's get 4 out of 5 stars because it has trouble making a low quality feed look good. What I mean is, higher end televisions have the ability to make 480p content look great. This isn't one of those TVs. If your feed it low quality video, it'll display low quality video. However, if you feed it 1080p from a bluray, you'll be patting yourself on the back for spending SO LITTLE MONEY to get SO MUCH DISPLAY. The setup is easy, the observed response time is adequate, and I'd easily recommend this television for situations such as parents buying for their college student.

Cons: The sound quality isn't great, which is made worse by having down-firing speakers, a common element among LCDs. This wasn't a problem for me because I route my audio through a pair of 2.1 speakers.

Other Thoughts: This isn't a first class television and it doesn't belong at the center of a wealthy man's home theater. It's a sensible TV for a sensible audience.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst picture quality ever!

Pros: The price it was on super sale with Newegg for $299 and of course it shipped here lighting fast which was great.
The outside is very neutral no flashy branding which is good.

Cons: It all comes down to you get what you pay for I guess. Here I thought wow 1080p such a big screen for $299 can it be true.
Well not in my case, not by a long shot.
I tried HD cable through HDMI, HDTV antenna, the worst and one I just the most often is my Macbook Pro to HDMI.
Even Apple TV2 through HDMI is bad.
I literally can't even watch it,, the picture is so grainy you would think I had rabbit ears with aluminum foil for an antenna. It also runs hot, is thicker then most, but it really comes back to unacceptable picture quality.

Other Thoughts: After 10 year on Newegg and lots of reviews I have never given a 1 star before, it's that bad.
