5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Picture is great. Have used it as HTPC monitor via HDMI and also as a TV with an antenna and have had no problems.

Cons: The headphone jack on it is an input not an output.

Other Thoughts: Great for a smallish apartment like mine. Outstanding bang for the buck.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TV!

Pros: Great image quality. Great TV. Great price.
I highly recommend this TV!

Cons: Back connector panel is vertical so it can makes plugging in cables a slight hassle but nothing else besides that.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this tv is definitely unbeatable. The sound is perfect for our small TV room which was a concern of mine when purchasing this tv since I had read that the speakers weren't great. I have to say the built-in speakers do the job perfectly. I am definitely not disappointed in any way with this tv. Everything came in perfect condition, no dead pixels either! Thank you Newegg for the ultra fast shipping and great product :)

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Bargain!

Pros: Display is sharp and color is excellent.
Perfect size for a bedroom set
A good selection of different inputs
Got it on sale for half price!
Thin and very light (only 15 lbs when I weighed it!)

Cons: Limited speaker volume
All the connectors are facing downwards making it difficult to plug into.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my daughter's bedroom to replace both the 27" CRT monster TV and a 19" monitor.
She has a DVD player connected to the component video, an iptv set top box to the hdmi port and her eee laptop to the vga input. The vga input was a little fuzzy until i set it to a resolution of 1366x768 and then the picture was very very sharp and bright. The volume from the speakers is hard to hear from more than about 8 ft. away (not necessarily a con for a kid's bedroom!) right now it sits on her desk but later I intend to wall mount it so she can view it anywhere in the room. A perfect set for this particular application!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little TV

Pros: This tv for 720p is a good little buy when you can get it on sale. It will do what you want, display your HD channels in a res that you can actually see. 1080p would be stupid at this size, because you would need to be 2 feet in front of the tv. Bought this for the bedroom, and it works very well with HD content. Picture is crisp and clean.

A fair amount of menus to go through as well, good picture and sound selections.

Cons: The speakers, honestly, are horrible. Even full blast it is hard to hear them from the 8 feet away that the head of the bed is. As the other reviewers have mentioned, you should get a different set of speakers for this unit, it would mean another remote sadly, as there is no line out on the tv at all. The remote is small and the writing can be difficult for people to read.

Other Thoughts: I bought this when it was on sale for 199.99 with 19.99 shipping and I have to say for the cost this was a total STEAL! Unit does come with a 2 year warranty that you must register with the mfg. The warranty starts from your date of purchase, so hold onto your receipt. The TV I got was over a year old, so newegg was probably getting rid of old stock. But I am still very happy with this set!

4 out of 5 eggsi'm content

Pros: crisp resolution. affordable price. sleek design. definitely properly sized if youre intending on placing it on a desk. do not recommend wall mounting it. think itll look inadequate with so much dead space around the t.v. screen. the tv is compatible with the at&t uverse remote, just takes a little dedication to get it working.

Cons: speakers inadequate but can be remedied by just buying new speakers. you need a sub woofer to properly listen to tv/movies/games anyways so you might as well invest in a 50 dollar computer sound system to enhance the experience. picture quality should be the focus of a t.v. if youre not going to buy a tv because the sound quality sucks, you should dedicate the investment in a stand alone amp/speaker combo and just attach it to the t.v. Bass is vital to any form of a t.v. experience. youd be surprised how much the ambient noises within movies bring you that much closer to the experience.

Other Thoughts: it is properly priced and i'm enjoying it so far. very crisp picture for those who have more hobbies that revolve around things other than technology (or those on an annoying budget) and to reference earlier reviews. these tvs ARE compatible with at&t u-verse. took me a while but i got my remote to sync up. press and hold tv, press ok, enter 922, press the play button, and press "ff" until you see the t.v. turn off. make sure you hit the ENTER button on the bottom right of the remote, NOT the okay button in the center. that minor detail got me to a cyclical stand off with my remote for a while. after that was resolved it was fully functional. could tv/video and raise the volume at my hearts desire. this t.v. is a good deal given the price range its in. if youre looking for elitist hardware you shouldnt be researching brands youve never heard of. i dont mind it at all. very content with my purchase. primary focus was to use it as my monitor and its working just fine.
for the horde..

4 out of 5 eggsWhite screen only on powerup

Pros: Good price and pretty decent asthetics. Plenty bright. enough connection options. Tunes in lots of channels from my digital cable service w/o STB.

Cons: thought it was DOA. would turn on, but only give white screen from backlight. Called their tech support and they suggested shipping it to them and for warranty work. UPS shipping for return to newegg or to Cali' for RMA was about the same at around 40$. For what I paid, was willing to risk fixing it myself.

removed all of the screw that held on the back cover and found the zif-ribbon cable from the display board to the panel was not connected (thus, backlight with no signal input). put in the zif and locked it down without issue.

my only other real gripe is that there is no option for adjusting the center like with some monitors, and I sometimes get a flicker along the top edge when I use CATV and the zoom level is all the way out.

Other Thoughts: for the money, I think it's good. I use it in the bedroom. you will need a VESA 200 x 100 mount for wall hanging. sometimes newegg bundles this with a 100x100 that won't work.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a Shell Shocker! (update)

Pros: Great TV for a great price

Cons: I wanted to correct my review of this. I mentioned in it "The slow response time is more noticeable when using the component, composite and coaxial inputs." What I meant was actually not the response time, but the input lag. There is noticeable amount of input lag when playing Xbox 360 (at least to me) especially through component. HDMI is a little better but still has some. I solved the problem by getting a VGA cable for my 360. Now there is no input lag at all! Very little to none while playing my older consoles through S-video and composite. Coaxial had consider amount of input lag when I tried playing my SNES through it, so I switched to S-video and it improved greatly.

Other Thoughts: I'm very picky when it comes to input lag. Some people may not notice it at all, but after using a CRT for a long time I notice it in some LCDs. This one is no exception, but it could be a lot worse. Thankfully the VGA port has no input lag =). The 8ms response time is actually really good on this TV as I don't notice much motion blur if any at all on this TV. VGA picture is a little bland but can be fixed with some tweaking in the picture settings. It is, however, very sharp which is a plus.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdate from previous review

Pros: This is an update from my previous review, and I increased the rating from a 3 to 4 after having it awhile. Picture and sound are pretty good for the money, I haven't seen a better TV for even $50 more than this one.

Cons: After changing locations and getting a different cable provider, the HDMI is a little flaky sometimes. When I had it connected to my DVR HD receiver it always worked fine. Once I got my new plasma TV for the living room, I moved this one to the bedroom on a cheap, newer style HD receiver, then when the TV is initially turned on it occasionally works normally, but it typically will show "No Signal" or have only sound and no display but if I turn it off and back on again it always works. Think this might have more to do with the cable box than the TV since it worked fine with my previous provider and on my new providers DVR receiver. Other inputs work perfectly, just HDMI with this cable box.

Other Thoughts: I finally figured out the universal remote and it works fine, using one of the Dell TV models it works with all remotes I have tried.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Starter HDTV!

Pros: I think this HDTV is a great starter. The picture is bright, nice virant colors, and is a very light weight.

Cons: Sound for the stock speakers, can be quiet depending on the media. Movies seemed to sound fine (especially action films) but the quiet films like dramas, are kinda hard to hear. Videogames seem to be decent but not great.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend a speaker system for better and louder sound. Very good HDTV though!
