Seiki Class 4K

The most affordable, highest resolution screen on the market brings new possibilities to the table – not to mention your computer desk. Seiki Class 4K

At Seiki, we offer a full line of HD TVs. And UHD will be no different— 50-inch 4K is just the beginning. Look for the generous- sized 65-inch and monitor-friendly 39-inch UHD models in the near future.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, if you know what you're getting into

Pros: 4k, very cheap, really nice picture, serves as a decent monitor. 120hz mode 1080p works great for games, but I did have to install a modded firmware(an easy process btw) to utilize it.

Cons: 30hz, if you wanna use this for a monitor that is very very hard to get used too. But if you can, it makes for so much screen space it's ridiculous.

Also the stock firmware is pretty bad, but there are modded ones that are better.

Other Thoughts: For this price the color is impressive. Looks much better than a TN panel. Unless you have a high dollar IPS panel, this thing will hold its own next to your other monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat TV for a Great Price

Pros: This TV is fantastic for the size and price. If your looking for a solid 4K TV or even a solid 4k Monitor you really can't go wrong here.

Cons: The only downside (if you can call it that) is the horrible built in speakers, but really you should just expect that of an LCD TV.

4 out of 5 eggsfor the price it cant be beat

Pros: Price obviously. Works great for a comp monitor with some color tweaking.

Cons: No optical. Tries to turn off with a built in sleep timer type deal so if your using for prolong periods gaming, have the controller ready.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Tv

Pros: -Size
-Picture Quality
-Refresh Rate
-After Calibration Tv just got even better

Cons: -not getting this tv earlier
-cant find a proper remote code for my cable box

Other Thoughts: great TV for the price paid only 450$ for it great deal, read a lot of people on here complaining about the sound and everything about the sound but works perfectly for me and i only have the volume set at 7 with surround mode on, works great with the HTPC and the 120HZ as my fios cable box only pushes 60hz, overall 5 stars

5 out of 5 eggsAstounding

Pros: Colors pop out at you
Clarity is unreal
Awesome price
Aesthetically pleasing
True 120Hz 1080P
Comes with what seems to be a pretty decent HDMI cable.
3D capable at 1080P

Cons: Terrible stand. Plan on using a mount.
Speakers aren't that great, but not horrible either. Nothing more or less than you would expect from any other flat screen.
Remote leaves a lot to be desired, but I only use it to turn it on and off. Does that well.
Backlight is pretty even overall, however it is a tad darker on the left and right sides than the rest of the screen. Very hard to notice unless you're looking at a lot of white screen.
Will be not be compatible with future 4k players when it is finally standardized, but I am not taking an egg off for this because the same goes for the other sets that cost 10 times more. You will still be able to game, stream, and work @ 4k.I didn't buy this to watch movies on anyway.
If this set wasn't so well priced, I would have taken an egg off; however, I basically stole this thing and I would have gladly paid double for what I received.

Other Thoughts: My mind was blown when I took this thing out of the box and hooked it up to my computer. I haven't even calibrated it yet and it rivals my calibrated Asus MX299Q 29" ultra-wide AH-IPS display. The colors are so vibrant. It's like looking out of a clean window. I am not an expert when it comes to displays but I have worked with many displays over the years and I know good color output and accuracy when I see it. I cannot wait to get this thing calibrated correctly, but out of the box, it's still breath-taking. I bought a Gyration air mouse and wireless keyboard to go along with this. They work really well with this display in my living room. Google Earth is a blast with the air mouse. If you are using integrated graphics make sure you adjust the resolution through your graphics driver to output at 30hz, or you will have loss of signal issues. I paid $499 for this set, but the next day it dropped to $450. Newegg gave me a $50 gift card. I can't believe I paid $450 for this beast. Best $450 I've ever spent on technology as far as bang for the buck goes. I can't stop looking at it and can't say enough about it. Buy one now, you can't go wrong.

2 out of 5 eggsAudiophile issues

Pros: Nice display, simple, easy menus, easy setup.

Cons: Two big problems for audio:

- Noticable 60hz hum
- Audio channeled through the unit (hdmi -> coax digital audio) is distorted if driven at 100%.

Other Thoughts: I contacted the manufacturer and they told me my unit is defective and I should return it. I'm not sure that's really true - it seems like it might be more of a design issue. Either way, no fun.

5 out of 5 eggsSeiki 50" Awesomeness

Pros: Everything advertised. If your looking for a computer monitor and your system can drive it, this is the most amazing display to date. I use this with my 2012 Mac Mini and the Accel active converter to get the max resolution (4k). Images are stunning after some calibration which is needed for any display. I sit 3' feet from this display all day without strain, detail is stunning.

Cons: We always want more, like HDMI 2 and 60Hz, but since those are not available one has to be realistic. The issue people mention with the cursor or scrolling is only a problem until you retrain yourself. Don't use a mouse, you will go insane, get a track pad.

Other Thoughts: Will probably buy another when the price dips again for my other system. ;)

5 out of 5 eggsA Nice 4Kx2K montor

Pros: I have used this 50" TV as a computer montor, and, am quite satisfied with it. It came with a solid durable v1.4 HDMI cable for the Ultra mode.

Cons: A very low humming sound from this TV. It is torable once you get used to it as a monitor. The humming sound ia not noticable if you used it as a TV at a distance. No "display port" exists and the HDMI v1.4 can only support 4Kx2K at 30 Hz, though

Other Thoughts: I have to puirchase a better graphic card to support the 4Kx2K display. Window 8.1 can set the display resolutions without amy problem. For Unix, it took me a while to set the graphics. I have to load the graphic driver from card's Web side.

The default settings for the backligh is full 100 percent. I have to go to the "menu", "0000", "others" and then the "backlight" to lower it. The lowest settings for backlight I can permantely set seems to be only "62" though.

3 out of 5 eggsAdequate

Pros: For the price this is amazing.

Cons: Can't seem to get my computer to switch to 4k resolution.
Can't get universal remotes to work correctly with TV. LG TV codes seem to be the closest.
Speakers are low quality.
No optical digital audio outs. (Most speaker systems do not have coaxial digital support. I needed to spend $20 for a coaxial to optical converter.)
Changing the TV input requires the OK button to change the input. (see other thought to see why this is unfavorable)

Other Thoughts: 4k doesn't mean much without having 4k content.
I purchased an LG NBN36 sound bar. The TV section on the LG soundbar remote does work with the TV. It just lacks the OK button to change the TV input.
